A friendly reminder that VALENTINES DAY is this coming Friday!

We’ve got all kinds of beautiful blooms to give to your person or even treat yourself to something lovely.

We’re delivering all over the county and have all sorts of things ready for in-store shopping and pick up.

We reached our top 5 brownie point winning pre-order customers last week (I always love to tell people that they were the first to order because they ALWAYS think they’re late, but no, they are among the elite)

Fear not, we’ll always have something for everyone but run, don’t walk.

We’re OPEN Tuesday-Friday 11-2, but FRIDAY we’ll be open until 5:30 for any (most common) last minute orders 😇😂

*try* not to be the guy who walks in the final hour asking “this is all you have??”….”no my dear, this is all we have LEFT”.. several brave souls took the time to think ahead and order before you so please enjoy the last single rose in the house 😇

Hey friends! Happy Friday!

In case you missed it, we finally get to participate in the Suttons Bay Art + Wine Walk tonight as we are wedding free tomorrow! We haven’t been able to in a few years and are thrilled to join the fun!

We’re pouring delicious hard cider from Tandem Ciders! We’re featuring our own brilliant in house floral wizard artist Angel, who plans to make the whole back studio into an enchanted fall forest experience. We’re using the most beautiful locally grown dahlia from our bestie Orchard Breeze Flower Farm

We’ll have some artful floral creations ready for purchase as well as some other goodies Angel has been working on to showcase her talents and I’ll be there to chat your ear off 😂

Scenes from our last big wedding of the season!

It was a bit of a doozy because the hurricane kept our two big boxes of tent greenery stuck down south so we had to act fast to still bring the magic ✨

The flowers made up for the scramble and we walked away proud, but pretty tired 😴😅

This is one of our favorite times of year when we’re still hanging on to the bright and juicy summer color but starting to lean into the moodier and warmer shades of autumn. When the two come together it’s *chefs kiss*

We’ve had weddings and events straight thru since the end of July and are still crankin. It’s been a great summer as well as a great “locals summer” aka the best one.

Since we are pooped little florists asking for a couple days to regroup, we thought we’d THANK YOU by offering a giveaway from our big little hearts.

Since we are all celebrating LABOR DAY leave a name in the comment section of someone who has labored themselves into deserving flowers as recognition. These dahlia are here to let you know we’ll be closed tomorrow, but with good reason!

Our biggest wedding of the season is this weekend so our little team is hunkering down to focus and build build build!

We would never leave you hanging, so give us a shout because we have all kinds of beautiful things ready to go that would love a new home. County wide delivery or in store pick up.

For our remaining 2024’s and future 2025 event clients - hold tight! I see your emails but until I’m not harvesting trees and climbing ladders…. I’ll respond next week my sweets.

On Friday, I had a really terrible day, start to finish. Just one of those one thing after the other, nonstop, how bad could it be, on the verge of tears all day kind of days.

I woke up Saturday still feeling the day before but knew exactly what would make me feel better and hopefully kick this new day off on a positive note.

I went to see Angels creations. I knew we had some big stuff getting picked up that afternoon and since I left work before getting to see it, knew it would be worth the trip to the shop.

I open the doors to the cooler to find these gorgeous pieces, so thoughtfully put together with such beautiful color, style, and intention. My heart felt so full. Of love, of pride, of true admiration and appreciation.

This business was built from the love and respect I had for Angels talents and even all this time later, I’m still just as excited and inspired to see “what she will create next”. It still makes me happy to see it and I get to see it every day. No, it never gets old.

Flowers are flowers and have a small window of joy but you cannot deny the joy they always bring. We are so grateful that flowers and friendship have come together in such a way to spread this same joy to so many around us. I think those who get it really know how much love we pour into our work.

So on your worst days, love your friends and stare at flowers. Seems to work for me 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Something I haven’t seen many vendors post about is how quiet this year is for weddings. Or maybe it was just July.

Either way, it’s been creepy. It’s been weird. But honestly, it’s kind of been the best ever 😬

My camera roll had pictures of the water, of friends, my dogs, random food, and then of course: flowers. Past years I would scan thru and have nothing but flowers.

Don’t get me wrong, flowers are the best ever, but I’m learning so is having a life. People visit from all over the world to stay in Leelanau County and here we are, living in it. As locals, you don’t always get to enjoy summer to its fullest since it’s the time to grind…. But this year is different.

While our bank account is asking “ma! Where’s the meatloaf!?” our hearts and nervous systems feel at ease, it’s really nice! We’re fortunate enough to still have all sorts of reasons to send flowers with daily needs, but last month: zero weddings 🤯

August + September are loaded so we’ll be dusting off our snips and getting back into what feels like the real world, but damn July - I see you. Or saw you, for once.

We’re hoping everyone, not just wedding friendors, are enjoying as many moments of summer as your life allows. The water has been perfect no matter which lake or beach you choose, go jump in!

Man oh man what a busy week it was!

For taking a week off to rest sure gave us some great energy to put out SO many beautiful pieces!

Tons of thank you’s, some birthdays, get wells, and some just because.

Our local flowers were the star performers (per usual) coming in hot from Orchard Breeze Flower Farm, Inevitable Farm Peonies, and Interlochen Blooms. HUGE thank you to these hard working women for supplying us with the best and most fresh.

We’re back!

Thank you for hangin tight while we took a little summertime breather 🎆🌞

Our voicemail and email are both full of “thank you” orders heading out this week. It’s fun getting to read the little messages about everyone’s adventures and good times. It feels extra special to send arrangements out knowing they’ll be stuffed with local blooms to compliment the fun they got to enjoy in our little Land of Delight.

We’re back to regular scheduled programming: flowering for the masses Tuesday-Friday, 11-2.

If you find yourself at you’ll see this beauty in the corner as soon as you enter the store.

We’ve had the pleasure of bringing a big beautiful arrangement to the store every week! It’s been fun trying to do something different every time and mix up the design based on which ever flowers are prettiest that week (spoiler alert: all of them)

We’ve also started the same sort of exchange with our friends at in Lake Leelanau! Every two weeks, you’ll see a vase of fresh cut blooms as you sip your morning (or afternoon) coffee.

Let’s not forget our beachy pink and peach flower cloud hanging in in Leland!

We are so grateful to serve our community and spread the love with flowers!

As of today we’re hunkering down and getting into building three weddings. Rest assured - Angel made some beautiful pieces that are all available for pick up or delivery, so we’ve got you covered!

The studio is currently filled with beautiful garden roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, and all kinds of lush greenery. Local peonies are starting to trickle in and dip their stems into water waking them up from their preserved slumber.

We’ve got ourselves a wedding weekend!

Angel put together all kinds of premade arrangements available for pick up or delivery, so if you’re in need of weekend flowers, or it just occurred to you that it’s your anniversary (so many this week) we’ve got you covered.

Really wishing we could participate in Suttons Bays Art&Wine Walk Friday, but this is one of our biggest weddings of the season as it edges on a 400 person head count. Gotta stay focused!

HEADS UP! 📣

Next week is one of our biggest (and best) weddings of the season so our availability may be limited after Wednesday.

The following week, we have a triple wedding weekend so again, after Wednesday we’ll be in wedding mode.

After that is the first week of July aka our *summer sabbatical* where we close for the week to treat ourselves to a little Leelanau County staycation. We’re historically slow that week, so after years of sitting on all sorts of red, white, and blue flowers - we decided to accept it as a chance to breathe.

🎆We will reopen Tuesday 7/9🎆

If you anticipate needing anything within these next few weeks please please please reach out! We’re always happy to make magic happen, we just need to know when you need it!

Yesterday caught us by surprise because it marked our SIXTH YEAR in business so I thought I’d introduce this years team!

First up in the floral corset is me (Carly). I’m the owner, leader, snack provider, steerer of the ship, and voice of this account.

Next, we have Angel. Creator of all creations, design extraordinaire, wizard behind the curtain, floral designer that makes FMN what it is. Her attention to detail and willingness to spill her heart into her work shows with every stick and branch and curtsy pose that you see so often. I have thousands of flower pictures on my phone and I can confidently guarantee none of them are the same.

Next and new on board: Saddy + Kaitlyn. The best support staff we could ask for! Both so very kind and helpful with clients. Both sweet and funny. Both amazing to work with! Time and time again, we realize just how important they are to keeping this team together and there’s no doubt this year will be a success because they are on board.

I had several people ask if we had weddings this weekend and I said no because we didn’t.

Why did part of me want to say we had more important things to do…?

Maybe because we had the honor of creating this beautiful wreath for the Memorial Day ceremony where the sweet gentleman who always picks up gave me a gentle lecture on how we don’t charge enough…?

Maybe because we had to put together funeral flowers for a high school friends dad…?

Graduation party pieces for my stepdaughters party?

I don’t know, but we poured our hearts into everything we did this weekend and it feels good!

Wedding season doesn’t get wild for us until mid-June, but in the meantime we’re keeping busy with other events, happy and sad.

It’s the beauty of being a full service florist; this shop always has something for us - and don’t get me wrong, this years wedding season is *chefs kiss*

Thank you to the Veterans for their service and choosing us for the last several years. It is beyond an honor to create beautiful things for a beautiful and respectable cause ♥️🤍💙

We’ve been busy preparing to be busy 🤪

I think that statement resonates with most small business owners in this lovely land of seasonal business. How many times have we mentioned “the calm before the storm” (probs daily).

It’s true though: graduation flowers for all the schools in the county, graduation party centerpieces, celebrations of life, and of course June weddings are upon us. Are we ready? I think so!

Times like these, we stop and wonder what happened to January and if we truly savored our “off season” (is there such a thing?)

With changing of the life seasons also comes flower seasons. Tulips are about to exit stage and make way for the next performers: PEONIES!

It’s all going to zip by faster than you know - make sure to stop and smell the Lily of the Alley. They too will be gone before you know it.

Surprise, surprise! SPOILER ALERT: we’re really only taking our Saturdays back-ish.

We’ll be rockin Tuesday-Friday 11-2 thru November, but will still accommodate Saturday morning pick ups and pop ins with open arms.

As wedding season ramps up, our Saturdays are typically spoken for, requiring all hands on deck for staff. It’s annoying for the customer if we’re open sometimes and sometimes not, so for now, Saturdays are reserved for preorder pick ups (usually between 10-11) and events.

Fear not: there are so many flowers available around the county, we promise you won’t really miss us. If you truly need us, give us a heads up and we’ll have something ready. No time for a heads up? We’re usually loading up wedding flowers in the morning… stop in to see what’s ready in the cooler!

Happy to accommodate the masses but also have to be fully available for our wedding clients 🤍

A post for the overwhelmed, overworked, and tired locals…. ♥️ Yesterday, a woman convinced me to take not one but TWO deliveries all the way the Empire. At first I cringed thinking of the time and distance it would take, especially after an already long week of navigating our deliveries during Cherry Festival, but ended up agreeing to it. I thought perhaps I could make a mini day of it and savor the beauty of Leelanau County? Hopefully. I stopped at Leelanau Roasters for an iced coffee(my sleepy afternoon elixir) I popped into Grocers Daughter for several versions of their chocolate bark(so good!), all the while trying to take in all the views on the way. At one point I stopped in Glen Arbor to feel the sand beneath my toes and see the water. At that very moment, I felt this overwhelming sense of gratitude that literally brought tears to my eyes. We are so lucky to *live* here. This lake is never farther than 15mins from me. I grew up here. I live here. I drive M22 every single day. This is not my vacation, this is my home. It’s easy to forget with the busy traffic, the crowded stores, the inability to turn left, but when you stop for a second and remember that they have to go home and that this *is* home, is pretty damn amazing.
