Win the heat…then overheat

Fun night of racing last Friday night at Riverside Speedway. Started out in practice with a poor handling car. The crew made some adjustments before the heat race and that seemed to be what the car needed. Ended the heat race p1 but still faced some overheating troubles. We knew the car wasnt going to make it through the whole feature without blowing up so we elected to start at the rear of the field. We ran a couple laps and then pulled into the pits before any damage could be done. The team will go to work getting the heating problem finally under control. There is two weeks until our next race and we cant wait to see everyone there!

Hot laps….literally

With the garage help from our friends over at CT Automotive, the team was able to fix the problems from the first two races. The car finally started to turn some good laps and we had just started working with a set up before the rain slowed things down. Due to the rain, each division only did the main feature race. We started on the pole and it was clear after the first few laps that were were going to have an overheating issue. Code Richards coasted for a few laps making sure to stay out of the way before finally making the decision to pit before the motor gave out.

We have already found the problem and will work hard all week to get the car back out there for the quick turnaround this Friday night.

Big night💯 Come enjoy the show!

Get ready for our first of two Friday nights under the lights this summer! Just a work week away from what is set to be one of the richest purse races in Northern NH this season. $5k in lap money, nearly $2k in specialty awards, and $5k to the winner for the Keith Morse Memorial 100 Presented my LJ Shaw Racing. Mad Dogs, Cyclones, Daredevils are on the card as well, all backed by a truck enduro to conclude the night. Post time 7pm!

Turns out you need a driveshaft to finish the race 🤦‍♂️

Not the way we were hoping the night would turn out. Rear end went to junk in practice so Cody went into the heat race looking to run a few laps and pick up a couple points. Unfortunately two laps into the race the driveshaft broke off the rear end forcing the #26 machine to coast back to the pits

The crew has been working hard on the car and the hope is to have the car return to the track in a lot better shape this time around. Our next race is in two weekends on June 8th

First Race Blues

First race of the year was definitely a tough one. Right after the car show we lost an alternator on the new #26 machine.

Thankfully The Chilafoe Racing Team and Joe from The Shop On Aldrich went above and beyond to track down an alternator for us! With the very much appreciated help from our buddy John at Hodgdon Racing #23, the team was able to get the car back together in time for the feature

Unfortunately after a few laps into the feature, we snapped our transmission bracket off the frame and had to bring the car to the pits early

We want to thank everyone that came to help throughout the day to turn a wrench and lend some knowledge. It means the world to us!

Fortunately with the help of Chris Plante and Josh Richards the car is back together and ready to get another shot on the track in two weeks (May 25th)

The 2023 season has concluded…

The year was full of ups and downs. The team put in tons of long nights and many hours of hard work to keep the #26 on the track. We had plenty of bad luck but the team stayed strong and pushed through! Though we finished 9th in the standings, it does not show the accomplishments we had this year.

We are not sure what the future holds for the Backyard Brothers Racing Team, but the past 4 years have been filled with some amazing memories. We have had tons of great people helping keep this team running. We want to thank each and every one of you that have helped us in any way possible. We also want to thank our beloved fans. Through the good and bad, you kept the cheers going and we appreciate it more than you know!
