Strolling on into the week ahead, grabbing our rain boots along the way! We’re readying ourselves for a little hurricane action over here, no wedding this week (thankful for that with this wet forecast!!). We have a few weeks “off” from weddings, but plenty of other things going on! Finishing touches on those giant paper flowers we’ve been working on, they’re coming together nicely! Finalizing details for our September events coming up, a few client meetings and prepping for school to start back for these kiddos! Hunker down, stay safe and hope for the best with all this nasty weather coming in, y’all! Perfect time to snuggle up in your cozy pants with a good book (or show) and catch up on a little rest…or computer work!

We’re gearing up for our last Summer event tomorrow. Rain or shine, it’s going to be so good! Our couple is just adorable and ready to have a great time! 👏🏽

Showing my face on the feed this morning, we have lots of new followers! We had such a great weekend, packed full of events. Tons of flowers for our wedding on Saturday, followed by a “girls brunch” on Sunday, where Olive and I set up a bouquet bar and sold out! Here we are posing for a quick pic before cleanup. Had to document myself in a dress that wasn’t black 😅 and also freeze this moment in time for just a bit, my girl is growing up so fast. She loves to help, not long before she will be working weddings with the team!
It’s a family affair over here at Knot a Second Thought. You’ll often see my husband on site assisting me and the rest of the team, and behind the scenes we have the kids pitching in. Cleaning up, prepping, breaking down boxes. Learning all about it hard work. We all take pride in each and every event that we are a part of. Our whole team is dedicated to making everything smooth and flawless, no matter how big or small the party is! You get to relax and enjoy, let us handle the rest! 💗

Another beautiful and HOT Summer wedding in the books! Haley and Peter had such a laid back and fun approach to their Big Day. They just wanted to gather and celebrate.. and that we made sure to do! Everyone had a blast! 💗

Two more events on the Summer calendar for us, then a quick “break” before school starts and Fall is here before we know it! 👏🏽

Year after year now we’ve helped design and bring ideas and visions to life, one event at a time. Sure, we may see some repeats in trends or popular color palettes. But we pride ourselves in really helping cultivate new and fun ideas for each of our couples. Your event should feel personal and unique, but comfortable and “easy” too. That’s where we come in. We’re here to help with as much (or as little) of the design and planning, leading up to the Wedding Weekend. We’ve cultivated several different packages, all varying with levels of involvement from our team. Some couples want all the helping hands and advice. Some couples already have all the ideas and just need help making it happen…within budget. It’s an added bonus that we also offer Floral Design options as well!
Our 2024 calendar will likely close for booking soon, just a couple dates left. 2025 and 2026 calendars are open for limited booking at this time.

🥂 Cheers to a fantastic wedding week ahead for our happy couple! Prepping today for flowers to arrive tomorrow. Sending out timelines and floor plans to all vendors, confirming any last minute details. We’re busy, busy with back to back wedding weekends at the Crystal Coast Country Club starting this weekend, and we can’t wait!

It’s Monday and we’re back in the office today, after a whole week away! If you’ve messaged or called during that time, I’ll be returning those today and tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding, we all deserve a break now and then and I’m starting to learn that if I don’t just take those breaks, I’ll never get them!

Yesterday’s wedding was a dream! ✨
I mean, they’re all amazing, really. We truly do love what we do! But, I’d be lying if I said they were all *easy* on us, vendor wise! We’re quite used to managing the hiccups and “issues” that arise. After all, that’s why they hire us…to put out those little fires so they can relax and enjoy, not worrying about anything else but being in the moment!
But, this was one of those events where everything was so smooth, nothing crazy “behind the scenes” for us to have to solve, no major hiccups. Everyone was SO happy to be there, the dance floor stayed packed, the food and drinks were enjoyed by all. The couple were overjoyed and really enjoyed their wedding, which is exactly what we strive for! 👏🏽 the Bride () said at the end “I’m so glad we had you, best decision ever to have a coordinator.” And that just makes me so happy!! 🥹

Added bonus- we actually had time to sit and eat and I managed to stay hydrated too, a true miracle!!

We’re looking forward to another beautiful wedding here today at ! We just love this venue, a nice change up from the usual beach setting, but just a few minutes from the actual beach! It’s going to be hottttt out here today. Packing my extra, extra change of clothes and a few extra bottles of water (and Gatorade!).
Then we have a client meeting and tasting tomorrow, plus prepping to go out of town next week. We will be out of the office Sunday-Sunday, but will check messages and emails periodically.

Whew, what a weekend! Just coming up for air after a super, super busy week last week..which led into a fantastic wedding weekend for our happy couple! I slept 11 hours last night, probably drank a gallon of water yesterday and maxed out on the Motrin/tylenol I could take for my aching body. But, it was an amazing wedding weekend for Allie & Teddy, so much fun was had on that dance floor!
If you emailed/called last week and we didn’t get back to you, you will hear from us this week, we’re back in the office and catching up!

Cheers, it’s my birthday today! Kicking off the last year in my 30’s, and I woke up with a kink in my neck…I guess this is it. 😂 already feeling it!
Nothing special planned this year. No party or special dinner. Lots of flowers arriving today so I’ll be in the floral shop all day prepping. At least the sun is shining and I woke to my Granny calling me to sing me Happy Birthday, a real treat as she’s pushing 90 and still remembers to call each of us on our special days. ☺️💗

I just love this photo so much!! The JOY 🤩 is just palpable. There was so much love surrounding us all on this day, we’re so happy to have been a part in their happy ever after! The rain lingered close by, but cleared just in time for a lovely ceremony by the water.
Also- those lapel flowers 😍 no reason the guys can’t also have big statement flowers to wear!

Last official week of school for the kids, we’re pushing through best we can. No weddings this week, but back to it next week with a beautiful Coastal inspired wedding at the Country Club, can’t wait!

This weekend wrapped up our Spring Wedding season and it has been an amazing start to 2024! There is so much more to come this year, can’t wait!
We have a couple weeks of no weddings (and my birthday!), then we’re back to it to kick off the Summer season! 🥂
Also just a reminder that the calendars are open for next year. We are seeing a lot of activity for 2025, three contracts went out this last week ✨

A fun reminder that we can always make something fun and unique, for engagement photos, bridal portraits, parties and gatherings too! It’s always more fun if you are wearing flowers! 🪻🌸🌷

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Mamas out there! We see so many amazing relationship dynamics on the Wedding day and leading up to, through the planning process. So many happy, supportive parents, grandparents, in laws, aunts, “stand in moms” and many others. We also know this isn’t an easy day for all, myself included. Not everyone has that relationship they so long for, some by choice and some not. Some have suffered loss that we will never understand. Loss of a parent, grandparent or even a child. Remember it is ok to step away, do what you need to find peace in your heart. Don’t scroll social media today if the posts make you sad. Step away. ❤️
For some reason this day always just stirs up all kinds of emotions for me. No real reason, it just always brings some type of sadness. My kids and husband are great, they spoil me and treat me so well. But I am going to step away today. I won’t be scrolling and reading all the posts on fb and insta, I know it does my heart no good. Instead, my phone is being tucked away and I’m going to spend the day in the garden! 🌱 protect your heart, protect your peace. Celebrate if you’d like, but know it’s ok also if you don’t feel like it!

Monday is here again, bringing with it another busy week. No weddings this week, so lots of office/admin time. Timeline tidying, layout finalizing, triple checking all of our notes. We will be wrapping up details on remaining May and June events most of this week and next.
But first, I’m declaring today “mental health Monday”. Our upstairs AC is out, I officially slept 2 hours last night, so today I plan to nap! But tomorrow; tomorrow I’m ON IT!

Although, like I told my kids, I think every day should be treated like Earth Day!
We will be in the flower shop all day today and tomorrow, but plan to go pickup some trash and dig in the dirt this evening! Get outside today, y’all! Take off your shoes, walk on the grass and dirt and let your skin soak it in! 🌿❤️

One of our favorite moments to witness on the Big Day, and one of the most rewarding moments from a design perspective, is the transition from day to night under a tented reception. ✨ it is just Magical! All of the lights begin to twinkle, the warm glow of candle light starts to fill space and the whole mood changes. In an instant the whole feel of the event shifts and everyone is transported into this intimate celebration with your closest loved ones. It’s no secret that we’re getting older, I think naturally some of us deal with that fact better than others. But it just is what it is and somehow we just have to roll with it. Accept it or fight it, it’s still going to happen. When I first started in the Wedding world, my clients were my peers. We were in the same life chapter. Now they call me ma’am and I’m often closer in age to their parents. Time is so strange like that.

Recently I worked on a photo shoot with my friends Cindy and Victor and as I’m looking through this “peek” gallery, my kneejerk reaction to seeing myself is 🫣😔. I see wrinkles. I see more than one chin. I see flaws and signs of my overweight, aging body. I could spend valuable time picking these apart, never sharing them and just tucking them away forever. The photoshoot wasn’t about me, we had beautiful young models! The focus is on them and the beautiful florals I created.
BUT, I showed this gallery to my kids. I handed the phone to Olive and let her scroll through and just watched and listened. Her whole face lit up. “Mom, you made all this?”. “Mom, that is the perfect bun in your hair, how’d you do that?” “Mom, this is so cool! I can’t believe you did this!”
She was proud.

And really that was my lesson here. It’s not all about me and how I think people see me. They don’t.
They don’t see my chins and my wrinkles. They just see ME.
A hard worker, a creative, a mom, a wife, an {aging} woman.
