I’ve always said the hardest part about ski photography is finding great athletes that actually want to work together and create something special. It’s crazy how much I got done in one morning working with Wiley and Giray. Living legends. It was a pleasure working with you boys and 🫡

Siblings who shred together stay together

One of my favorite parts about working has been watching the kids from the Valley. What they’re able to do at such a young age (Rylee is 12 and Cooper is 16) is incredible. I’m so stoked to see where these two take their skiing careers. Big things in store for sure!

Enough about graduation, it’s time to look to the future! I’m honored and excited to have accepted a job as their new photographer and videographer. My other responsibilities include snow reporting, helping manage social media, and keeping stoke levels high! I’ve been on the job for one week now and these are a few of my favorite images. It was a wild time graduating, moving, and starting a new job all in one week but I love some controlled chaos :). Super pumped on this opportunity and excited to be sharing more soon. Oh, and Merry Christmas!!🎄

P.S. just a friendly reminder to my Bozeman friends that Bridger Bowl pass holders get 2 free days at Targhee and I’d love to show you all around my new home mountain!

Looking back through my time at Montana State it’s hard to believe how many unique and special experiences I had. I’m incredibly grateful. The people I’ve met have become a true family to me. Most of my friends from the first week of college are still my best friends. The landscape around Bozeman is breathtaking, but the people are what made my time there a once in a lifetime experience❤️

Graduated a proud Montana State Bobcat this past Friday. It has been an insane 3 and a 1/2 years. I had the best times of my life and the worst times of my life. I met so many people, tried new things, got pushed out of my comfort zone, and made a second family. I’ve grown tremendously. I’ll always be thankful for my time here. F**k the Grizzlies, and GO CATS GO!

I’ve spent my time working on documenting the experience as closely and personally as I could. Every semester I release a gallery for all my friends to look back through and download the photos. These are some of my favorite photographs and memories from my time at Montana State. There will be more to follow soon 🤠

I was overwhelmed by all the love and support from everyone who showed up to my senior show last night! ❤️ Thank you so much to everyone who came! I will be releasing the project on my website soon if you weren’t able to make it.

Here a few of my final images along with some sh*tty (but precious) iPhone photos from the show. Love all these people ❤️

P.S. I got a lot of requests for prints and there are certain final mounts from the show still for sale! You can also always reach out about custom print orders for images from this project or any other photographs that speak to you :)

They’re better bigger and in person! Come see my senior show tonight from 6-9 at the Baxter Hotel. My talented classmates and I have spent the whole semester working on our senior thesis projects and this is your chance to come check them out and celebrate with us! I hope to see you there.

These are 3 of my final images. I’ll be sharing the rest along with my artist statement soon!

More senior show outtakes! and I went to do the beehive traverse at the end of September. It was one of my favorite days taking photos all semester. We got turned around right before beehive peak because some exposed icy patches gave us cause to pause. Still hit a few new peaks along the way and had an amazing time hanging out with Danny.

P.S. These might be outtakes but there will be one photo from this day at my senior show. Next Wednesday the 13th from 6-9pm at the Hotel Baxter!

My Senior show is in one week! Next Wednesday, the 13th, this semesters photography senior thesis class will be putting on an exhibition at the Baxter from 6-9pm. I’ll share more about my project in the days to come, but I’ve worked incredibly hard on it and I would love to see everyone there! Not only will there be some of my pretty massive prints, but amazing work from all my peers.

These are outtakes from a sunset mission on the Bridger ridge. Although they didn’t make the cut, I still love the light. We even made a little friend on the way down :)

Seasons are changing here in Montana and as easy as it is to get caught up in the excitement of the upcoming winter, I need to remind myself to stop and appreciate how stunning the landscape is around me.

These photos were taken on a fall mission to Glacier National Park with some of my best friends and Tristan our Freshman year at Montana State. It’s wild to think how much has changed since then. The seasons change and so do we.

I met a woman who was old in age but young in her spirit at a trailhead the other day. Her name was Tannis. She complimented my socks that had a red + shape pattern and asked if I was an EMS. Feeling somewhat insecure that my socks gave her the impression that I was someone more qualified than I am I responded, “oh, no, these are just some silly socks”. To which she countered, “Don’t say just”. I was taken aback at first but then I started to realize what she meant. She told me there’s two words we should never use: just and only. They’re limiting words that keep your mind closed. I told her I absolutely loved that and proceeded to chat for a little bit. That was a couple weeks ago and I still think about it every day. You meet the most interesting people on the trail and I’m always grateful for experiences like these.

P.S. this is not Tannis. This is my brother Joe who I met at birth, another great option for meeting cool people

I don’t share a lot of my formal portraiture but here’s some studio work this past semester with ._.go._.tattoo I love working with talented artists and Ethan is one of the best. This session felt like we were working together to create beautiful images instead of a more traditional photographer model relationship. The collaboration ended with some of my favorite portraits to date.

P.S. go check his account ._.go._.tattoo and hire him! I trusted him with a super personal tattoo (third image) and he absolutely killed it.

has been my next door neighbor and best friend since the day I was born. Some of my earliest memories in the outdoors were spent romping around the woods with him. I was finally able to get him to come visit me out west and we had an amazing backpacking trip to the Wind River Range to see the Cirque of The Towers. It was his first time backpacking and he was a natural. Being able to share memories in these spaces with the people I love is incredible special and I do my best to not take it for granted.

Bonus story: We had to evac chase out to get stitches in his foot a day earlier than we were expecting (he’s totally fine). He cut it jumping into the lake to get to the boulder in the first image. He yelled back to me that he cut himself pretty good but I figured it was more of a scratch. I told him to dive in for me to get the shot then come back in and we’d take a look. The second I saw how deep and wide his hash were I knew that our hopes to summit East Temple Peak that day were done for and we’d most likely be packing out that night. Luckily Chase is the son of a nurse and I just got my WFR so we were well prepared. Although an evac is always a bummer I’m kind of glad it happened. An adventure isn’t really adventure if nothing goes wrong and the first 3 days were nothing but perfect weather and smooth sailing. Now he’ll have a scar as a souvenir for his time in this gorgeous area.

The Beartooth Highway holds snow well into summer and beckons ski bums from the surrounding areas to come get some late season turns. Our trip to earn a few more was one of my favorites from this past year. Doesn’t get much better than great skiing, great company, and great mountains. We’ll be back next year.

Dreamy March days…

One of my favorite days of the season last year was romping around with the incredibly talented . I cherish anytime I get to work with an athlete that cares as much as I do about how the photos turn out. I’m just jealous because Henry can take photos as good as me but I certainly can’t send cliffs as big as him 😅

Scenes from ski camp ⛺️ Tristan enjoys his DirectTV™️ that he built out of snow.

For spring break this year a few friends and I headed down to Wyoming for a ski road trip. Along with checking out some small local ski hills we went ski camping in the Big Horn Mountains. Avalanche danger was ridiculously high (a new whomph for each localized area of snow). Because we couldn’t ski avy terrain there was lots of mellow meadow laps and hanging around camp. Sunny weather and great friends make for an awesome trip even if ski conditions are terrible.

Our winter summit of Hyalite peak was one of my highlights from this ski season. It was a long but gorgeous day. We had about 30 min of soft sunshine right as we gained the ridge and I had a field day taking photos. It didn’t take long for a cloud to swallow us and we had to ski down in a near whiteout on some very crusty snow. Once we made it out of the alpine it was dad pow all the way back to the trail.

I’ve been working super hard to learn as much about avalanche safety and ski mountaineering as possible these last couple years. I’m starting to feel it all come together. Forecasting has been more spot on, I understand my abilities and limitations better, Trip planning is much smoother, and I’m trusting myself and my partners. I’ve come a long ways, but I know the mountains have plenty more to teach me.

This past weekend I spent 4 days in the To***co Root range in the for their ski mountaineering course. A massive powder dump kept us off most of the steep stuff but I learned a lifetime of information and got to ski amazing terrain with awesome people. Very grateful for the experience and new friends. Now it’s time to get after it this spring…

Extra shoutout to and Collin for being incredible guides, cooks, and friends this trip. Top notch professionals.

Also I know I haven’t posted at all this winter, but trust me; I’ve been skiing a lot and taking photos the whole time. More to come 🤫

Memories from longer days and warmer weather. I spent many nights in the back of my truck or in a tent exploring new parts of Montana this past summer. I’m excited to see even more of this state I’ve fallen in love with this summer.

I spent most of my time in Italy this fall focusing on spending time with family, but this day in Florence I took a couple hours to myself to walk around and make photographs. Street photography was an uncomfortable challenge for me but it reminded me of when I first started shootings photos and had the time of my life just exploring what I can do with a camera.

My brother Joe stand up paddle boards through a sea of ice chunks in the channel that feeds out of the pier. Winter in Michigan can be grey and cold with less recreation than I have in Montana, but I’m always for looking for ways to get out and enjoy the outdoors anyway. This quickly holiday trip back home was in the middle of a pretty intense blizzard leaving the pier completely iced over and what I call pancake ice throughout the entire channel.

2022 was one of the craziest years of my life. It was full of bad and full of good. I grew more this past year than any other year of my life. I’m super excited with who I am and where I’m at going in to this new year. I’m also incredibly excited to have this guy (my brother) move out to Bozeman to tackle 2023 with me! This shot was taken a few weeks ago on Joes first ever ski tour. I have a feeling 2023 is going to have a lot more of that…
