Today, we’re highlighting another inspiring who motivates us for , Adriene Bracy, MBA, CPA. Here are just some of the reasons why she inspires us:
🏈She broke into the male-dominated National Football League, starting her career as a Chief Financial Officer with the Miami Dolphins, and then working with the St. Louis rams for over a decade, and finally the Arizona Cardinals.
✨She transitioned to the non-profit sector to follow her calling to “inspire and make a difference in the lives of women and girls.”
💼She served was the CEO of YWCA Metro St. Louis for almost 12 years!
🏆She has received many awards, including but not limited to Black Enterprise 50 Most Powerful Blacks in Sports Award, St. Louis Business Journal’s Most Influential Businesswoman Award, and St. Louis American’s Non-Profit of the Year Award.
Adriene demonstrates the power of following your passion and knowing your worth!

Over 35 years ago, Personal Touches was just Jeanetta’s vision and a dream of making spaces beautiful 💭 and through years of hard work and dedication, that VISION became a REALITY. We started SMALL and kept growing because we NEVER gave up! Each day, we reflect on how far we’ve come and we’ve still got a long way to go, but we’ve NEVER backed down from a challenge, and we aren’t going to start now 💪🏽

It's and today, we're motivated by Tara Melvin- founder of the National Society for Black Wedding and Event Professionals. These are just some of the ways she inspires us:
✔ She saw a need and filled it.
Tara looked around and saw that there was a lack of equality and success for Black Event Planners and took it upon herself to make a change.
⚡ She amplifies the voices of her community.
Tara started the first and only Non-Profit National Association representing Black-Owned Businesses in the wedding & event planning industry, stating, "NSBWEP’s goal is to provide equal opportunity through representation, recognition and exposure for our community and the wedding and event industry as a whole."
🌟 She aims to use her power to give back to others.
Known as the "Olivia Pope of Events," Tara uses her expertise to create opportunities for others through industry knowledge, belonging, and connections. Tara said, "Members know that NSBWEP represents a place of belonging where they can safely know they have a family that will serve as a foundation of support, where they will be uplifted, and yield as a resource for information and guidance to be strong individuals and business owners in the industry."

Featuring one of our favorite examples of and - Oprah Winfrey. Here are just some of the reasons why she inspires us:
✨ She came from humble beginnings.
✨She started chasing her dream while she was still in high school, with her first job as a news reporter. ✨In 1973, at age 19, she became the youngest person to co-anchor the news at Nashville’s WLAC-TV; she was still in college at the time and was also the first Black woman in that role.
✨She started an amazing media empire, which now consists of Harpo Productions, the OWN network, a film studio, a publishing company, and even a grocery line.
✨In 2013, Oprah received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Don’t stay stagnant! Growth is essential to success.

Today, we're inspired by Dr. Mae Jemison, the first Black female astronaut. An engineer, physician, and overall brilliant mind, Dr. Jemison never let the limited mindsets of others limit her achievements. Sometimes if you don't have a seat at the table, you have to bring your own chair 🤗 Never stop believing that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to! ✨✨
