Circa Jan 2024 - Karaoke for Kids? Why are they dancing instead of singing? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was on hand at the Brentwood Country Club for a 13 yr old birthday party. It's a kid's dream as they are now officially a 'teenager'. Speaking of teenagers, it doesn't last long especially when they turn 20. They don't know yet but these kids will enjoy 13 far better than 18. Why? Most parents start charging rent; bummer. Welcome to 'Adulting'.

The dj service was our wildly popular 'The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party' package. We gave this Mom's daughter a Free '360' booth station to compliment the regular photo booth and karaoke.

What makes our dj services work is the experience of the Dj staff. Mr Dj Services is a "Dj first, karaoke second" type of format. What that means is we aim for the kids to dance to all the group dances and individual dancing for fun songs. Then as the kids ask for karaoke songs to sing we show them a list of songs they could sing. This list of songs to sing are actually songs that everyone can still dance to. Boom!

If you don't guide the karaoke song selections carefully you can end up with 3 consecutive sad, slow and depressing songs. That is a party killer. That doesn't even work at dive bar. That's why karaoke is so annoying at most dive bars. The dj is regulating the choices. Well, here and there, yes, I find a dive bar karaoke dj regulating songs, but it is rare.

Circa July 2023 - What are the Hot Pink tube lights used for? I'll tell you in a moment.

So in early Jan of 2023 Mr Dj Services received a phone call from a Nationwide Vendor. They specialized in videography and photography and they needed photo booth companies to perform for their client weddings. We said yes and knowing that they were from New York, we sized up and delivered all the paperwork needed to close the deal.

It was great and though mildly profitable it gave my staff an opportunity to not only make some money being the photo booth host at weddings but most importantly it gave them the experience.

In business it's considered 'Sub-Contract' work from other competing companies that are overbooked. Now we have to represent them by handing out their business cards but that's standard and like I mentioned it gives more work to my staff.

This wedding was at the Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. Easily 300 plus in attendance and a super loud dj system that rung my ears for days; no kidding. As a Dj, I see this all the time when it's a Middle Eastern celebration. I've had clients over the years, who are Middle Eastern, ask me how many speakers am I going to bring. They acknowledge they too don't like how loud the Dj blast the music. It's super ear and brain painful. Not sure why yet.

This event was so packed that guests were not able to smoothly walk to the restroom so we organized a line using the Hot Pink tube lights.

Circa Wed Dec 2023 - Why is this Office Party on a Wednesday? at 5pm? I'll tell you in a moment.

It's Mr Dj Services most popular Corporate Event package called 'The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party' package.

Check out these folks doing some line dancing. Is the song they are dancing to 'The Cha Cha Slide", "the wobble" or are they dancing to "Low" by artist Flo-Rida? Well to tell you the truth, I don't remember but it's most likely "the wobble".

There were about one hundred staff at this Holiday party whom you can't see in the frame of the picture. It was catered with tacos, shrimp and vegetarian items along with a full portable bar called 'Party Shakers' of LA.

This four hour party started with an hour of cocktail music for mood as the staff stayed on the clock but were allowed to drink if they clock out. That was a no brainer for most of them. There was plenty of libations being enjoyed.

Big time laughs were had at the photo booth during the boomerang video session; boomerang videos are definitely a must for each party package. It's a super cool video playback at 4x the speed and makes for great memories to share with your family and friends.

The Corporate leadership typically leave for a 3 week vacation not just for this particular event but across the board for other businesses nationwide. So, by having this party on a Wednesday, Dec 6, the executives can leave on the 7th and still have an extra weekend available.

Circa Summer 2023 - Why are these folks partying on a Wednesday? I'll tell you in a moment.

Take a close look on the window on the left and you can see the surrounding areas of buildings. This party was held on the vacant room of the Law Offices of the 7th floor in Century City (Los Angeles). There were more windows to view the rest of the city including the edge of the California coast line which because of smog wasn't quite clear but still there.

There were about 45 attorney women and 2 men who were employed at this office party. They were enjoying our "The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party" package & services.

Yes, for some reason all the attorneys were all women; nice! I think women make better attorneys. Why? Don't women always win an argument? Even when they're wrong? Take that to court!

This was our second time visiting this skyscraper and setting up on the 7th floor. It's a doozy! The unloading begins at the loading dock and it's easily 100 yards making 5 trips through the dock up the elevator and across the 7th floor.

The legal staff was not shy to sing. Most of the music was Brazilian and that was great.

The party was being held because a legal aid and her husband were moving to Tennessee. The attorneys decided that a mid-week end of day was the only feasible time slot to celebrate due to the work flow of the court system and the Wednesday was the actual last day of work for the recipient.

Circa Summer 2023 - Do stages come with our Dj Services? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was available for this early July private birthday party. Every year the first 2 weeks of July are slow due to the July 4th Holiday. Brides dare not to pick any 3 day weekend or July 4th date to get married; why? It's a bad idea unless your wedding reception is 3 days long with beverages & meals included.

You see, families who you invite to your wedding have much lower RSVP counts because families have there own yearly plans with non-refundable deposits like a camping trip or airline tickets. I advise brides NOT to ever think about using a 3 day weekend or any Holiday weekend as a good choice for your wedding. I even charge triple the rates if they don't take my advice.

I did this event(picture) for an friend of mine; no charge. She didn't know if I could make it until the Thursday morning before the Saturday birthday party. Point being, the Saturday after the July 4th is always a very slow, super slow weekend. Every year it's the same. Usually it goes un-booked so I don't lose any money.

How heartbreaking would it be if I told my friend in advance that I would Dj for her for free only to get an inquiry for money and then cancel on my friend?

In the end her birthday was and still is in a perfect spot. This party was held at her job location which is an actors studio. We are working on including a super small stage for karaoke however,

Circa 2023 - Golden Road Brewery - Why is this venue so special? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services will guarantee the majority of the night is about dancing to your favorite music. Sure we have karaoke but the party has to gets started with some guests taking the initiative.

Parties have a beginning, a middle and an ending. Guests typically show up 45 minutes into the party so then the 1 hour cocktail and appetizers begins. The libations are soaking and the music is vibing for the cocktail hour but the music isn't quite the party type of music; not yet.

Then the second hour the heavier type of foods are served either as a 'sit down' meal or a buffet. This soaks up a little of the guests consumption of the libations.

Birthday party? We sing happy birthday and have one of the guests serenade the birthday person with a fun karaoke song and BOOM! The party begins.

After every karaoke singer, our dj plays the perfect song that fits the moment; step by step and song by song and singer after sing; the atmosphere is rising to the ultimate vibe.

80 guests attended this event with 'The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party package. It maintains all the party dance type of songs you want to hear at your event but we sprinkle in guests singing karaoke songs that you dance to as well or at least are vibing with.

There is a train that passes within 20 feet of this venue traveling 75 mph. This venue rumbles; This venue is special.

Circa Feb 2020 - Why is the party in the Hotel Lobby? With the lights on? I'll tell you in a moment.

It's the Westin Bonaventure Corporate Event party with Mr Dj Services. There was no karaoke with this group however, if you look closely you will see they are wearing headphones. So, if they are wearing headphones how can they be hearing the dj music?

With Mr Dj Services this client is enjoying one of our feature services; The Silent Disco Dance Party! As you see in the picture but don't hear in the picture is the sound of silence and shoes rubbing on the carpet of the Hotel Lobby. It's so funny to watch and listen to them sing out loud but to the outside observer it's simply an acapella of many.

This event was a post Winter Awards for a big corporate company which had over 80% of the guests/employees fly in from all over the country. They were fed a super great dinner with libations and gifts in the main banquet room which had a capacity of about 1k.

As soon as the awards was over, the banquet room doors were opened and to the delight of everybody inside they were invited to the Hotel Lobby walkway to participate and have some fun with classic video games, casino tables, foosball tables, photo booths, additional waiters and bartenders and finally an option of our Silent Disco Dance Party service.

Due to the main banquet room being filled at full capacity, the extra curricular entertainment had to be placed in the lobby.

Circa 2017 - Wedding Dj - Do you see it? What do I see? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was on hand for this Super Great Wedding Reception and Ceremony. A string quartet actually played the music for the ceremony as we provided the mic's.

How do you plan your wedding day? Clients ask us questions and to their delight we ask back a few of our questions. You see, the wedding day is an actual production. Like a play in a theatre or concert. A wedding usually only has about 6 hours to orchestrate 30k pounds of the following: ice, alcohol, tables, chairs, dance floor, draping, food, silverware, place settings, photography, dj equipment etc. etc.

All the above has to be finessed, organized and announced while accommodating for small hiccups or un-foreseen delays. All this is on the shoulders of the DJ/MC. Make no mistake about it. So, I kindly let the clients now with a statement as follows; "your wedding day is not your marriage, it's a production. I won't suggest what to name your kids, where to live or how to live but, I promise you I will be honest on any and all aspects of each hour of your reception".

This means if I say "no", we are not going to do that. For example one time a Mom, who wanted to pay for her daughters Dj, me, gave me a list of songs for the dancing. She demanded I play the songs exactly in the order she wrote them. I said "I charge triple the rate". She said "never mind".

Circa 2024 - The Kids Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party - Why is it blurry? I'll tell you in a moment.

One of the best type of kid parties is the 13th; officially a Teen. Most of the parties that are 11 years and up are easier to provide karaoke dj services because for example, if you play a quick game of 'Musical Chairs' and one of the kids gets tagged out for not having a chair, well, they don't cry.

Try musical chairs or limbo for kids under a certain age like 7 and sometimes the exiting kid will cry, not cool. I've given this type of entertainment pitfall a name and that name is the "Santa Claus syndrome". Yes, I named it. It's important I let a potential client know about this "Santa Claus syndrome".

You see, kids will lineup at a mall and wait in line to take a picture with Santa Claus and the kid is normal, happy or content even in mild happiness and excitement. But, for some reason, due to their age, when they sit in Santa's lap, some kids start crying. They are kids and that's ok.

So, sometimes I have to make the musical chairs and limbo and delicate thin line of walking on eggshells and NOT eliminate kids. Basically, it's a no losers and no winners. It looks silly as an adult but for the kids it's just an activity. Eventually we have to cut the game short otherwise it would continue on forever.

These kids we awesome. They danced to every group dance and sung almost every minute. The pic is blurry because they are kids.

Years ago, this Video was shot of one of the most memorable moments in time these guests ever had. I brought the equipment and managed the music/sign ups. They created the energy as a team. They were all Doctors from India visiting the UCLA campus for Summer at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant for a party before they go back.
