Many of you have already met Roman! He is exceptionally sweet and chill! He will always want to say hello to you as you come in.. and then he generally goes back to his amazing nap!
And other times he wants to join the fitting by chilling out on one of the chairs!
But this distinguished gentleman is all about chillin and protecting my ladies!

Michelle… this was a quite the situation!
We had done her Mom’s dress for her rehearsal. And then I get “the call” 1 week before the wedding! Her wedding gown is a mess!!
I hear “mess” and I take it with a grain of salt. Many times the drama spilled out on the phone is not nearly as bad as the client thinks !!
This time…however was bad!! Pretty much every client who calls in a state of panic knows the gown isn’t right, but doesn’t know why. And that’s what I do!!
She had issues from head to toe.
The bust. This makes me nuts EVERY time. This basting stitch “hack”. The theory is run this stitch across the top edge of the bodice and then draw is tighter to cinch up. Seriously? This will 100% of the time create a pucker!!!!
Her hips were not dealt with.

The small of her back and seat not dealt with..
The hemline??? I just could not handle that!! It was beyond sad… not even, not pressed, and way too long on the sides.

Miss Michelle…
She wanted to wear her mom’s dress for her rehearsal….
My mission with every one of these projects is to preserve the original gown as much as possible while bringing it forward to today! Each and every one is always a puzzle… what to save and what to edit!
We went short because that is what Michelle wanted and this girl has the legs for it!!💁‍♀️
The sleeves were toned down but not much, it needed to fit her rib cage, and pretty much the entire original hemline was lifted to a short skirt!
She was so much fun to work with and the end result was perfect!

Since April of 2024 I have had no help. The struggle last season was REAL!!
This season…. I have Alecia!! She and I have a history! She was a custom prom client in 2012 with a simply magnificent vision! 50 yards of tulle later, she had a spectacular gown like no other!! She literally took photos behind my shop on her way to the Ovation yacht for prom!!🥹
She is a graduate of The Center for Creative Studies and has a serious eye for perfection! Works for me!!💁‍♀️ She has now been with me for about 3 1/2 months and we are a team!!
She is currently an upcoming bride in October! Her stunning gown will be a post for sure!!

Miss Margaret!
She brought her gown in for alterations and also needed a veil.
The alterations on this gown were challenging. This is a true corseted bodice AND with horizontal boning as well. So ONLY the side seams could be altered. Fortunately, that did the trick!!
Her bustle was a French bustle that her sister executed perfectly!!😁
The veil…..I found this trim in New York about 25 years ago!! I literally have waited for the perfect moment to use it. Margaret wanted “fun” for her veil… I pulled this out and it was love at first sight!!
It is a silk trim that basically uses 1/4” bias cut strips that are then turned into these flowers… I just love it!!

Miss Sydney!!
Her energy was infectious and beyond endearing!!
He gown was insanely full, yet delightfully light! The interesting thing was the layers of tulle that extended all through the train. This is lovely until you get to the bustle. And I see this often.
There were 4 layers of tulle that were designed to be part of the train. This was lovely but the fact that we needed 13 sets of bustle loops meant that the bustle would be VERY puffy at her waist.
Soooo, the conversation shifted to hemming the tulle layers the same as the front hemline… eliminating them from the bustle bulk.
We all agreed that that was the BEST decision ever!! Pics from the back don’t even miss the layers we cut away!
AND HER BUSTLE AND TWIRL??? Need I say more… the lightness and fullness of her gown lead to absolute perfection!!

Wedding season also means taking care of your gown afterwards! If you plan to keep her? Keep her safe!! Get her inspected, cleaned, boxed, and delivered to your home!
Let me know when you want to drop your gown and veil off!! It’s super easy and quick!!

I’ve had many brides calling to book for next year… and I told many that I’d have my new book in a couple of weeks. Well, that was a month ago!🤦‍♀️ So, I’m ready now… thank you for bearing with me!

Miss Nikki..
Her gown was outstanding and COVERED in beading. The fact it was too big meant an incredible amount or rebeading and handwork. So the bust, the sides and hips, and then the hemline meant a ridiculous amount of work!!
But the bust was quite the journey! The cup color was an issue from day 1. As seen in the pic, the original color was way too light, which I see all of the time! And 99% of the time, the cup is a separate item, removed and recovered. Done. Not this time!!
This whole cup area was literally part of the bodice construction. So the entire bodice came apart to recut the cup area! And then rebead and reassemble the beaded appliqués! The cups ultimately were the color of the bodice and her skin.
Nikki is also not an A cup…. So I begged her to add straps. They were petite and beaded to match so they looked like they were original to the gown.
And at the end of the day, her wedding in Greece was epic and gorgeous!!
This is a gown I will never forget!

This is a dress I have loved from the beginning! She is duchesse silk satin with an embroidered overlay… all of the flowers on the bodice were hand cut, hand placed, and hand sewn with Swarovski crystal accents!
Let me know if you just have to have her!! Reception dress worthy for sure and also for a short prom! 😁

Ms Tanya….
First of all, her journey to improve herself and meet her soul mate was impressive, to say the least!! Nothing but hard work there!!
Her gown struggle was real!!! She tried on so many and sent me many pics… and then there was the one she chose! It was perfect… not too much, form fitting, and comfortable!
While the before pic of her(at home) doesn’t really look that bad, once she had her fitting, the true amount of just how much it was too big was revealed! The pins don’t lie!! It was 2 sizes too big… and what was taken in was pure excess… it was not left pulling or too tight at all!
And as I have said sooooo many times, the veil!! Her gown was unique with its embroidery design… so go simple with no embellishment annnnnd long!! Right? Cathedral is just everything!
Tanya and her mom are beyond close… so who better to walk her down the aisle? This was at her home, meticulously manicured for this day, and just perfect!

Miss Alex… the most fun personality!!
She brought her mom’s gown in to be redesigned for her reception dress. Her mom’s gown boasted very good satin and my favorite French Alencon lace!!
The gown was altered to fit Alex, b***d for structure, and that amazing skirt recut to a mini!!! This was so much fun and her party photo says it all!!🥰💃🥰
