I'm sorry for the radio silence everyone! I promise I'm here and responding to emails and inquiries as soon as I have a free moment.
As many of you know, Pinewood and Petals is operated solo by me, Jordy. It's a "side-hustle" to my full-time job as a marine biologist. I started Pinewood and Petals as a creative outlet and to make a few extra bucks - I never would have imagined it would have turned into a full time gig on its own. I have LOVED all my clients, many of you who have become friends. I am very ambitious, and last year I had a hard time saying 'no' to anyone. While I loved my business' success, I was losing precious time with my husband and doing other hobbies. In 2024, I decided to take a quarter step back and take only 1/2 the orders I typically do. In turn, 2024 has been a breath of fresh air : I took a work promotion, traveled with my husband and dogs, we remodeled our living room and office, and take up horseback riding again (give back to my inner kid).

All this to say, Pinewood and Petals isn't going anywhere but this year has been a good opportunity to evaluate how the business will look going into 2025 and 2026. I will continue to take 2 wedding orders a month, so I can maintain a healthy balance in my work life and my LIFE LIFE. I only have a few slots available for 2025 left, I typically booked up 4 months ahead of time - so I recommend booking no later than 6 months from your wedding. In 2022/2023, I took up to 4 orders a month but I cannot sustain that long-term without sacrificing somewhere else. I love everyone who has made it possible for me to succeed and Pinewood and Petals be what it is...I can't wait to see y'all in 2025!

Some of my favorite wedding photos are those from destination weddings!! It always touches my heart in a very special way when I get orders for destination weddings, especially those for Charleston locals getting married across the world. Happy July 5, the official start to spooky season! IYKYK. Be prepared for all the fall bouquet posts.
I recently had a work promotion and therefore, took on fewer orders in 2024. Everyone needs balance, and I too, had to find that. With the extra time I've had, my husband and I have been able to catch up on some home projects we've been wanting to do for quite awhile. With the *quickly approaching fall season, I am making room for 2 last minute bookings, WITH a $75 discount on orders over $500 (good through December 2024). Aren't Hannah and Nolan the dreamiest couple out there or WHAT? Congratulations you two! This drop- dead GORGEOUS wedding at required so many pampas, it took 2 vehicles to deliver them! But SO worth it. Also .whatley is hands down the best wedding planner in the area, most down to earth, and simply an amazing human. She organized this wedding and every element of it top notch (chef's 💋 ). Book her for your day, everything will go so smoothly!

Alright, I am obsessed with this color palette 😍 Elizabeth wanted mauve colors with her favorite sunflowers and I am thrilled with the final product. When my clients send me their wedding photos, I melt inside - seeing my art in a part of the happiest day of your life brings me so much joy and really touches my heart. Sara and Corey are some of the sweetest, most genuine, and expressive couples I have met. They were so much fun, I adore them and their energy! These moments are precious and I am in awe of y'all 🥺🥺

Can we talk boutonnieres? Pocket bouts have become a favorite of mine and over the last year, I've seen a huge swing in favor towards this style! I think they flow better and go with the jacket better than a lapel style. I also lean towards a wilder, natural look that just pops out of the pocket 😍 thank you and for the detail shots! Y'all rock 😘

Welcome 2024! It's been a minute since I have introduced myself. I am Jordy! I am the sole owner and operator of Pinewood and Petals. I make wedding bouquets and floral arrangements from wood and preserved plants - all of my flowers are wooden (Yes, I promise). My mission: provide an affordable, eco-friendly alternative for wedding florals, while supporting my creative soul. I love fresh flowers (who doesn't?!), but I am always sad to see such beautiful flowers be thrown away at the end of a wedding, after only having showcased their glory for just a few hours. So, building bouquets with wooden flowers, and preserved, dried plants was my solution to making one small, positive change for our community.
My business is small, and for me, that's what keeps it special. You will find my flower shop located at my home, where I have a small workshop in my backyard. I only take on 25-35 weddings a year, since I do everything solo. I also tell everyone I meet, that Pinewood and Petals is my "side hustle". I am a full-time marine biologist, and I knew from a very young age, I was going to achieve that goal. Get me talking, and I will tell you about my work, habitat conservation, fish biology, shark anatomy, or fossils. I enjoy connecting with my clients - I want you to be comfortable communicating exactly what you want, and also have the creative freedom to express yourself through your flowers. Since my flowers are handmade and hand-painted, YOU get a lot of say on what you want! Pinewood and Petals has definitely grown over the last 3 years, and I am always learning new tricks to improve my bouquets. I am looking forward to 2024 and all the new opportunities that await! S W O O N I N G • the bride • the groom • the friends • the family • the venue • the vendors • the food • the music • the weather • the energy. It was all *chef's kiss*. I seriously couldn't ask for better clients and vendors, who have become dear friends. I always light up when I see other vendors on a reoccurring basis! , , , are some to name a few.

Thank you to Andrea and Jenni for taking AMAZING SHOTS of the flowers I made for Carrie and Ty!! I depend on my clients to send me flower photos after their wedding - I want to see them "in their natural habitat" 🤣. It's hard to fully picture how my artwork comes out for the big day unless I see photos! Remember, each bouquet is handmade and hand painted, the flowers aren't real. I am SO excited to see you on your big day with a bouquet I spent 15+ hours to make. Please share all the photos 🌿

Wishing you all success and happiness this year and every year! 2024 is already shaping up to be a busy year, but I have many new exciting things cooking up 😄 I Absolutely needed December to unwind and breathe after a wild fall wedding season - I had 6 weddings just in November 👀 i can't wait to see y'all this year!

That's a wrap folks!!! My final wedding of 2023, bringing my total count to 29 weddings this year. I can't begin to describe the amount of gratitude and appreciation I have for all of my clients and fellow vendors who have recommended and referred me. I do everything by myself, from all of my own marketing, business management, to hand making everything you see, and delivery and setup. I have a nice break for the holidays now, and I feel like a kid on first day of summer break.
