The only way to be a great chef is to love and cook with passion. Cooking is not difficult. Everyone has taste, even if they don’t realize it. Even if you’re not a great chef, there’s nothing to stop you understanding the difference between what tastes good and what doesn’t. Cooking requires confident guesswork and improvisation—experimentation and substitution, dealing with failure and uncertainty in a creative way. The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking, you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, marinade meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Answer, report and follow executive chef instructions.
Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
Stock inventory appropriately.
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
