🌸 Easter Office Closure Notice 🌸

As we enter the Easter season, our Events & Conferences Office will be closed from Thursday, April 17, through Monday, April 21, to allow our team time for rest, reflection, and celebration with loved ones.

We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, April 22, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

A Torch of Honor, A Day of Unity 🔥🏀

This morning, we proudly welcomed the Trooper Ross M. Riley Memorial Torch Run to campus — a powerful tradition and the official kickoff to our annual Special Olympics Unified Basketball event at St. Bonaventure University.

The torch, carried with purpose from the Olean Municipal Building to the Reilly Center, honors the legacy of New York State Trooper Ross Riley, who tragically lost his life in 2013 during a training exercise. Each stride today was a tribute — not just to his memory, but to the spirit of inclusion, courage, and community that the Special Olympics New York represents.

Once inside the Reilly Center, our campus came alive as Special Olympics athletes, students, and supporters gathered for the opening ceremony and cheered on competitors in a truly Unified Sports experience — where athletes with and without disabilities play side by side.

We are incredibly proud to continue this meaningful partnership and to host such an inspiring event right here at St. Bonaventure. 💚💛

🕯️ As the university community mourns the passing of senior Mason Mascato, faculty, staff and students are invited to celebrate his life during a candlelight vigil at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in the University Chapel in Doyle Hall. 🙏🏼

While at Bona’s, Mason had a lasting impact on the community, serving as a resident assistant and a member of the Arther O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program. An English major from the Syracuse area, Mason had studied abroad in Spain last summer.

Mason was a patient at Columbia University Medical Center awaiting a heart transplant at the time of his passing March 15. True to his character, Mason decided to become an organ donor, giving three people a new chance at life, said his sister, Victoria.
