Many thanks to the and one member in particular, past Mayor Sally Faith. The banquet was truly special, in many different ways. (I got a signed and dated Sally Faith book!)

I was proud to be hosting such a prestigious event, with so many members that I recognized. I was amazed at how many had never been to the Grand Opera House Banquet Center for an event. Over 14 years on and it is still new to so many locals. Maybe because I do more private business than anything else.

Again, the awards ceremony and banquet were special. I appreciate your added business, I appreciate your members and I look forward to next year. Ah, memories!

Anyone who understands this look, knows it's cobbler time. We're NOT talking shoes either.
Yummy goodness that's all naturally grown and

No one ever wants to pick them, but everyone loves to eat them. The summer is when they are ripe and usually so hot you can't stand it.
I took the opportunity, with the storm rolling in, to turn a miserable experience into a pleasurable one. So many benefits of the rain.
I got a colander full, before the rain pushed me inside. I remember, as a kid wishing for the rain. We would keep picking, but it wasn't so miserable. If we wanted berries for shakes and coblers in the winter, then we picked in the summer. We picked, peeled, squeezed and canned on a consistent basis.

Today's pick should help with the new berries being formed too. There should be another bumper crop soon. Have some already in the freezer. Going to pick more as soon as this awesome rain stops.

I love when I walk into a restaurant and see several friends and then, almost immediately, see the chef walk out.

I never even looked at the menu. I just took his recommendation on what I should eat.
The Creole platter looked and smelled fantastic. Exactly what I needed.

Literally just took my first bite of the Creole etouffee. Wow! The red beans and rice had a smoked meaty flavor and was a perfect starter and finisher, with the thick Gumbo flavor changer in the middle.

Thanks for the incredible eats Shay (Shay's Creole Smokehouse), the great service Sara and Dave and the fun conversation with Dan.

I have appreciated being a member for 12-13 years now and look forward to many more great events.

I know you can't control the weather, but this was one of the most comfortable and fun times I have had with the chamber. I know this is saying something, because there has been so many amazing gatherings. The benefits are well worth the price of membership.

If you are a business in , you should think about joining. (Feel free to say you were invited by the - there are perks for this too!)
