The story of the Dwarf House began in 1946 in Hapeville. A young man named Truett Cathy and his brother Ben pooled their savings, sold their car and took out a loan to come up with $10,600 to open the Dwarf Grill. That tiny restaurant opened on May 23,1946, with ten counter stools and four tables. The first day nettled $58.20 and it hasn’t stopped growing since then. The Chick-fil-A Dwarf Houses are a variation of the typical Chick-fil-A Restaurant. In addition to the normal quick-service areas, the Dwarf Houses also have a full-service dining area. The menu at a Dwarf House includes all Chick-fil-A products as well as many items that Truett served in his original Dwarf Grill and additions that he made along the way.
