We are slowly, but surely, getting things up and running from our home base. If you have reached out via email, we appreciate your patience. Jeffrey’s surgery was successful. He is home from the hospital and recovering well. And, we got a surprise the day after Jeff’s surgery, Fox and Remy have a new brother, David!

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce THE CLOSING OF SHOTZ PORTRAIT STUDIO, INC EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2022.

• We will continue taking sessions through Monday, 2/14/2022.

• We will honor Gift Certificates and Groupon purchases through Monday, 2/14/2022.

• Anyone in possession of a PURCHASED Gift Certificate that they are unable to use prior to February 14, 2022 may reach us at [email protected] to request a refund. Please provide the Gift Certificate number, purchaser’s name, and if known, the date of purchase. The surrender of the original Gift Certificate will be required to obtain a refund.

• Anyone in possession of a Groupon should contact Groupon for a refund.

• Please plan to pickup any prints, photo products, canvases, etc. that have been ordered and are being held for pickup, preferably prior to 2/14/2022. However, we will be here until 2/28/2022, but our hours may not be regular as we will be in the process of moving.

• Please plan to order and pickup any sheets owed you prior to 2/14/2022. However, we will be here until 2/28/2022, but our equipment may not be available for printing and our hours may not be regular as we will be in the process of moving.

• All sessions prior to January 31, 2022 will be eligible for 50% off the purchase of a full-session digital package. No additional discounts will be honored and the full-session digital will not come with prints. However, once the digital session has been purchased, prints will be available at Lab Service prices and we will honor our normal discounts.

• Loyalty card redemptions will be honored until 2/14/2022, and possibly up until 2/28/2022, provided the printers are still up and running. Loyalty cards have no cash value.
We will still be available for your events and outdoor sessions, possibly passport and product photos, restorations, prints up to 8x10, etc., by using [email protected].

I just got off the phone with the Easter Bunny and it seems that he will be visiting us at the studio Saturday, March 27th! We'll spend 30 minutes taking regular Easter/Spring photos, and we encourage the whole family to jump in the pictures! Then we'll go over and meet the Easter Bunny and capture your child's moments with the Bunny himself! Book soon, because these slots fill quickly! Give us a call at 757-686-2011 and we'll be happy to schedule your appointment for you.

In order to keep Bunny, his helpers, and our customers safe, please come prepared with all persons in your party wearing a mask (Masks can be removed while taking pictures.) and follow social distancing protocols. Please call and cancel or reschedule your appointment if any members in your party are displaying any signs of illness, i.e., fever, flu symptoms, etc., if any member of your group has been in contact with anyone testing positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, or you've been out of the country or traveled within a state experiencing abnormally high cases of COVID within the past 14 days. To assist with social distancing, we also ask that only one to two persons remain at the studio for the viewing, or we'd be happy to schedule a time for you to view your session at a later date. These are trying times, but we're doing our best to try to keep things normal, in spite of COVID!

I'd like to apologize if you've been trying to reach us via email, messager, or by phone and haven't been able to reach us. It's our busy season and poor Jeff was in the ER Friday with a kidney stone which he's still trying to pass, leaving us short-handed. And, as if we didn't already have our hands full, our most expensive camera was stolen Friday. The best way to reach us is by phone. We are open at 10am Mon - Saturday and noon on Sunday; and are here until at least 5pm daily. If we don't answer right away, we're probably on the other line, but we'll get to you as soon as we can! We want to thank everyone for their support and patience. This has been a tough year for all us and we are overwhelmed with the kindness, support, and friendships we have made over the years. Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For those of you that experienced problems logging into your SmugMug accounts to view your photos, we've been notified by SmugMug that the "Server Error" problem has been resolved. Please give us a call at 757-686-2011 if you experience any further issues. And for those of you who access your images on SmugMug by clicking on a link and using a password supplied by us, we plan to convert you to SmugMug login access after the first of the year to allow you to view all of your sessions with one convenient logon. We certainly appreciate your patience while this was going on.

The Bunny had to stop for the night because he’s got rounds tonight! If we missed you, the Bunny apologizes. He was out there waving for 7 hours and tried to visit each and everyone of you! THE BUNNY IS COMING TO TOWN!
SATURDAY, April 11th, to a neighborhood near you! Starting at noon, The Bunny will be driving through the following neighborhoods:
• Burbage Grant
• Harbour View neighborhoods across from Harbour View Marketplace Shopping Center
• Bennett’s Creek neighborhoods, from Shoulder’s Hill to Bennett’s Creek Park
• Wellington
• Dunedin
• Western Branch Schools neighborhoods
• Bruce Road neighborhoods
• Taylor Road, from Bruce Road to the mall, neighborhoods

Meet us on your porches or lawn and wave to The Bunny! Just look for the Purple Jeep and Blue Pickup Truck. You’ll hear us coming!

SUNDAY, APRIL 12th, Harbour View Market Place Shopping Center, 7386 Harbour Towne Pkwy, Suffolk, VA, in front of La Parrilla Mexican Grill, from noon until 2pm, The Bunny will be in a field socially distancing himself to keep everyone safe. Please ride through and wave to The Bunny and stop by the gift table and pick up a small gift from The Bunny! If you’d like to take a photo of your family with The Bunny, WITH YOUR CAMERA, park your vehicle where directed and follow the attendant’s instructions.

To ensure everyone’s safety, we must remain 6 feet apart and no more than 10 people at a time may gather at a time.

Those that are simply riding through should be fine, provided they keep a 6’ distance when picking up their gifts from The Bunny.

Those that wish to take a picture with The Bunny, you will be directed to a parking area:

• where you must remain in your vehicle until directed to the photo op area. ONLY ONE VEHICLE AT A TIME WILL BE ALLOWED OUT OF THEIR VEHICLE TO TAKE A PICTURE.
• PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILDREN UNDER SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES TO ENSURE THAT WE REMAIN 6’ APART AND THAT THEY DON’T DART OUT INTO TRAFFIC.
• Please be as quick as possible to ensure everyone has an opportunity for a photo with The Bunny
• All photos must be taken by one of the vehicle occupants.

The Bunny is very shy. If anyone violates these rules, he’ll leave! So let’s have some safe fun!

Bunny Update. First, thank you everyone for your suggestions! After careful consideration and consulting the 10-day forecast, I think we've decided to do neighborhood drive throughs on Saturday and will setup in front of Shotz Portrait Studio with a drive through for a photo op with the bunny in the background (your camera) and to pick up a gift from the Bunny until we run out. (Bunny gifts will be assembled in a sterilized environment with masks and gloves and packaged in a plastic gift bag. I would not give out anything that I wouldn't allow my own family to partake of! However, we do encourage you to use all precautions suggested for bringing items from the outside into your home. If you're not comfortable with accepting a gift from the Bunny, we completely understand, but hope you'll take time for the drive by/photo op. We are still working out the details, so stay tuned for more details that we will post on this site. We are excited to let the children know that even situations like this don't stop The Bunny from making his appointed rounds!
