Hobo Nephews of Un
cle Frank present our third annual Northern Train Music Festival at Mont Du Lac Resort in Superior, Wisconsin on Sunday, August 11. The music begins at 10 AM and features a stellar lineup of Minnesota artists including Actual Wolf, Fever Dream, The Brothers Burn Mountain and of course, Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Brothers Teague and Ian Thomas Alexy of Hobos Nephews will also be performing sets of their own. Northern Train Festival was previously held in Holyoke, Minnesota where Teague and Ian created their first record, the self titled folksy cult favorite The Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank. The festival was named after the opening track on the record. The song is an homage to the freight trains that would roll by the house and often disturb the recording sessions. The original festival site was just across the road from the tracks. The new location is not very far from the tracks either but is in a much more accessible location. Although technically in Superior, Wisconsin, Mont Du Lac is 17 miles south of Duluth on Minnesota Highway 23. The brand new stage sits in a natural amphitheater setting up on beautiful Mont Du Lac. Mont Du Lac's new camping area will be available Saturday and Sunday nights. Northern Train Festival is both affordable and family friendly. Admission is just $10 ($7 in advance) and kids 13 and under get in free. Residents of Holyoke, Minnesota are also granted free admission. There will be a full menu and full bar on sight as well as Beaner’s coffee, disc golf, kids activities, camping, live painting by artist Jeredt Runions and much more. This has been a great year for Hobo Nephews. We have seen growing success on the road and have enjoyed a wonderful reception for our new record Number One Contender which Star Tribune placed in the top ten Minnesota made records of the year.
