Sappy post & my best wedding advice for couples in 2022 & 2023 ❤️❤️⬇️⬇️

In 2019, my, then fiancé, now hubby, and I tried to plan our venue based on my grandparents being able to attend and large enough for our friends and family.

In 2020, of course, we had to move our big reception to 2021 and had our small ceremony without my grandparents. A wedding that started out around 270 invites shrunk to under 50.

That sucked at the time and while I was would’ve loved to have my grandparents there, instead, my bridal party and I stopped at their nursing home before we went to the church. We sent up cupcakes that would later be served in our reception, sent up their flowers that they would’ve worn, and they sent us back this photo.

It’s not the photo I would’ve imaged of my grandparents on our wedding day. But it’s still ours and one of the last photos I have of them before they passed. And looking back I don’t feel regret, I just feel gratitude.

So many changes have happened the last few years for all of us. My biggest advice for all the couples going into 2022-2023 weddings, remember that your expectations will kill authenticity. Relax. It may not look like the Pinterest picture, but it will be yours. And if you aim for authenticity over perfection, you’ll have nothing but gratitude. ❤️

I’m so grateful for our couples in 2021.

🌈 We went from a small production company that took a limited number of weddings each year, to a company that doubled our number of weddings because of COVID rescheduling in 2021.

🌈 It’s been crazy busy. It’s been a learning experience in shooting so often and mostly, it’s been incredibly fun.

🌈 This experience could’ve been MUCH different without our amazing couples. Thank you to our community that’s been so flexible and find during all this craziness.

Meet Baroness Weddings

Founded in 2017 as Up State Studios

The cinematic Hollywood-esque home-videos that we wish we had growing up back in the 90s.

Baroness Weddings is the team from Baroness Films, but now, we’re just dressed nicer. As filmmakers first, we love to capture those cinematic moments with a lot of heart. The vows, the speeches, the dances…of course, that’s sort of why your guests are there…BUT, if we are being honest, we really want to remind you of the moments that maybe you felt, but never saw. The reasons why the couple is really there; the small moments with all the heart.

When your Bridesmaid teared up as you walked down the aisle, the little hand hold between your Grandparents at cocktail hour, the look between just the two of you before you entered your reception…it’s those little moments that show us the real story. And…we love real.
