Available for purchase via Bouquet Club, seasonally at our Happy Valley Farmstand or DIY Bridal Buckets. Owned & Operated by Mom/Wife/Homemaker and Avant Gardener extraordinaire', Tracy Sundby. Passion for flowers and gardening runs deep in my veins, and goes back generations. This spring I dove headfirst into growing and sharing blooms to give me more freedom as a Mother to be at home with my son

. ‘Freedom Flowers’ was born, and I have never been more certain of knowing this is my path. Since March 2022 I’ve sold blooms locally in coffee shops/boutiques, gifted bouquets to family/neighbors and strangers, provided florals for elopements, and hosted flower-crown creating playshops. I’m humbled by the possibilities that have come my way since I started believing in myself. Visit our Seasonal (April-Oct) “Free Little Seed Library” and Farmstand on Happy Valley Road in Stanwood, WA. Growing flowers, sharing plant knowledge, educating community they can have a ‘green thumb’ and seeing beauty from seed to vase brings me immense gratification.

Each petal knows when to unfurl,
While seeds germinate beneath soil’s dark whirl.
Not every season calls for bloom—
sometimes it’s time for rest and room.

In spring, we leap toward the sun’s embrace,
in summer, we thrive among the bright, wild space.
But fall brings shedding, a quiet decay,
and winter whispers, “Just be; it’s okay.”

Lean into your season, embrace what’s to come,
whether it’s time to blossom or time to be numb.
For just as the flowers know when to grow,
we too must yield, for the heart to glow.

Pausing to reflect, redirect and manifest next season. Thanks for all the support this year - supporting small makes a difference! I’ll continue to stock the Outpost until first Frost ❄️🚙 Swing thru to experience the joy of Heirloom Chrysanthemums for yourself. Promise you won’t be disappointed!

👋🏻Realizing I’ve failed to document almost an entire month here. Time flies when you’re farming and raising children, I’ll tell ya what 😅

🌼Quickly unloading a few photos to show you what’s been going on this summer 🌱

✨Focusing on growing everlasting flowers this summer and it’s been rewarding. Strawflower in every color and there just isn’t ever enough of it! You guys have been going crazy for it too and that makes me a happy gal 🤩

🪧We’ve been busy at Markets and selling from our Farmstand ‘The Outpost’ this month and slanging DIY Buckets. Also been feeling crafty, and made some floral crowns. Feels good to get my hands creating again!

🫐Last week was our Farm Apprentices final day at the farm and boy was he helpful! The things we accomplished this summer I just couldn’t have done without him. Jake you rock!

🫡Wish I had more time to document what’s going on here day to day but the days just go by too fast and I’m left wondering what happened in the in-between. July always starts out as a jog and ends in a sprint - taking a second to reflect and catch my breath always feels good.

❤️🌸Swing by the Outpost tomorrow 8AM-until Sold Out and show our farm some love. We have Dahlias, Fresh Everlasting Bouquets, Gardeners Scrub and maybe even a couple Flower Crowns too ✨👑 Later Flower Pals!

Had the honor of hosting an apprentice from Stride Christian Academy this summer on the farm. Jake was so helpful, respectful and ready to get his hands dirty.

Thankful for the opportunity to mentor youth here at our Sanctuary. It was a real ‘Classroom in Bloom’ 🌸🇺🇸❤️ Thanks for sharing such kind words about the experience - we worked our tails off but had a lot of fun too! 💪🏼

How do you measure the weight of war? How do you even begin to thank those who have been in armed conflict to fight for our country? Their sacrifice is beyond words, so anything I say here is going to feel extremely inadequate. I’ll keep it short.

Today, we honor those Hero’s. Let us never forget the cost of our liberty, and the bravery and sacrifice of our Soldiers 🇺🇸

Land of the FREE because of the brave 🦅

📢🌸 Flower Lovers of The Stilly Valley Please Join Me in Welcoming 🌻 A Collective of Flower Farmers *right here* in the Stilly Valley representing your very own Arlington Farmers Market every Saturday throughout the Season 🥕🥬🍅🌸

It is my pleasure to be part of this group of growers and incredible strong women that make up The Floral Current Collective 🏞️🌸

Why do LOCAL flowers matter? A hundred years ago nearly all flowers were sourced domestically. Now over 80% of flowers are sourced from Latin America, pushing out American farms daily. Imported flowers are a $3.3 billion dollar industry filled with unseasonable flowers often covered in toxic chemicals, harvested using unfair labor practices. There is room for us small growers in this industry if we change the way we think about buying flowers and support LOCAL. The Floral Current aims to educate you on the importance of SEASONAL & LOCAL flowers! So please follow along as we teach you about Florals that are CURRENT in our Valley and represent our LOCAL market.

🇺🇸Let’s become educated consumers. Let’s support farmers in our area and look for those near us growing flowers by safe means. Let’s instead only purchase locally grown flowers 🌸

🌱📚 Swing through the Little Free Seed Library on Happy Valley Road from dusk to dawn to swap seeds or visit The Outpost for Fresh Cuts open Friday-Sunday unless posted otherwise. We love you for caring about LOCAL flowers 🌸💕

🙋🏼‍♀️🌿Hi I’m Tracy and I’d like to borrow a moment of your Thyme (see what I did there?) to explain the name - Freedom Flowers. “What’s up with that?” you might ask?

💬Well a couple short years ago, I was fired from a 15yr long career as an executive in the dental field. I was absolutely devastated…but it ended up being the *BEST* thing that ever happened to me because it pushed me to find my path to fulfillment, raising beauty from pain 🙌🏼 Anyways back to why the ‘Freedom’ thing…I was offered to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement with a lot of money to stay quiet about my experience in the toxic work environment with a really yucky leader. I quickly realized the most important things to me were my Freedoms, my Faith, my Family & of course my Flowers.

🏃🏼‍♀️So I said that’s a nope for me Boss, spoke my truth, said goodbye to the dental world, hello to the plant world and never looked back. Freedom Flowers blossomed and the rest is history ✌🏼🍀

🏞️🌸🏔️ Quick side note! 📝 Exciting news to share about being invited to join the where Stilly Valley Flower Farmers come together to make sure the flowers you purchase at the Arlington Farmers Market are grown in our immediate community. Stay tuned for a separate post on that soon!

☀️💚 I always find myself looking back for answers, and ahead for hope. Often struggling to stay in the present, and enjoy the right now, ya know the ‘where you are at in life’ stuff. Walking around seeing project after project and an endless to-do list vs. what’s already been accomplished—the giant mountains we have climbed to get where we are. I gotta shake myself awake sometimes to stay grounded and be grateful when I’m feeling defeat creep in! 🙏🏼

I find that Spring is always a time of excitement…followed by overwhelm. Joyfulness and hardwork. Presence to soak it all in and lots and lots of planning for the future.

✌🏼Slowly saying goodbye to last year’s abundance in the field, and hello to this year’s promise. Little by little. March always seems to fly the heck by, who’s with me?

📣 Field Clean-Up Roll Call 🌱 Benefits of not cleaning up the plants promptly in the fall is experimenting with what will live through our winters without any attention at all. Even with the harsh temperatures this year, here are our survivors:

✅ Blue Glitter Eryngium

Just a few less things to sow this year if you ask me.💪🏼😊 Anything that you tried to overwinter this year in your garden? I want to know 📲 Share your hardy plants in the comments!
