It is with a heavy heart that I’m announcing the closing of my photography business. 😭 Life has taken me on a new professional adventure with some big personal moments ahead that will take more time and energy. I have made so many friends on this journey and hope you all keep in touch, and still ask me to take photos of your family (only doing this occasionally for friends and family). My website, social media, and email will be closed so you know we’re friends if you have my cell phone 😊 If you need to email please do so in the next two weeks before it’s closed.
I will be hosting a going out of business sale at the end of the summer, selling almost all of my photography equipment. I have all you need for weddings, families, and newborns!! I’ll post dates and times soon, but if you want to shop early let me know and we can set up a time!
I’m also hoping to find time to return to my personal work in creative photography, film work, and landscapes which is how I started back in 1997, before starting a business in 2010!
Thank you all for a wonderful 13 years of business. The numbers of couples, babies, kids, and families I have been able to capture have meant the world to me and you will forever hold a special place in my heart ♥️

I realize I didn't schedule mini sessions this year and would like to squeeze one day in before the end of the month. On November 20th I will offer 15 min sessions on our farm. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on social media, because life, a new job, sports, you know. But I’m breaking my radio silence for this gorgeous couple and a very fun downtown wedding this weekend. Editing may be slower than we all want but I’ll be sure to keep posting more!!

We had an exciting weekend experiencing our first horse show! I wanted to remember every detail of the day but knew once we left the house it would be too crazy to take many photos, so we ran into the garage for a 5 min photo session of her getting ready.

Why the garage you ask…. I wanted very specific lighting. I had a vision of a dark background with only her face or other details in light. She was very nervous and so it also fit the feeling and mood of the morning.

Garage lighting is actually really great especially if the sun is on the opposite side of the house. You open the door and make sure no windows are behind you. I’ll share more in more stories but I’m also happy to answer any questions.

I also rarely use overlays but had a little fun with these adding textures and florals!

Oh, hi there….me again! I know again 🤣I had these head shots taken so I thought I’d use them 🤷‍♀️ I’m just here to ask a serious question…. Why is IG ALL videos now?? Isn’t that what Tik Tok is for? Can we please just go back to posting pretty pictures here?!?!? I’d really like to know if I’m the only one feeling this way? Do you like videos better than photos? Do you visit one place for different content than the other? Please give me the scoop!!

Wrong season but I love sharing BTS. Sometimes you find the best light in the most random places, like this shopping center parking lot 🤷‍♀️ Bonus when you get amazing views facing both directions! I love when the light dips below the horizon and I can let my couples face the light (as opposed to the light being behind them like most images you see). Hope these snowy pics help you appreciate the heat a little more today 🤣

Hey there, it’s me again and it’s not even Friday!! I’m over here trying to keep up with life and business while also having a big birthday!
Birthdays always make me stop and reflect. Am I where I want to be in life, as a business owner, a wife, mother, friend, and most importantly as myself.
I took this photo of myself with zero makeup and no filters (might share in my story) to remind myself that taking care of myself and feeling good about myself makes me be a better business owner, wife, mother, and friend.
Look, I’m getting old over here (let’s just say I’m well past 40) but I’m taking really damn good care of myself and continue to put forth effort to grow old gracefully. I’m proud of where I am in life, but always strive to do more.
As I continue to make decisions about where to take my business this coming year I know I’ll be spending more time making connections with others and myself.
Now, I just need to figure out how to share those connections via social media (which has aged me about as much as my kids).
If you’ve read this far, what is your favorite content on social media? I’ve just followed my very first influencer and bought some really cute clothes I didn’t need 🤣

Since summer is officially (not seasonally) started I thought I’d post some celebration photos from this weekend’s wedding!

Sparkler exits use to scare me, because they are not easy to photograph. Now, I have a system down and a second shooter that also know all about lighting and BAM, I love sparkler exits!!

Making teenagers laugh can be a challenge. So here is your warning…. If you don’t laugh when your dad keeps yelling “pickles” then I’ll make you do all sorts of silly things like jumping in the air and showing me swim strokes (if you’re swimmer)! Senior sessions are always so much fun!!

I’m so excited to be a second shooter this weekend, which I haven’t done in years! Then the following weekend I get to watch these two get married!! I’m so ready to kick off my wedding season as the school year winds down and we gear up for summer. Is it too early to start talking about summer??

Let’s talk about letting your kids get dirty during a photo session, I know it sounds scary but it’s so worth it! Planning a session that ends with kids playing in dirt or mud gives you the pretty portraits you want to frame but also the real moments of childhood that you remember when you think back to that age. Here are a few tips. *buy a less expensive outfit just in case it’s stained * bring a change of clothes and lots of wet wipes or towels * consider activities your child loves and focus on them having fun. * some of my favorite messy sessions are planting, painting, cooking, and playing in the river (I also happen to have the perfect spot for this one).

I’m trying really hard to prepare for spring. A spring wedding next month, spring mini sessions for families, and a few other fun surprises are coming soon. BUT when it’s cold and rainy it’s hard to get into the spring mood isn’t it?!?! So, I’ll be over here reminiscing until it warms up and I see the sunshine!
