Congratulations on your recent engagement! 💍

Experience the classic, timeless elegance of The Konneker Room!

A color palette of rich blues, terra cotta and cream, inspired by the iconic William Morris tapestry, “Strawberry Thief,” along with copper accents, will complement the existing west wall of salvaged brick and terra cotta. With higher ceilings and beautiful new lighting fixtures throughout, The Konneker Room is destined to become St. Louis’ premier event space.

Sierra Hull - Friday, April 25th

After making her Grand Ole Opry debut at the age of 10, the Tennessee-bred virtuoso mandolinist played Carnegie Hall at age 12, then landed a deal with Rounder Records just a year later. Now 28-years-old, Hull is set to deliver her fourth full- length for Rounder: an elegantly inventive and endlessly captivating album called 25 Trips.

We are sad to learn about the passing of Zakir Hussain, the virtuoso percussionist and composer who graced The Sheldon with his incredible talent. He performed here in 2023 with Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Rakesh Chaurasia to a sold-out crowd, a truly memorable concert experience. We remember him fondly.

Looking forward to next week! On Tuesday, December 17th, Lola Kristine takes the stage as part of the Notes from Home series. Tickets are available at https://rpb.li/71g6.

Let yourself unwind this holiday season with the soulful sounds of Lola Kristine. This St. Louis native will be home for the holidays from sunny California to serenade you with jazzy Christmas tunes and her inspiring original music. She will be joined by her incredible band from Los Angeles including fellow St. Louis transplants Nathan Pence on bass (Sting, Michael McDonald) and jazz keyboard legend Ryan Marquez (Terence Blanchard, Randy Brecker, Chance the Rapper, Ernie Isley)
Lola has spent the last decade making a name for herself as “the little girl with the big voice,” performing on stages in theaters and clubs in different cities across the country, collaborating with Grammy-award winning artists and establishing herself as a respected songwriter and artist on the West Coast. Since making the move from St. Louis to California in 2017, she has recorded and released two EPs that have been featured on radio, prominent Spotify playlists worldwide and garnered attention from legendary musicians such as Mick Fleetwood. Her soulful song “Bring My Baby Back to Me” was chosen as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.

On this special evening, Lola will be celebrating the release of her first full-length album, CHAPTERS. The album has been receiving national airplay and was featured in many notable music magazines. She is excited to share music from the new project with her hometown on the beautiful Sheldon stage.

Join us on January 30th for this unique chamber music series curated and performed by St. Louis Symphony Orchestra musicians. Experience new and treasured repertoire masterfully brought to life on The Sheldon stage in a dynamic lineup of instruments and players curated by Xiaoxiao Qiang, Violin, and Tzuying Huang, Clarinet/Bass Clarinet.

Music needs no passport. Composers cross geographic barriers, borrowing ideas from a world of musical cultures. Sergei Prokofiev visits the U.S. and encounters a Russian sextet devoted to Jewish folk music for whom he writes an exuberant new work. Contemporary American composer Paul Schoenfield is drawn to Eastern European music, mixing themes from klezmer, Cossack dances, and military marches. In contrast, Amy Beach’s Theme and Variations is a sublime example of late-Romantic grandeur. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnole contains both Russian and Spanish melodies and rhythms.

Sergei Prokofiev: Overture on Hebrew Themes
Seda Balci: New Work (World premiere)
Paul Schoenfield: Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano
Amy Beach: Theme and Variations for Flute and String Quartet
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (arr. Blackwood): Capriccio Espagnol for chamber ensemble
