We’re gearing up for our last event of the season on Saturday, a really fun party with some really great people! We can’t wait! 🎉
I’m feeling better each day and recovery is going well from my recent back surgery, so thankful! I’m still taking it “easy” (as best I can with a business and two kids!) and trying not to overdo it and I can most definitely see improvements. Thank you all so much for your concern, kind worlds and encouragement. And to my wonderful and understanding clients, I am forever grateful for you all. ❤️
Looking so forward to a restful Holiday season. We have some amazing things on the Horizon for next year already, yay!!

Hi friends! ✨Happy Sunday evening to you all, hope this daylight savings is treating you well and you’re finding that extra hour useful today!
Just wanted to pop on and say hi and that I’m doing ok over here. Back surgery just over two weeks ago and I’ve been healing pretty well!! I’m managing to get some rest (yay!) and the nerve pain that I was suffering from daily, is all but gone. Some residual twinges and some numbness in my foot still remains but they said that should improve with time. I’m trying to *take it easy* per the Dr., but, it is wedding season after all and we have events every weekend now-Thanksgiving! 😅 so I’ll be back in the flower shop this week!
Also wanted to note that the 2025 calendar is filling up rather quickly, we sent out 3 contracts just over the weekend! So if you’re a 2025 couple and want to chat about availability of date options, let’s do it soon! 🥂

Taking a moment to shout from the rooftops how WONDERFUL this man is. If y’all don’t know him, this is Mark, my husband. He never hesitates to jump right in where he is needed and can knock s**t out unlike anyone else I’ve ever known. It’s just amazing to witness! 🙌🏼
Since I’ve been down for months now with my back, he’s had to pull more weight than ever before. He’s always been an amazing caretaker, cooking, cleaning, kid duty- he does it all, with little to no complaint. He’s always helped me “behind the scenes” with our events, but these last few months he’s been thrust right into the mix and more than once has been there for the wedding day in place of me, with the rest of the team. He’s out there coordinating along side of my ladies, setting up, breaking down, talking to parents, joking with the groomsmen, grabbing drinks for the couple, helping vendors and everything else that comes along with the role I usually play. And he’s done it all with this smile on his face and a positive attitude to share. I just love him ❤️ and will be forever thankful that we found each other over 20 years ago..and that it wasn’t just a Summer fling. I found a true partner when I found him, he’s the real MVP this week and always if you as me.

🥂It’s Wedding Day for Zoe and James, yay! The sun is shining the humidity is down and everyone is bursting with excitement.
I’m home, recovering from my back surgery, the Dr. said it went as well as it could, but I have to rest to allow it to heal correctly. My team is all prepped, ready and excited to help bring this wedding day to life! ✨ stay tuned to our stories and we will try to post as we go today!

I love when clients find and share little gems like this in their photo galleries! We take on many roles when the Big Day is finally here, lots of them you don’t even know about…but we’re there, doing what needs to be done. You’ll never hear “that’s not my job” from us, we are all there with a common goal and that is to get you down the aisle and ensure that you’re having the very best time!
We’re there to hold things for you, so you have your hands to hug your guests. We will be sure you have a cocktail and that you eat something, we will keep things running on time, even help fix your spanx after you potty! Or like shown here in this photo, fix your veil after the wind takes it for a ride during portraits at sunset. We love what we do and promise you’ll be hard pressed to find a harder working team.

This Friday I go in for a much needed back surgery. I’m sad and anxious, but it has to happen. I want to be able to do this for many more years, but if I don’t get these issues corrected, I simply won’t be able to. I’m in constant pain and cannot continue on the way I have been. I’m so, so grateful for an amazing team. They will allow (and force) me to rest and recover. This is also just a reminder that behind the business, I’m just a real person like everyone else. A mom, a wife, an aging woman who has to remember to take care of herself too. Recently a Bride said “wow, you’d never know you were hurting so bad, you took such great care of us and our details”. And it just really hit me! My mind constantly reels with wedding thoughts. Thinking about current events, next year events and even beyond that. All the time! I care so much about each and every one of my couples and want them all to feel that way! Even if I’m crying behind the scenes, or unable to walk the next day after pushing too hard, this business is my life! I have worked SO hard at it for so many years now. With that comes allowing other’s needs to take priory over my own health.
I have to remember that I am in fact, human, and have to also take care of myself. ❤️

We’re still reeling from all the fun last weekend with Morgan and Slade, and the photos are SO good! has an eye for the details and you know we really LOVE that! The peek gallery is so fab, I can’t wait to see the rest! ✨
Today we are in the flower shop, prepping for a rehearsal dinner tomorrow and then spending the rest of the weekend “resting”.
For those of you following the saga of my back injury, they’ve scheduled me for surgery next Friday (pending my insurance approving in time) 🤞🏽 so I’m hopefully that I will be back up and at ‘em like usual in a few weeks! 🙌🏼 phew, am I ready for some relief!

🙌🏼 Sometimes, I get to do things the way I want to do them and it feels so good.
Thanks Jodie Lynn Casey for trusting me with your elopement 😀 Last night we cruised to their favorite island, by boat, and picked the perfect spot. I got right to work setting up this simple picnic for two and that was all we needed. The amazing landscape and natural beauty here where we live is truly breathtaking at times. Last night was incredible and refreshing to my whole creative being. Thanks to my husband for always being there to lug my stuff around and to Casey Futrell Photography for being there to document it all!

Just a colorful reminder that we “do” more than just weddings 🌸🌼 any excuse to plan a fun party, count us in!
Especially when it’s for these two right here, the best past clients (Parents of the Bride) turned friends we could ask for! The connections we make with the people we cross paths with are really just so special. We look forward to this event every year! 🥂 And we didn’t let the rain dampen the plans one bit, the party will always go on!

15 years ago, on a cloudy afternoon in Emerald Isle, Mark and I (Zena) said our “I do’s” in front of 13 of our most special family and friends. It was small, simple and perfect. Sunset on the sound-side is something to rival, it was so beautiful and romantic. We had dear friends and grandparents there that are no longer with us and having those memories and photos is beyond priceless. My best friend ( ) did my makeup, helped with my hair and took all the photos. Other friends were there to help me get ready and down the aisle. We were young and in love. I wore a $99 dress and he wore a rented suit that was 3 sizes too big. We didn’t care at all and now it’s even more memories to look back on and laugh.
So much has happened in our 15 years of Marriage and I’m thankful everyday for this partner I’ve found. If it weren’t for that Summer romance 20+ years ago, (wow that is a long time!!!) I’m not sure that Knot a Second Thought would even be!
Today we celebrate our love with our two kids and a happy, healthy home and thriving business. Life, and love are really wonderful.
