EXTRA !! EXTRA !!
"Still WaterS Retreat Center" has new owners...we are excited to pass this on to Aaron and Candice Mummert and their family! Come meet them this Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the event center here at Still WaterS from 1 - 3 pm....Light refreshments will be served...We wanted to give them a warm welcome to the neighborhood and community and know you will support them as much as you have done for us over the years. Paul and I will be building in the area. Dene and Candy will be working together over the next months to make the transition smooth. Ruben will be taking a rest from work for a while and Tab will always be around to help!

In the past few years Still WaterS has proudly served our community...by sponsoring community events, athletic teams and hosting charity events, ie., 4th of July Celebrations, Christmas and other fund raisers....We always enjoy when groups come here and we can show off our incredible property!
Ruben Chavez has been with Still WaterS prior to Still WaterS...over 11 years with Paul and Barb! Dene Berry came along in July 2014 and Tab Lupton has been with us just over a year.. DREAM TEAM! We all work together to ensure that our guests feel welcomed and their needs are taken care of! We are all team players here and we love what we do!

June & July 2021 we hosted Camp Wednesdays here! Area kids were able to come for the day and swim, fish, play games, have snacks and an awesome lunch provided by our Springtown Churches, businesses and residents! We had to limit the day to 100 in attendance and each Wednesday we were at capacity! For some of the kids it was their first time to fish! Over 200 fish were caught. These fish helped our neighbors stock their ponds! Win Win!
We hope to continue Camp Wednesday every year! It is still not clear who enjoyed this camp more...the kids or our employees at Still WaterS...! This remains a mystery!

.....the story of Still WaterS continues..
In our upper meadow there is a giant oak tree that is home to a fun swing where you can sit and watch the sun set...what a joy to marvel in God's creations! And you guessed it...another great photo op area!
Scattered all around we have swings in the trees, porches and a teeter totter for the little ones! Just about every other step out here is a wonderful place for photo's...fun to make those memories and share them for years to come. Family Reunions, parties, retreats, overnight stays...all come and go but those photo's last a long time!!

Ruben along with some help, designed and built our boardwalk bridge, to join the Meadows Rooms to the Sun Rise Cabin...176 steps, go ahead...count them! Just another fun place for a photo op.
Our Get-A-Way cabin is located near the office, but away from the other cabins and rooms...it offers a one bedroom with two queen beds, galley kitchen. The back deck offers mega privacy and is next to a big patio with...you guessed it...a firepit! Bring on the S'mores!

the large gazebo, just a few steps from the Event Center is a great place for dancing, having a meal, "kinda outdoors"..and meetings. We have canvas drapes that can be lowered if we have a bit of that Texas wind...or rain...or snow....you get the picture! And if you get cold, we have heats to rent!

Sometimes you just need to "talk a hike!" Our walking trails are a photographer's paradise! The sights and sounds of nature are abundant along these trails...go all the way to the big bridge that goes over the ravine...so many deer, dove, oh and let's not forget the raccoons! On occasion we see the wild turkey moving around...course you won't see them much during hunting season...somehow they seem to "know." Critters of all kinds, flying, crawling, creeping out here as well! I guess should mention the several rubber snakes that Ruben just loves to scare me with!!

Our awesome outdoor amenities...gosh where do I start...with the pool? It's a 20 x 40 play pool, lots of comfy lounge chairs, a covered cabana, two restrooms and outdoor shower..does it get any better than that? Well, maybe if you can conjure up a water basketball or volley ball game!
If you get tired of swimming you can take a short walk to the 1/2 court basketball..perfect for a three on three or game of "HORSE" or some free throw practice! If you have a big group, consider a game of soccer! The putting green is fun too..we have putters and the golf balls for your use and right next to the putting green is a life size chess board...for you heavy thinkers! The stocked fishing pond and walking trails, swings are always fun too!

The Lookout Deck and Grotto were soon added. The Lookout Deck is a place to sit by the pond and watch the world go by and also see a fish jump out of the water....! Underneath the deck is the Grotto...complete with sofa, chairs and a game table. For those who are seeking a quiet place to read or study, the Grotto is for you! And guests that want to sing, dance or have a karaoke party...then the open deck is perfect, with bench seating on one side, there is plenty of room for your fan club!
Behind the deck you will find swings and a teeter / totter...how fun!!

Meadows Rooms A & B came along just before this time as well...they each have 4 twin beds and the split bathroom design. A counter top with coffee pot, mini fridge and TV are included. All the Meadows Rooms guests can enjoy a shared patio with fire pit! And, oh those rocking chairs!..who doesn't love to sit and rock????.......

For a couple of years, Barb and I had been conducting the office business from our respective homes...well you can imagine how much fun that was! So...Barb brought in a small trailer and WOW we had a real office! Needless to say, paperwork was easier to manage. That trailer was "home" for us as the plans for a new office would take shape. The new office would not only be for us to conduct our business but upstairs would be their new apartment. It's a two story, yellow stucco building that looks like it was brought in from Tuscany!....

After the two cabins were built, a decision was made to add a couple of "motel-like" rooms, so now we have Meadows Rooms C & D.....C has 2 twin beds and a queen bed, the bathroom is a split design with the sink on one side of the door and the toilet/tub shower on the other side..hence two people can be getting "ready" at the same time. Meadows D is our ADA room with the most incredible walk in/wheel in shower! Both of these rooms have a coffee pot (we supply that delicious coffee) and a mini fridge. The Meadows Rooms are just a few steps away from the Washateria where we have a 'pop machine', ice machine, mirco for those wanting popcorn! Laundry facilities are also available for our guests to rent if need be. There is a fire pit and large patio at this location as well. ..to be continued...

Next on the building horizon was the Sun Rise Cabin and a favorite amount out guests. It's a two bedroom, open concept living/kitchen/dining room, one bath. Out back is an awesome patio with built in grill...and on the front porch a lovely patio set with the biggest fluffiest cushions....just another wonderful spot to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or a cool drink in the evenings. Just this year we added the Reflection Rock Circle, which is located a few steps behind the Sun Rise Cabin...take your journal, bible or novel and sit in the midst of the trees and enjoy!
This area is also great for a "break out" session for your retreats! These rocks were all gathered from the Still WaterS property. Ruben, Tab and Dene harvested them and brought them to the circle. Ruben made the cross, solar lights were put in and wha-lah!
