Less than 2 weeks away - the 47th DBE 2021 Annual British Festival /Bazaar- Houston is taking place from 10 am - 4 pm on October 23rd at the Arabia Shriners Temple at 10510 Harwin & Beltway 8. After missing 2020 due to Covid 19 we are raring to go! We have been busy cooking, sewing, crafting, and preparing to see all our friends from around Houston.

In reference to vendor enquiries. I have been informed there will be no vendors this year 2021 due to the limited space. There will still be the British bazaar so do please come by and enjoy tea or a pub lunch (pie) at your leisure. See posted flyer 😀

Mark the date on your calendar Saturday October 23rd. We have reserved the Arabia Temple at 10510 Harwin & Beltway 8 for the venue this year, its official! Times, participants etc. to be announced at a later date. Although a little bird told me, that the Houston Pipers will be there, and of course the Houston chapters doing their 'stuff' i.e. the pub, the tearoom and of course the various home made goodies for sale. All are welcome, and the proceeds benefit Mountbatten House. a home for the elderly in Highlands, Texas.

Mark your calendars for the place to be Saturday October 23rd 2021. As of this time, the DBE will once again be able to hold its annual British Festival. A change of venue this year, in that it will be held at the Shriners Temple, located centrally at Beltway 8 and Westheimer. As usual all the local chapters will participate by 'selling' their handmade items for your enjoyment. Entertainment etc. will be provided. More information as the festival draws nigh, :)
And as per usual all proceeds will benefit local charities! I might add that...
(Although last year we were unable to have our normal bazaar at Fluor due to the pandemic restrictions, the chapters of the DBE continued to raise funds within their own constraints, and we are also pleased to announce that our 'main' charity "Mountbatten House" retirement home for the elderly is still running due to the input of our many DBE chapters throughout the southern region,
Over the forty+ years of having the British Bazaar, The DBE have given over million dollars to local charities. with this in mind, we do hope you will be able to attend our 'little Festival" this year 2021. We know many of you missed having it last year. Rest assured our chapters will have your favorite British handmade items for sale!

The Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) would like to thank their supporters for the previous year 2020, even without our annual festival we were still able to sell some goodies to raise funds for the home. This was a challenging year and they (Mountbatten House) still now more than ever need our continued help!
We would like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2021 and with any luck, we will se you later this fall in person! (Contingent on obtaining a venue!!!) Stay well and stay safe my friends!

We hate to relay the sad news that the British Festival/Bazaar is cancelled this year 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. We hope you will still consider supporting the DBE as the festival is usually our main fundraiser of the year. As you may or may not know a good portion goes to support our main charity "Mountbatten House" a home for the elderly in Highlands TX The members also support other local chatitles. Over the past 46 years conducting the Bazaar the DBE has donated over a million $ all profits after expenses were donated and all our members are 100% volunteers. Thank you. And again we are so sorry we will miss you this year. Stay well and stay safe!
