Associate Event Manager
Job: Sunol’s Casa Bella is seeking to find a full time Associate Event Manger with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, as well as a strong interest in the wedding and event industry. Experience in events and hospitality is ideal but not required.
Supervisor: Overseen by Senior Event Manager
Hours: Full Time Position - schedule will be a mix of weekdays and weekends. Position usually exceeds 40 hours weekly. Priority is to provide two days off a week but not guaranteed. Days off may not be two consecutive days in a row. Job will require a flexible schedule with occasional shifts including early mornings, evenings after 5PM, weekends, holidays and extended workdays.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday availability is required.
Compensation: $55,000

About Us: Sunol’s Casa Bella Event Center is located near Niles Canyon between Fremont and Pleasanton. The event center is going on its 7th year of operation under Palmdale Estate Management of which has over 35 years experience and aims to provide excellence of service to all clients from their first email correspondence to the very end of their event.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to oversee events from start to finish including but not limited to: overseeing Casa Bella staff, vendors, catering and beverage service. Creating floor plans, answering menu questions and assisting in setting up tastings, managing the timeline and overall flow of the event the day of, managing clients decorations & drop off of items, as well as set up and clean up of venue property.
Most event days are an 9-10 hour day.
Must possess a professional demeanor and ability to handle requests from clients promptly and accurately.
Responsibilities will include preparing contracts, taking detailed notes, receiving deposits. Ensuring deposits, insurance and appropriate documents are received on time and documented correctly
This position requires onsite and in person meetings, remote work will occur but this is not a remote position.
Responds to client emails, and phone calls in a timely manner. Prepare accurate written correspondence including emails and contracts.
Assist with site visits as requested.
Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience
Previous experience preferred but not required. in an event management position, preferably experience at a hotel, event venue, convention center or related meeting industry.
Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing, type at a speed necessary for successful job.
Ability to prioritize work and effectively resolve workload.
Learn and understand the operation of an event venue and apply that knowledge to continually improve.
Complete basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Ability to learn or previous knowledge of venue management and coordination, wedding and catering industry.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with facility staff and management staff.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Word & Excel.
Ability to stand for up to 6 hours at a time, climb stairs & lift 20lbs

Candidate Requirements include:
Must be 18 years of age.
No Degree Requirement - Preference Given to students/graduates who’ve pursued Communications and/or Hospitality Degrees.
Must be open to background check
