Flag Day at the American Armory Museum Suisun City CA
We retired many worn and tattered USA flags and handed out many more serviceable flags. The Veterans organizations that call the Suisun Veterans Memorial Building home, joined together to make this event a success. Thanks go out to the members of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW Auxiliary, Military Order of the Cootie, 40&8, and specifically Joleen Huber, for organizing and planning this event.
Shown here is part of a collection of flags gathered over many years by Joe McBee. Joe’s wish was that all these flags would be displayed as a means to help teach our children the history of the growth of our nation. Joe was my father in law, upon his passing, Cora (his wife), with help from Angela (McBee) Prill and myself brought the collection from Joe and Cora’s home in Centralia Washington, and presented them to the American Armory Museum.
