A snippet from today…
Today is our Mother’s Day kickoff! The celebrating starts this weekend and lasts all next week.
The beginning of fresh flower shipments arrived today. We count all of the bunches of each variety to be sure they match our order, then each stem in checked, leaves stripped, and stem ends cut so they can rehydrate and then put in buckets of cool water mixed with a floral preservative solution. The flowers sit out overnight to allow them to get a good drink. Tomorrow we check the quality of all of the flowers before putting them away in our coolers.
Next stop, our talented designers work their magic!

We’re starting our spring cleaning in the conservatory.
The cloth blinds on the top windows fill up with leaves in the fall from the windows being open.
Today Scott uses a leaf blower fitted with a gutter tube to clean out the leaves and anything else caught in the blinds.
Next, he’ll blow off all the trim work and vacuum the floor to clean up the heaviest stuff.
Then, it’s onto washing all the trim, sills, windows, fans, and lights.
It’s a daunting project, but the finished project makes it so worthwhile!!
It’s not the most glamorous part of what we do, but it’s among the most important- it’s cooler cleaning Saturday!
The day after…
Much like the day after a super fun party we’ve got that Valentine hangover, but we’re ready to clean, sanitize, and get back to our “regular programming”.
