Brownwood “Burn The Wood” Bonfire Details

When: Wednesday 9/30 (tomorrow night!)
Where: Birdsong Amphitheater
Who: All band members, let us know in advance if you have a conflict.
Parking: best place is in the lot over closer to Birdsong Amphitheater or across the river by the SPARD building and walk over to the bonfire area. Carpooling is recommended.
Meet time: 6:00 by Birdsong. We’ll set up camp around the north side of stage (toward Graham St.) Bonfire pep rally portion begins at 6:30, bonfire is lit at 7:15.
Attire: Wear your show shirt, jeans or shorts are fine, ballcap is optional.

We are not taking a trailer to this event. Take your instrument home. All equipment needs to be brought in your vehicles (if you have large equipment – bass drums, sousaphones - find a friend with a pickup!)

We’ll be playing stand and spirit tunes so bring your flip folder. After the “pep” portion is over drumine will move with the crowd to the bonfire. Winds are dismissed after school song/fight song.

Take your equipment home and bring it back in the morning for early rehearsal.

Yellow Jacket Band earns its 15th consecutive 1st division rating from all 3 judges at UIL Region marching contest today advancing to the Area round in 2 weeks at Denton.

Hey band! It’s UIL week! No class tomorrow, but we will have Monday evening 6-8pm rehearsal at the HS (this is a change!)

Hey band! Please mark this change for Monday evening rehearsal next week. We are practicing 5:30-7:30 to accomodate the choir concert at 7:30 that night (choir people we'll discuss what this looks like for you tomorrow). I visited with Coach Doty and football will end at 5 since its a bye week. This is an important rehearsal for our next contest, we'll be adding more of Act 4 drill.

It’s time to start working on our props for the show. If you have a shop that we can cut some plywood please reach out. Also, we have props at Eva Guinn’s place from previous years that we’ll need to pick up, so if you own a trailer to help us pick those up and deliver them to where we’ll build that would be a huge help. The plan is to repurpose those old props to make 12 2-2.5 ft base to mount PVC pipes on for our “birdcage.” My hope is we can move the props from Eva’s place Wednesday or Thursday and build the props on Sunday afternoon. If you can help please get in touch with me and we’ll get the group organized.
