We talked about having a space like this and my dreamer-mom and bringer-of-reality-dad put their heads together and made it come true! It’s now one of our favorite places on the farm. It takes in ol’Sally’s good side and takes advantage of the wind-break she creates to grow the many culinary and medicinal herbs. Many of which we also use in our bouquets 💐
Jazz hands for 2024! Welcome and hello - I’m Hannah, owner of our little flower farm in central Iowa that we’ve called Minerva’s Meadow!
I’ve been farming since March 2020, right when the world began to change. Flowers were grounding for my family during that time and proved to be just what our neighbors and flower-friends needed. Since gardening is a family passion, we took our love and began sharing it with you all. And since we continue to dream, we have so many ideas cooking for this next year to bring more of the farm to you all in 2024! Want to follow the development? We’ll be reporting on our progress through the year through our newsletter! Link in the bio or on our website.
Located in the rose capital of Iowa, State Center, where I have yet to plant any roses (we’ll get there) — we grow all things that bring the wild world into harmony in our flower arrangements and market offerings. If you have ideas on what you’d like to see from the farm - let me know! [email protected]
I’d love to hear what you think! It may just become a special issue in our newsletter or become much more - like our little flower sale last year during a farm tour.
Who else is looking forward to 2024?
Happy Thanksgiving to all - my family, in reflection of the holiday, acknowledge the past this holiday is built on. I take this holiday to center the thanks giving part and reflect on the reasons we are here today.
I am forever thankful for my ancestors and for the legacy of the people that have enabled us to be here today.
What are you thankful for?
We are at the end of flower season! We will have fresh cut flowers this week and next week, so come and get yours.
We are at the Ames Downtown Farmer’s Market from 8-12:30 on Saturdays and we’ll be a guest at the Tama County Conservation’s Fall Fest October 8 from 12-6pm at Otter Creek Lake & Park (2283 Park Road, Toledo, IA 52342).
It may be raining but we are indoors so it doesn’t matter. Come see us at the Watson’s Fall Festival in State Center tonight until 8pm!
