Catering Event Staff
Catering Reserved is looking to expand our event team and we are seeking dedicated detail orientated people to join our growing team. We would like to offer potential Servers and Bartenders to come join us in providing friendly and elegant service to our growing clientele. All Event Staff are part time independent contractors.
Servers Duties
- Participate in pre-event meetings reviewing the proposal, timeline and floorplan.
- Assist in the proper ex*****on of our proposals for catered events.
Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Be punctual and adhere to a set timeline.
- Set-up and breakdown of food and beverage service, tables, chairs, tablecloths, folding napkins, arranging place settings, centerpieces and vendor provided décor.
-Polishing china, silverware, and glassware.
- Make certain that all the proper health code and sanitation standards are met.
Guarantee the proper serving and bussing of food and beverages in a timely manner.
- Ability to handle and serve alcoholic beverages.
- Assist in maintaining the venues cleanliness during and after the event.
-Performing any additional tasks assigned by the event supervisor.
Server Qualifications
- At least age 18, over 21 preferred.
- Availability to work a variable schedule, which may include early hours, late hours, weekends and holidays.
- Oral communication and listening skills.
- Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift between 25-50 lbs, stooping, and bending.
- Working knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Possession or ability to obtain ServSafe and TIPS training.
- Required to wear standard uniform. Pride in personal appearance and a dedication to your profession is a must.
Server Compensation
$15 to $20 an hour.
Bartender Duties
- Responsible for serving a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages; including beer, wine, signature cocktails, and mixed drinks for catered events in compliance with all Virginia ABC Laws.
- Ensure drinking guests are of legal age and drinking responsibly.
- Stock bar with appropriate levels of glassware, ice, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, wine, and liquor.
- Prepare fruit garnishes.
- Assist in the set-up and breakdown of bar and beverage service, tables, chairs, tablecloths, folding napkins and vendor provided décor.
- Polishing glassware.
- Communicate with guests regarding drink ingredients and make suggestions for different types of beverages and cocktails.
- Be guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
- Coordinate table side wine service and champagne toasts.
- Post event clean-up to include, restocking alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, returning unused glassware to correct storage racks, disposing of fruit garnishes and bar trash, wiping down counter and refrigeration space, and cleaning floors behind the bar.
- Performing any additional task assigned by the event supervisor.
Bartender Qualifications
- At least age 21.
- Availability to work a variable schedule, which may include early hours, late hours, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess excellent communications skills, customer service skills, be well-organized, multi-task and able to think and act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure.
- Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift between 25-50 lbs, stooping, and bending.
- Ability to prepare and serve high volumes of drink orders.
- Basic knowledge of alcohol service, beer, wine, spirits and mixed drink preparation.
- Possession or ability to obtain TIPs Alcohol certifications.
- Required to wear standard uniform. Pride in personal appearance and a dedication to your profession is a must.
Bartender Compensation
$16 to $20 an hour.
