Happy 2025 to all of our loyal customers and friends of Celebrations!
With the turning of the calendar to this new year, it brings about some big changes for our business and our family!
With deep mixed emotions we would like to let all of our customers know that we have decided to sell Celebrations - Sumner.
Many factors played into this very difficult decision. When we bought this business from our dear friends Dave and Kay Priebe we desired to continue to provide the kind of service they had provided this area for years.
When Kay unexpectedly and tragically passed away in September, something changed in both Jeff and I too. We really had to search our hearts for what to do next with Celebrations.
Staffing has become more difficult to keep, we were/are dealing with some medical concerns for our family, and just the fact that our family's growing and our desire to be more available for our 7 kids, their families and our 3 grandchildren is what eventually led us to decide to step away from this business.
If we were 10 or 15 years younger it would be different... but it's a very demanding business and we want to focus on our family as this season we're in is so precious to us! Kay's passing reminded us that tomorrow is not promised to anyone!
We have met so many amazing people in this business! We shared in so many graduation parties, anniversaries, baby showers, birthday parties, family reunions, church picnics, city events, celebration of lives, corporate events, business open houses, county fairs, and so so so many beautiful weddings!
We will take all of these memories with us forever. Thank you for trusting us with your most special days and moments! That is a privilege we realize is very sacred! We are honored you chose us!
What's next?
We will be holding an online auction sometime in February. As soon as we have a date, we will let you know.
We will continue the tradition, also started by the Priebe's, of the Lights In The Park, every Christmas in Sumner.
The Celebrations building will continue to be available for inside and outside storage.
We also converted part of the building into our home. We will continue to live their.
If you need a referral of other reputable party rental businesses in the area, leave us a message and we will do our best to point you in a good direction!
To our kids and grandkids- look forward to more time with all of you! Priorities change - we all change.
