Skeletal remains of Peter Iredale, once 275’ long barque sailing from Liverpool, England. It wrecked Oct 25th 1906 when entering Columbia River. My first trip to Ft Stevens, even came across a dead whale washed up near by.

One of the few tattooed Chin women left. Chin tribe girls, as young as 7 years old had their entire faces tattooed, initially to make them ‘ugly’ and protect them from being kidnapped by the Burmese king who was specifically attracted to Chin women. The practice was banned by the Burmese government in mid 70s.
