I have been lacking when it comes to comp posts lately. Here are some from the Blowin’ Smoke Barbecue Cook Off in Dillon, MT last week. We are still trying to dial it in. We set up next to some teams and made some new friends Q McB’s BBQ & Bigfoot’s Catering. Next week we are going to try it again at the in SLC. I am looking forward to a shorter drive.

We did well at the a couple of weeks ago, getting an 8th place call in brisket. One other item of note was that we had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Bill Purvis of . I received his brisket wrap for Father’s Day and figured I would give it a shot this weekend. Maybe we can go from good to great.

We picked up a little keepsake at the second day of the . We pulled out a 3rd place in pork. The others were 24th in chicken (shouldn’t have changed yesterday’s) 21st in ribs (better but still not great) and 8th in brisket (it was pretty good to me). We finished 14th overall.

Huge congrats to for GC and for RGC. I want to give a shout out to for their perfect perfect brisket.

Day 1 is in the rear view mirror here at the . We heard our name twice with 8th in chicken and 8th in pork. We got a whopping 28th in ribs, 21st in brisket and 21st overall. We are positioned well for most and improved for day two. Congratulations to for GC, for RGC and to those that heard their name called. Let’s Go day two.
