Add in the fear. The hurt. The pain of watching someone you love battle daily; the uncontrollable swings of emotion, the relentless assault on even the strongest of faiths. Watching the person you love the most lose their hair, watching them bedridden, forced to temporarily abandon all the activities they love, apart from friends - vomiting, listless and beaten down. Yet watching them CONTINUE to gather up every ounce of strength and courage to stay positive - to stay positive because they KNOW the people around them are hurting right along with them - and they want THEIR pain to stop as much as their own...

Can you IMAGINE what that would be like?

I'll admit. I cannot. Even trying to walk a painful mile in their shoes, just VISITING that headspace to write brings me to shaking tears. The truth is, I CANNOT fathom the depth of what the amazing Corn family is going through. I selfishly pray I never have to. I am fearful I lack the courage to walk as tall as Ashlynn, Tabatha, Jamison and Kaleigh. I simply cannot wrap my head around their strength and relentless faith. Again - can you IMAGINE???

Here's a tough ask - but I hope you'll consider it. Would you please join us on Feb 22nd for dinner at our new venue, Hidden Oak - and more importantly, share this post or create one of your own and find 3-4 friends to do the same? I have seen a lot of shares and a lot of kind comments - but the truth is, the shares and kind words outpace tickets sold by nearly a 5:1 ratio. We need some more people that care about the Corn family to attend so we are able to host this event. I really want this event to happen. In my heart, I know it REALLY NEEDS TO. I hope you'll feel the same, and share with a few others.

The dinner is $50. Yeah, a few bucks more than a normal night out - but not much more than dinner for two. Could you consider it dinner for yourself, and one for Ashlynn?? And every. single. cent. is going to a family that could be facing bills that escalate to 6-7x what a normal American family makes in a YEAR. Can we ease just a smidgen of that burden? And can we have a night of JOY together, fellowship and community celebration in the face of the toughest of circumstances?

Can you be there to see Jamison and, whether you say it with words, or just your mere presence, you are NOT ALONE. This community, this FAMILY, is RIGHT HERE with you..

Linking either in this post harms the algo and the post "disappears" I'm going to have faith that you'll both want to be there, and easily find a way to sign up.

I am uncomfortable "marketing" this event in any way as a business, and have tried desperately not to "connect" this event in any way to "us" it has NOTHING to do with us - but am using this page because it has a larger reach, I feel deeeeeep in my soul that this event MUST HAPPEN. I hope our Blue Barn army of FB pals can help make that come true.

I truly believe we have the greatest community in the World. First place. Second to none. Full of abundant compassion, support, and care. When one of our community hurts, we all feel drawn and accept the challenge to lift them up.

I am sure many of you are aware of the challenges facing the Corn family, and their daughter Ashlynn's courageous cancer fight. The outpouring on social media and all over our community has been awesome to see. I can't imagine the immense mental, spiritual, emotional, and even financial strain that places on a family.

So, perhaps we can all come together, create a moment of JOY and fellowship, and also afford some valuable financial support. JOIN US for an awesome BBQ Dinner - 100% of the money raised will go to Ashlynn and her family, on FRIDAY JAN 24th at Hidden Oak Manor

Thank you Thank you THANK YOU to everyone who came by Farmhouse Events & Catering Saturday to shop local! It's always a little nerve-racking to host an event like this, the TERROR of dragging out poor vendors to an empty, vacant building. I know this isn't our normal 'core function' but we really wanted to be a part of the Small Biz Saturday community, to support our town and hopefully offer a place for some great small businesses to pedal their wares.

I was super nervous no one would show up, but I should have KNOWN you all would support 'em. Thanks a ton, guys! Especially our many friends from Dewart Lake, who of COURSE showed up and showed out!
