Spring is here! We've been waiting for this all year.

The Spokane Magic Club will hold its May meeting this coming Wednesday, May 3rd 2023 starting at 6:30 pm. We'll be in our usual location, Corbin Senior Activity Center (827 W Cleveland Ave, Spokane).

The theme for this meeting is to come up with a list of 3-5 magicians that have inspired us in our own craft. (No more than 5 as this list can become very long real fast, so limit to 5 max)

There is more to his idea but to get it started, write down your top 3 inspirational magicians and we will have more details at the meeting. If you're not coming to the meeting, send your list via e-mail to "[email protected]".

We'll see you at the next meeting! Meanwhile, go out and enjoy the warm, sunny weather.

Join us this coming Saturday, December 17th at 6:30 PM at the Corbin Senior Center for our annual Stage Magic competition! You will see a variety of performers giving their best to win first place. There is also an audience choice award given out, so make sure you vote for your favorite act! This is a fundraising benefit for the Corbin Senior Center, so the ticket price is $5 per person or $10 per family.

To all performers, make sure that you have RSVP'd with John Hill and have made sure to send him your introductions. Good luck to you all!

Time for another Magic Book Monday! Jeff McBride has an extensive performance repertoire and runs the Magic & Mystery School down in Las Vegas. The Show Doctor has a huge amount of great advice for magicians and how to elevate their level of performance, as well as some very strong routines. What is one of your favorite memories of Jeff McBride ? And remember, as Jeff says, Magic is good medicine!

Harry Lorayne is one of magic's big names, but he also pioneered a number of books on the subject of memory. Although this book isn't directly marketed towards magic, a good memory is essential for a magician. Has any of Harry's memory techniques helped you out before?

We had a great time with our annual Close Up Contest this year!
Cameron Brow took first with Lam Chan right behind in second. Everyone did such a great job this year and they really made the judges work hard on their decisions. Congratulations to everyone who performed as a great time was had by all who attended. If you were able to attend, what was your favorite act of the night?
