Alright October, here we go!
We have events every weekend from pretty much now until Thanksgiving! We look forward to these Fall events every year, I try not to have a favorite season, but I do think fall here on the coast is SO special!

We’ve also sent out 8 contracts in the last week, for 2026 and 2027 dates. We have room for about 3/4 more events in 2026, then we will close the calendar. We’re no longer booking more than one event per weekend, so if you want to work with our team- don’t wait, reach out and let’s chat! We’d love to help bring your visions to life 💕

They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. I don’t know who “they” are, but I don’t think these two need much help in the luck department. Their love for each other is so obvious, I don’t think it’s luck.

It’s Monday and we’re back in the office after an amazing wedding weekend! We have about 47 emails to answer, so bare with us today as we start replying to those.

*note this is our busiest month, so please give us grace with our response times as we work as fast and thoroughly as we can! We are prioritizing those that are getting married in the next 45 days first. We promise to give you the same focus and attention when your wedding month/week/day is here! 🥂

Last night. ✨

Truth be told, there really is nothing glamorous about this job and moments like this, with people like this- really make it all worth it!

When I stood back took it all in, it was very obvious their love for each other was the only thing that really mattered. No stress. No worry. No disappointment in the weather.
Just love.

We’re walking right on into our busiest month of the year! Long days and nights, little to no breaks. We have soooo many flowers coming in the next month and I am THRILLED to get back in the shop and create! New design styles we’ve never done before but can’t wait to try! New venues and old favorites!

If you need me, the best way to reach me during this busy time is by phone- call or text. My time at the desk and in my email will be sporadic, most of my time will be spent in the workshop- prepping for the weekends!

9.9.09 🥂💕
16 years ago, on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon in Emerald Isle, Mark and I (Zena) said our “I do’s” in front of 13 of our most special family and friends. It was small, simple and perfect. Sunset on the soundside is something to rival, it was so beautiful and romantic. We had dear friends and grandparents there that are no longer with us and having those memories and photos is beyond priceless. My best friend ( ) did my makeup, helped with my hair and took all the photos. Other friends were there to help me get ready and down the aisle. We were young and in love. I wore a $99 dress and he wore a rented suit that was 3 sizes too big. We didn’t care at all and now it’s even more memories to look back on and laugh.
So much has happened in our 16 years of Marriage and I’m thankful everyday for this partner I’ve found. If it weren’t for that Summer romance 22+ years ago, (wow that is a long time!!!) I’m not sure that Knot a Second Thought would even be!
Today we celebrate our love with our two kids and a happy, healthy home and thriving business. Life, and love are really wonderful.

It’s Friday! 🥂 it’s been such a great and busy week over here! We’ve booked several new events on the calendar for 2026 and 2027, played catch up from being on vacation + down with covid when we got back (🫣), tidied up details for the upcoming Fall season- we have so much fun on the horizon! Parties, weddings, fun workshops and more. The leaves are starting to drop, the temps cooling off just a bit, our favorite season is around the corner! 🍂🍁🍃
Cheers to the weekend- we will be swooning over all the galleries we have to look through from our events so far this year- like this amazing day with Grace and Cameron in Beaufort, they’re just the sweetest!!!

Whew! We came back from vacation and didn’t know it- but brought Covid back with us. After being down for what feels like forever, I’m finally feeling back to almost normal. That was rough, it was my first time having it and hopefully never again.
Looking so forward to pretty weather and a fun wedding this week! Kids are back in school and we’re getting back to our well run routine- which will be good for all of us around here! 💕

If you don't know me already, my name is Zena Underwood and I run an amazing team of Wedding Planners, Coordinators and Floral Designers here on the NC Coast. We are a team of hard working mamas (+ my husband, Mark) that are here to make your Wedding Day, Corporate Party, Baby Shower, Birthday Party or any other kind of Celebration you can think of....Amazing.
