Circa Nov 2015 Wedding - What song are these guests dancing to? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was not Mr Dj Services. What does that mean? the wedding dj industry it's known as a 'White Label' gig. Also known as the subcontract dj job.

Competitors of the Dj businesses help each other our by representing the flag or the origin of the client's business.

You see sometimes a certain DJ company overbooks a date and his or her staff is running thin. So, that Dj owner will reach out to borrow an MC or a DJ and provide the equipment as well. The imported dj gets a job, the competing dj earns a favor and the main Dj gets the job done. Everybody wins!

I know it may sound a little risky but if you know your competition and they have the same standards it all works out.

We represented a company I originally met at a Las Vegas Dj convention. In fact I had won the 'National Dj of the Year runner-up' award in which I met a sister dj company from Orange County as I was Djing in Sacramento County. When I moved to Southern, Ca some years later, I started working for myself and the Orange County Dj company 50/50. This picture was one of the last 'white label' jobs in did for them as my own business has taken off.

Circa Nov 2023 - It's a Karaoke Dj Party: Why are they not singing? I'll tell you in a moment.

This is one of our favorites clients and the picture doesn't show the entire story. It was a surprise birthday party for the hubby. Usually 9 out of 10 parties like this get foiled and the surprise is ruined. Why? Well, it's a mental disparity with some individuals and the concept of a 'Surprise'.

Let me explain: Every party we have done that the surprise was ruined did so because one of the invited guests texted/called the unsuspecting person (whom the surprise was for) to notify them that "they can't make it to your surprise party". What? I know right? Who does this?

One time I watched the friend (Canadian guy), who left message saying 'they can't make their surprise party' argue their POV; by saying what would they think if they didn't see me at the party? And of course those around all agreed that "they would of understood".

Seriously, it happens 9 out of 10 and it's surely a mental disability as to how the 'surprise is suppose to work'. A type of misplaced common sense which seems to be common lately.

However, this party was the 1 out of 10 that the surprise did NOT get ruined. The birthday man was completely surprised. I was there at the small gate entrance to let him in with two of his buddies and the guests yelled Surprise!!!

It's The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party! The guests in pic rotated dancing 2-3 songs then sang 2-3 songs.

Circa Oct 2022 - T-minus 5 min to start; why are the speakers on the ground? No tri-pods? I'll tell you in a moment.

So, Mr Dj Services was on hand for the first Saturday of October which was a 40th Birthday Celebration. What's great about having a 40th on the first Saturday of October is that you can invite the entire family with their kids. Why?

You see when kids show up wearing Halloween costumes to a 40th party, well it's like having a baby sitter; the kids have something to do, a theme of their own. The kids play with each other and kind of stay out of the way of the 'Big Kids" and indeed it's 'Big Kids'.

About 90 minutes into the libations and music, the 'Big Kids' stormed the karaoke stage and performed songs both in tune, almost in tune and of course in tune. Nobody cares when you are having fun.

Mr Dj Services most popular package is bundled to save clients a little money. It's the Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party package.

It's a most fun packed into 4 hours of dancing, singing & picture taking with a common goal; party until you drop!

The photo booth has boomerang videos, 2x6 print strips with an sms/email delivery, physical props & filters too!

So, why are the speakers on the ground and not on a tri-pod? The answer is feedback. When you are singing into a microphone the average height of a singer and their mouth is about the same height of the speaker causing feedback. It still sounds great! Problem solved.

Circa Sept 2018 - T-Minus 10 minutes to start of Party. What kind of Party is this? I'll tell you in a moment.

The day started with a 105 degree temperature rating. Our set up arrival began 4 hours in advance of the party due to the heat. We like to set up and then go back home to shower so we can come back fresh as a performer.

Mr Dj Services was on hand for a young man's Birthday Party; 13 is the first of the teens celebrations.

Our services did not include the photo booth back in 2018 so instead the clients used the extra budget for a White dance floor.

These were minors so we can show you the pics of a packed dance floor of the kids having a good time but in another year, when they all turn 21 maybe we can do another post.

Circa Dec 2019 - Killer 2nd Floor Glass Loft - What song are they singing? I'll tell you in a moment.

The best parties are when the libations kick in and someone is standing on tables or chairs while singing. At this point you can only hope nobody falls.

So, 3 hours earlier, everyone you see in this picture was downstairs with a fresh drink and appetizer in their hand. The client specifically picked a catering package where there was really no place to sit and eat a dinner; because technically there wasn't a full course meal or buffet. Instead it was endless appetizers and libations too.

This event took us forever to set up because event though it was December the client hired a Bartending service that bought lots and I mean lots of block ice. The Ice truck was blocking our access to our set up area which was a loft in the middle of the event venue. The loft had 3 walls made of Glass. Yikes!

Now back to the specifics of the 'Appetizers' only style of food. Why? The answer is Metabolism. It's I trick I use when meeting up with family or friends and including my dates. When you eat small portions over a 2 hour period, well, you become more energetic. The client knew this because she tried apologizing to me about the food but said it was for their own good! I told her about the theory and I agreed and was happy to understand her view.

Circa Aug, 2018 - Historic Avalon Hollywood - What is the name of our Dj for this show? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was on hand for their full support. It's a crowd of about 1,000+ Red Bull & vodka enthusiasts!

The sound system is perfectly designed to blow out your ear drums so it's best to wear ear plugs. The air in the room is 50/50 v**e and old fashion, old school ma*****na smoke.

No fights between the hours of 11pm and 2 am so it must be a good sign. In the upstairs private room is where there was easy and fast access to libations and all the current club dance hits called the VIP Avalon room.

It was there an associate Dj of ours was entertaining the special guests of the Avalon room. That individual was none other than Dj Cuzn Louie.

For this particular night there was no photo booth package or karaoke dj services, just that super great sound, that vibing dance music from one of our associate Dj owners. Congratulations Dj Cuzn Louie!

Circa Dec 2023 - Corporate Holiday Party - What song are they singing? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Service was on hand for the 6+ hour Holiday party that started at noon with Ginger bread house making contests downstairs and then the party moved upstairs to where you see this pic at about 5pm.

Our dj service with karaoke and a photo booth started at 5pm and by this time the libations were consumed fully and the buzz in the air was full on party mode. If you see to the left of the picture are the 50 plus staff members getting their karaoke groove on.

There was a stage with a Blue painted wall with rounded corners. The stage backdrop is used for recording trainings and demos apparently and it comes in handy for karaoke.

This was our favorite type of party being on a Tuesday. Tuesday? Yes, because it's a very non-competitive day allowing us to book the weekend dates at a higher price. So, with this package called 'The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party' package, we were able to include a FREE 360 Video station. It's what you see here in the pic. It's a 2 person platform that takes video as it goes in a circle; 360. Great idea!

The folks at the party started to burn out a half hour before the party was scheduled to end and we don't blame them. They started the libations at noon and by this time it's 7:30pm. Good times!

So, the song they are singing is by the 80's Smash Hit group The Clash "Rock the Casbah".

Circa Jan 2024 - Karaoke for Kids? Why are they dancing instead of singing? I'll tell you in a moment.

Mr Dj Services was on hand at the Brentwood Country Club for a 13 yr old birthday party. It's a kid's dream as they are now officially a 'teenager'. Speaking of teenagers, it doesn't last long especially when they turn 20. They don't know yet but these kids will enjoy 13 far better than 18. Why? Most parents start charging rent; bummer. Welcome to 'Adulting'.

The dj service was our wildly popular 'The Karaoke Dj Photo Booth Party' package. We gave this Mom's daughter a Free '360' booth station to compliment the regular photo booth and karaoke.

What makes our dj services work is the experience of the Dj staff. Mr Dj Services is a "Dj first, karaoke second" type of format. What that means is we aim for the kids to dance to all the group dances and individual dancing for fun songs. Then as the kids ask for karaoke songs to sing we show them a list of songs they could sing. This list of songs to sing are actually songs that everyone can still dance to. Boom!

If you don't guide the karaoke song selections carefully you can end up with 3 consecutive sad, slow and depressing songs. That is a party killer. That doesn't even work at dive bar. That's why karaoke is so annoying at most dive bars. The dj is regulating the choices. Well, here and there, yes, I find a dive bar karaoke dj regulating songs, but it is rare.

Circa July 2023 - What are the Hot Pink tube lights used for? I'll tell you in a moment.

So in early Jan of 2023 Mr Dj Services received a phone call from a Nationwide Vendor. They specialized in videography and photography and they needed photo booth companies to perform for their client weddings. We said yes and knowing that they were from New York, we sized up and delivered all the paperwork needed to close the deal.

It was great and though mildly profitable it gave my staff an opportunity to not only make some money being the photo booth host at weddings but most importantly it gave them the experience.

In business it's considered 'Sub-Contract' work from other competing companies that are overbooked. Now we have to represent them by handing out their business cards but that's standard and like I mentioned it gives more work to my staff.

This wedding was at the Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park. Easily 300 plus in attendance and a super loud dj system that rung my ears for days; no kidding. As a Dj, I see this all the time when it's a Middle Eastern celebration. I've had clients over the years, who are Middle Eastern, ask me how many speakers am I going to bring. They acknowledge they too don't like how loud the Dj blast the music. It's super ear and brain painful. Not sure why yet.

This event was so packed that guests were not able to smoothly walk to the restroom so we organized a line using the Hot Pink tube lights.

Years ago, this Video was shot of one of the most memorable moments in time these guests ever had. I brought the equipment and managed the music/sign ups. They created the energy as a team. We would provide karaoke services every Thursday night anyways so we made a special party for these out of towners from India. They were all Doctors from India visiting the UCLA campus for Summer at the Wolfgang Puck restaurant for a party before they go back.
