I recently had a work promotion and therefore, took on fewer orders in 2024. Everyone needs balance, and I too, had to find that. With the extra time I've had, my husband and I have been able to catch up on some home projects we've been wanting to do for quite awhile. Aren't Hannah and Nolan the dreamiest couple out there or WHAT? Congratulations you two! This drop- dead GORGEOUS wedding at required so many pampas, it took 2 vehicles to deliver them! But SO worth it. Also .whatley is hands down the best wedding planner in the area, most down to earth, and simply an amazing human. She organized this wedding and every element of it top notch (chef's 💋 ). Book her for your day, everything will go so smoothly!

Alright, I am obsessed with this color palette 😍 Elizabeth wanted mauve colors with her favorite sunflowers and I am thrilled with the final product. When my clients send me their wedding photos, I melt inside - seeing my art in a part of the happiest day of your life brings me so much joy and really touches my heart. Sara and Corey are some of the sweetest, most genuine, and expressive couples I have met. They were so much fun, I adore them and their energy! These moments are precious and I am in awe of y'all 🥺🥺

Can we talk boutonnieres? Pocket bouts have become a favorite of mine and over the last year, I've seen a huge swing in favor towards this style! I think they flow better and go with the jacket better than a lapel style. I also lean towards a wilder, natural look that just pops out of the pocket 😍 thank you and for the detail shots! Welcome 2024! It's been a minute since I have introduced myself. I am Jordy! I am the sole owner and operator of Pinewood and Petals. I make wedding bouquets and floral arrangements from wood and preserved plants - all of my flowers are wooden (Yes, I promise). My mission: provide an affordable, eco-friendly alternative for wedding florals, while supporting my creative soul. I love fresh flowers (who doesn't?!), but I am always sad to see such beautiful flowers be thrown away at the end of a wedding, after only having showcased their glory for just a few hours. So, building bouquets with wooden flowers, and preserved, dried plants was my solution to making one small, positive change for our community.
My business is small, and for me, that's what keeps it special. You will find my flower shop located at my home, where I have a small workshop in my backyard. I only take on 25-35 weddings a year, since I do everything solo. I also tell everyone I meet, that Pinewood and Petals is my "side hustle". I am a full-time marine biologist, and I knew from a very young age, I was going to achieve that goal. Get me talking, and I will tell you about my work, habitat conservation, fish biology, shark anatomy, or fossils. I enjoy connecting with my clients - I want you to be comfortable communicating exactly what you want, and also have the creative freedom to express yourself through your flowers. Since my flowers are handmade and hand-painted, YOU get a lot of say on what you want! Pinewood and Petals has definitely grown over the last 3 years, and I am always learning new tricks to improve my bouquets. I am looking forward to 2024 and all the new opportunities that await! S W O O N I N G • the bride • the groom • the friends • the family • the venue • the vendors • the food • the music • the weather • the energy. It was all *chef's kiss*. I seriously couldn't ask for better clients and vendors, who have become dear friends. I always light up when I see other vendors on a reoccurring basis! , , , are some to name a few.

Thank you to Andrea and Jenni for taking AMAZING SHOTS of the flowers I made for Carrie and Ty!! I depend on my clients to send me flower photos after their wedding - I want to see them "in their natural habitat" 🤣. It's hard to fully picture how my artwork comes out for the big day unless I see photos! Remember, each bouquet is handmade and hand painted, the flowers aren't real. I am SO excited to see you on your big day with a bouquet I spent 15+ hours to make. Please share all the photos 🌿

That's a wrap folks!!! My final wedding of 2023, bringing my total count to 29 weddings this year. I can't begin to describe the amount of gratitude and appreciation I have for all of my clients and fellow vendors who have recommended and referred me. I do everything by myself, from all of my own marketing, business management, to hand making everything you see, and delivery and setup. I have a nice break for the holidays now, and I feel like a kid on first day of summer break.

It's on a sleeve that just slides right into the pocket! I LOVED traveling to Waterloo Village in New Jersey to celebrate Christine and Mark 😍

I hope everyone has a spookytastic Halloween filled with joy, laughter, and delicious fun! Halloween is my favorite holiday because you're never too old to dress up and have fun.
Adults are sold this vision of "you have to be the best at what you do to be successful"... I think that just leads to burnout and not actually feeling fulfilled- you don't have to BE THE BEST at something for it to make you happy. I make my wooden bouquets because they make me happy, not to be the biggest or best florist in town. So even if you're not "the best" at whatever you're doing, that's great as long as it fills your 🥤.
Don't just chase your dreams and the things that make you happy, HUNT. THEM. DOWN. But in the meantime, enjoy your Halloween, eat some candy, and be happy 😀

It's fall y'all, and you know what that means. Burgundy, Burgundy everywhere! Burgundy, blush pink, and all the whimsical vibes is the most requested color scheme this fall season! And this is one of the most whimsical bouquetsni have ever made 😍

When I get multiple requests with the similar themes, I have to pull out all the tricks to make sure each bouquet is unique in it's own way, with different fillers, greenery, or flower types. Each flower in hand made from wood, hand painted, and each bouquet really is a unique piece of art 👩‍🎨🖌️

The biggest congratulations to Kandace and Devon who got married last weekend in Lansing, Michigan! This time of year, Michigan is known for their beautiful wildflowers and perfect temperature throughout the day. It was an absolutely perfect day.
We have traveled twice this year out of state, New Jersey and Michigan, for weddings. Where will we go next?!

Also shout out to Mars and Lacey with , who are by far some of the most down-to-earth vendors I have ever met and talked to at a wedding! We talked about dinosaurs and planets and tattoos, and it warmed my heart so much to me other amazing humans ❤️😍
