Evening Friends & Family,

The defaming article that circulated yesterday has already been stripped down. I was not criminally charged, I was not arrested, I was not jailed. Unfortunately there are people who desperately wanted that to be true. This isn't new. Many of you know there are those who actively root against you and when fake news like that comes out it's like moths to a flame. If anybody knows anything about the origins of the fake article please pass it along. Thanks in advance! The article had a direct impact on our business and the hateful vitriol directed towards my family was nothing short of rotten. Even despite all the hate we're leaning into our faith, our friends, and our family. I want to be brief but provide some clarity to the future of EVERYMAN as well as Baker & Gambill's. You deserve that.

1. EVERYMAN is the strongest it's ever been. Our Barbershop is on pace to CRUSH our numbers from last year and our Wedding Services and Custom Clothing continue to shoot upward. This year will be our biggest year ever. Thank you! Truly! Blessings!

2. Baker & Gambill's Restaurant & Venue will close effective October 22nd. Until then we will operate for private events only. If you would like to book something please DM us or get in touch with our rockstar GM Victor Celso at [email protected]!! If you have an event booked after the 22nd or you are scheduled to be on stage talent we will be reaching out in the coming weeks to wish you the best with our sincerest thanks and issue refunds. The closure of Baker & Gambill's Restaurant & Venue will no doubt have a direct impact on EVERYMAN’s operations. We will continue to communicate details as we learn more about what opportunities we may have to move forward.

3. It's been suggested I have embezzled. Since opening I have paid myself a $0/month salary. As an hourly rate, I work 60-80 hours a week, it equates to $0/hr. Many of you know I Barber and work in clothing. Profits from my labor in clothing sales as well as all of my barbering income, including tips, I put back in to the business to support our staff. I'm undoubtedly the worst embezzler of all time!

4. The City of Stillwater loaned our project $350,000 in tax incentive. For the record, I never even got to touch the investment! So no Scrooge McDuck situation here. Cities all over the state make investments in economic development. Much of the new development Downtown is due to such incentives. To date, almost $30,000 of the loan has been repaid in our first year as a result of our operations. Any insinuation that we've "stolen millions from taxpayers" is laughable at best and defamation at worst.

5. Yes, there is litigation pending with our general contractor. This is public record. I will tread lightly here. We were suppose to open in April. We had major issues with our general contractor. We didn't open until the last week of October. This resulted in Raychel and I putting in our entire life savings to keep the project going and take care of our staff. We obviously have major disagreements with our GC's practices and will let the legal process play out as it will.

I'm so thankful for those who have supported us over these past 9 years trying to do something cool in my hometown. Our posture is one of gratitude and humility. Couldn't have done it alone. I wish we had more time to pursue this crazy mashup of interests but for now we're moving forward to a new season.

Forgive my silence up to this point. I've always taken Thumper's wisdom to heart, "if you can't say something nice don't say nothin' at all". For now, we'll continue to tread that path as much as we possibly can.

“1 Star Google Review” Some of you followed the back and forth today when we received a 1 Star review about not paying bands. We posted receipts and other evidence to the contrary. We’re ALL in on investing in the experiential and have paid artists over $10,000 in our first several months. Mitchell reached out to us and offered a sincere apology and took down the review. That’s a BIG TIME move. Although our goal was not the removal of the review, we just wanted to defend our practices. We really appreciate Mitchell reaching out so we’ve taken our post down in good faith. He did the right thing. Appreciate ya Mitchell. Truly. I’d encourage anybody who has beef with a business to reach out to ownership before going to the internet. Especially local businesses. Most of us are your neighbors not corporations with ownership outside of Stillwater. My family will bend over backwards to make it right. Given the chance. When we’ve messed up, we’ve been shown incredible grace. Only makes sense to do the same in this instance. Sincerely humbled at those that came to our support. Gives us the chills. Today, we offer a wide variety of menswear and accessories, employ four full-time barbers, pour the best coffee from local roasters, and give back to local organizations that empower young men. We provide boys with the tools they need to meet milestones with confidence and men with the tools they need to be excellent role models to the younger generation.
