Parker Mountain Lodge began as a rural New Hampshire dairy farm established by the Perkins family in the 19th century. During the 1920’s, a wealthy family from the Dover area purchased the property and converted the main barn into a hunting and fishing retreat, complete with hand-cut timbered walls, a large stone fireplace and the wide wrap-around porch, all of which survive to this day. The setti

ng was remote and noted for its natural beauty, so it continued to be the ideal location for summer camps by various organizations over the years. By the turn of the 21st century, however, the property was abandoned and was in danger of being demolished when an interior designer from Boston discovered and acquired the “diamond in the rough” and then began the long process of bringing the old camp back to its former glory. From the stone walls, to the painted porch rockers and the rustic antique furnishings that are found throughout the house, one quickly slips into a by-gone era of tranquility and all that is special about country life in the Blue Hills of New Hampshire.
