Well October is coming to an end, and that means the end of the Men Wear Pink of Lane County. I did surpass my goal of $5000, but had really hoped to get closer to $10k.

I have decided that this will be my last year as an Men Wear Pink ambassador. When I took on this challenge 7 years ago, my goal beyond raising money, was to feel like I was impacting my community and making a difference. While there was definitely some tough years, this year was the first time I felt defeated in my efforts.

I will still look to support the cause, because it is something I still feel pulled to, but just don’t think I have the energy between my family, 3 businesses, and the rest of life, to continue campaigning.

It has been amazing to watch this program grow from one guy raising a few thousand dollars in Lane county to now boasting 21 ambassadors this year, and a team that will likely hit the $1 million dollar mark this year, or come very close!

Thank you to all the people and businesses that supported my efforts over the years. I will do a separate post thanking those that helped my campaign this year.

It’s coffee for a cure day at all Human Beans! 100% of all sales are being donated to Men Wear Pink of Lane County! Today is a great day to drink lots of coffee, buy those gift certificates for employee or client appreciation gifts, buy tumblers and cups for stocking stuffers and holiday gifts. Last year they raised over $25k… let’s get it over $30k this year.

I will be rocking it over at the new West 7th location, but you can visit any of the 5 Eugene/Springfield locations all day long!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As an ambassador for the Men Wear Pink of Lane County, it is not only my job to help raise money for breast cancer research, but also raise awareness of this disease. In the time it takes you to read this post, there will be 4 more people diagnosed with cancer, and 1 new death.

I am so excited to once again be an ambassador of the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink of Lane County. I was the first in Lane County to join back in 2016, and have been amazed at the men that have joined over the last 7 years, and the heart of giving in our community. Together we have raised nearly $750,000 in the fight against breast cancer. This year, we want to reach $1 million raised.

I am asking all of my friends to help me out in any way they can to help me reach my $10,000 goal.

1. A simple donation to my campaign. Even $5 can make a difference. The link is at the bottom. We will also be collecting donations at all of our What Do You Know? Trivia shows in the month of October.

2. Participate in my Dodge For A Cure Dodgeball Tournament on October 22nd. You can form a team, be a sponsor, or do both!

3. If you can’t financially help, I understand, the last few years have been hard. So help by liking and sharing my posts so that I can expand my reach. You never know which of your friends may want to help!

Rising Phoenix Productions and What Do You Know? Trivia is looking to hire 2-3 new personalities for immediate part-time work as a Karaoke Host and Trivia Host in Eugene, Corvallis, Albany and Salem. There are also opportunities to be trained as a wedding DJ.

No experience is necessary, although electronics and sound knowledge can be helpful. I am looking for someone with a dynamic personality. Someone that can be funny, witty, competent on a microphone in front of a crowd. I am looking for the consummate Master of Ceremonies/Game Show Host type personality. I can teach everything else.

Other necessary requirements:
* You MUST be AT LEAST 21. Most weekly shows are in a bar, and require you to be of age.
* You MUST have a vehicle AND license to drive. (If you do not have both, do not apply!)
* You should have a flexible schedule
* You MUST be professional and be on time
* Be able to handle Customer Service
* Ability to sing a plus!!

This is a part time job that is primarily nights and weekends. Prefer to hire those that either have a job or another means of supporting themselves, because this is NOT a living wage job. Pay varies depending on the type and duration of the show, and your level of experience.

What amazing day! Pirate themed wedding on a Tuesday on the coast? Done!! So glad we were able to make this happen for Chelsea and Mike after 3 years and 2 delays.

The staff at McMenamins Sand Trap & Gearhart Hotel were amazing! Such a beautiful venue. Hope to do more here in the future!

We had an amazing event tonight here at High Mountain Poker! Our first casino night fundraiser was a HUGE success, and we were able to raise nearly $1200 for Adoptions Northwest, Inc..

Love has no boundaries, and so we escaped to a remote destination yesterday for a beautiful wedding with our couple Destinee and Logan! It was simple, and perfect! Their family and friends were amazing and lasted for 8 hours of dancing and fun! We lost the groom to his trailer by the end of the night, but the bride, stuck around for one last picture! Day 7 of the Covid -19 Quarantine. RPPDJ is doing it's best to survive the closing down of Oregon, but without events, it is hard to maintain. So we are looking to our friends, family, and amazing clientele to help us out if you are able! Here is what we are offering.

1) If you are a currently contracted client with a remaining balance, and are in a position to pay off your balance trusting that your event will happen, I will offer a 15% discount on your remaining balance. Just give me a call, and we can workout the math together.
2) When this is all over, we assume everyone will want to party like it is 1999, so let's make it happen! You can purchase gift certificates of any denomination, and get a 50% increase in value. So a $100 purchase is now worth $150. There will be no expiration, and they can be used towards any of our services, based on availability.
3) Want to show support, but can't afford to buy a party? We are looking at apparel in the way of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. if this is of interest to you, let me know, and I will look into taking orders and getting it ordered.
