If you want perfectly roasted potatoes with crispy skins and creamy centers, first parboil them, then roast them with your seasonings in duck fat! We get ours from Duck, Down & Above in Leesburg and it just takes the flavor profile to a whole new level!

ATTENTION ANYONE WHO WORKS FROM HOME OR HAS A HOME BASED BUSINESS! I want to share our current insurance situation with you all, to hopefully save someone from potential disaster. Insurance is covering both our personal and business contents after the fire, but they denied coverage on our pole building itself. Even though I do not run my business out of that barn, I did have a few shelves of catering supplies stored in one section. According to our insurance company, this constitutes “business use”. Apparently, your home owners policy does not cover a DETACHED outbuilding or garage if it is used in any way for business purposes. That means if you make crafts that you sell at craft shows, or have an office you work from, or have small engines you repair as a side gig, in a detached building, you could be left with a huge gap in your coverage. We have both our homeowners and business policy through the same company, we have about 8 different insurance policies, and somehow we are still left with a very expensive building that does not have coverage. Thankfully our agent is a wonderful person and was honest with the insurance company about his knowledge of the few items I stored in the barn for my business when he set up our policies, which means we have the possibility of recovering some of our loss through an errors and omissions claim, which I’m sure is going to be a real blast to go through. So please, look through your policy with a magnifying glass and make sure you have a documented conversation with your agent about appropriate coverage if you have a home based business of any kind. My understanding is that if the garage was attached, it would not be an issue.

We have power restored at the farm!!! After the fire, we had to cut off power to both of our barns. Thanks to the AMAZING people at Kosciusko REMC (soecial thanks to their engineer Tanner) and to Hunter Watson with Watson Electric, a process that normally would have taken a couple of months was completed in just a couple of weeks!! A couple more tweeks to make and then I will have the ability to plug my food truck back in! I LOVE the sense of community we feel every single day here in small town Indiana 🥰

Thank you so much to everyone who signed our petitions and attended the town council meeting tonight! We had a room full of supporters with people even standing in the hallway! I think seeing the amount of support we and other food trucks have, and hearing about all of the ways food trucks can benefit a community, made a huge difference! The vibe we got from the council tonight was very different than what we got last month. I feel like if and when they do put any ordinances in place in Syracuse, they will be well educated and able to make fair decisions. I’m so excited for what we will be doing next year, and can’t wait to get back to serving you all!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hey guys!! The Syracuse town council meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday Dec 17, at 7:00pm at the Syracuse town hall. I have requested that food truck discussion be added to the agenda again for this month now that I had more time to prepare and ask for supporters to attend, but I don’t think it will be an agenda item. There is an open discussion portion of the meeting though, so I will be speaking during that part of the meeting and presenting the council with information regarding our truck and other mobile vendors. Please take a moment to sign our petition if you haven’t already, and if there’s any way you can make it to the meeting tomorrow, it would be a HUGE help!! You don’t have to speak, just having a room full of supporters will be make an impact 😉
