It is VERY difficult to make an outside pass in a Street Stock. Making Hydar's pass on Downey for the win very impressive 😮

Josh Morrison - SK Light Modifieds
Josh Morrison stepped into the spotlight during the second half of 2024, leading to his first career win at Stafford on NAPA Championship Night. Morrison talks about how he has adapted to the SK Light Modifieds.
Stafford Motor Speedway was founded in 1870 as the Stafford Springs Agricultural Park and hosted horse racing through the 2nd world war. The end of the war saw the appearance of midgets, sprint cars, and the occasional stock car on Stafford’s 1/2 mile dirt track.
Bill France announced the formation of NASCAR in 1959 and the Stafford Speedway management understood the vision entering into a long term agreement to host weekly NASCAR events. The track has continuously hosted weekly NASCAR events since joining the sanctioning body in 1959 making it one of the longest continually operating NASCAR tracks int he country.
Jump forward to June 1969, the track was struggling to stay in business and a hot shoe driver by the name of Bill Slater approached local businessman and car owner Jack Arute with a proposition; purchase the track and he will quit his job to run the track. The track was sold to Arute, July 11th 1969 with the first event under Arute’s management on that same day won by Eddie Flemke in the car he owned.
Stafford Motor Speedway continues to be owned and operated by the Arute family to this day. The track has been run by General Manager Mark Arute and his wife Lisa Arute (CFO) full-time since 1990. The track has entered into the third generation of Arute management with David and Paul Arute serving roles within the company including operations and marketing.
Stafford Speedway runs NASCAR events weekly on Friday’s from the beginning of May through the end of September. The season kicks off at the Annual NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler which is entering its 48th running in 2019.
