Time to dive into a Northern German recipe. Potato salad, made just like Oma, is a must-have in our house! This is a (mayonnaise-based) salad, due to its Northern heritage. Many salads made among Northern Germany are made with some sort of creamy base, like mayonnaise! And boy, is it ever good!

This German pancake soup recipe, Flädlesuppe, is a comfort food that many Germans recall from their childhood. It's hearty broth poured over rolled crepe-like pancakes. And .... it's heavenly! An oddie but a goodie!

The 2024 German-American Society of Spokane Oktoberfest on the 5th was a big success with German food, German bier as well as lots of German music. A few pictures were shared by Becky Tibbets Oestreich and Emily Anderson. If anyone else has pictures they would like to share, you are welcome to.
