Jivana Green Spa & Salon is closing it's doors sadly.
I am still available at Essex Hair & Body Salon and also for home visits, as usual.

It is day two!! Welcome to Gathering of The Realms!

Parking opens at 10 and "gates" at 11am!

Reminder, this is our first event. We have striven for quality entertainment and amazing artisans. But do not be fooled, you will not be walking onto a 200-acre plot where there are permanent buildings. We do not have gates this year, but we do have all the fun of a great September weekend!

We have arrived! It is today!! Welcome to Gathering of The Realms!

As stated before, this is our first event. We have striven for quality entertainment and amazing artisans. But do not be fooled, you will not be walking onto a 200-acre plot where there are permanent buildings. We do not have gates this year, but we do have all the fun of a great September weekend!

Part Five
What will you see at the event
This is our first ever event! We wanted to bring the universe to you but we had to stay within realistic goals this time.
We have brought performers known in the area to dazzle you. Enjoy watching and interacting with The Long Shanks, a stilt walking family. Speak with the dancers from either or both The Raq-uettes and Shimmynannigans as belly dancing is a language and art well beyond the trappings of television and movies.
We have planned demonstrations of combat, arts and sciences. HEMA fighters will have heavy fighting while SCA Shire of Mountain Freehold has organized other forms of combat demonstrations plus displays and activities centralized around varying eras of history.
Swanton Public Library is presenting story times with a princess!
Artisans and vendors will have their wares available for purchase. Take a look back at our previous posts as we have introduced them and given examples of what to expect to find to buy!
There may be a game of chance or two for local fundraising purposes within our community.
And who knows what activities await! We can’t let everything out of the bag. We have to keep some suspense and intrigue!

Part Three
Where to park at our event
Admission for 14 and older is $5 per person.
Parking is $5 per standard vehicle. We are not able to accommodate large vehicles or campers on site.
As seen in the photo, there is a large parking lot next to the soccer fields.
Do not park on Jewitt St. as it needs to remain clear for emergency vehicles. Do not park on Blake St. It is for renters only.
Beyond onsite parking, obey the rules of the road.
Do not drive faster than 3-5 mph. There will be people of all ages and abilities. Be aware at all times.
Attendants will be taking parking and admission fees at the gate and directing you how to park. Please follow their instructions for everyone’s safety and benefit.
Parking is one way, not two directional.
There is a drop of point for ease of attendees.
Please park in the appropriate area. Do not park in handicap if you do not have the plate or hang tag. Do not park in reserved spots or emergency areas as they are for quick entrance and exits.

Part Two
What to bring when attending our event
Bring various types of clothing. Best to be prepared for all types of weather. 2023 has been nothing but unpredictable weatherwise.
If you have sensitive skin or eyes, make sure to have sunscreen and sunglasses.
Water bottle. Staying hydrated is key to health. Drinking water while attending any event makes for a better time as you will not experience any of the negative effects of dehydration.
Bring a chair or mat or cushion. Sit and enjoy the scenery of the event. Watch the performances and battles in comfort. Take your time and enjoy all that there is to see and do.
Have cash available. Our vendors will have amazing items for sale. Even though we are doing our best so that cashless transactions can occur, technology is technology and has its own shortcomings.
A carry bag is recommended as well. Vermont is a plastic free or as plastic free as possible state. Each vendor may or may not have a bag to give you for your purchases. Even then, there cany be multiple purchases so an empty bag is always handy.

Part One
What to wear when attending our event
We are in the first full week of September but Vermont has a habit of changing the weather up just when you think you know what to expect.
Plan for all types of weather.
Wear layers that you can shed or put back on depending on sun or breeze.
Plan for rain. We are begging for sunshine but 2023 has been a very wet year so far and our event is rain or shine.
Dress your feet comfortably. The event is held on soccer fields that are flat but not without fluctuation. Make sure your feet and ankles are properly protected for your safety. Also, happy feet make for a better visit no matter where you travel.
Be mindful of the need for sunscreen and sunglasses. Even with cloud cover, UV rays have effects on our skin and eyes.
Lastly, there is no requirement to come in costume or garb but feel free to be anyone or any character. A renfaire isn’t a renfaire without all the different people attending.
