This was the first band I ever shot. While I was going through trying to decide which ones to publish, I decided I couldn't rob you from seeing the entire roll. This was shot either in the fall of 2003 or the spring of 2004.

Band Name: FLW

Origin story: At the time, there was another band called Famous Last Words, so instead of trying to catch any legal flack, the crew decided to just switch to the first letter of each word. The influence was rarely spoken, but the band members were highly influenced by AFI, Alkaline Trio, Blink 182, Poison the Well, Rancid, The Transplants, Thrice amongst others.

These are, were and forever will be a great group of guys. But to us, we were The Crew

This weekend my classmates and myself had to build a set, dress it, light it as well as do hair, makeup and wardrobe for actors in order to film little scene that was shot over 6 hours. It was a blast doing it all.

Thank you WCNY and lead instructor Mac Cushing for organizing this program. I look forward to seeing this fall's students.

Good Monday morning!

Sorry for the longwindedness of the post

So if you’ve been keeping up with things you already know I finished my first cutting board and I can’t wait to make more with the knowledge the sawdust taught me this time.

While I work on a piece, I talk to it and ask it questions to see how I can make it better and I found the more I ask, the more I get answered. The biggest question I had was: how do I make you even using only the tools I have?

Typically when you sand you use a pencil to mark the surface as a reference to see what you have sanded works great but then after the pencil mark is gone you have to either stop and make another one or justt know your craft well enough to know when to stop. Im not there yet with my skills so i observe.

After a few minutes I started to see dust buildup on certain spots (ref. 1st image) and so I kept asking questions. Well I found out that those dust areas were deep valleys that need to be evened out. So even though I don’t have a 13” planer, I can still make the surfaces even and smooth. Had I had a large planer, I’d have been robbed of that learning experience.

ALSO, I am taking orders for butcher blocks (1 3/4 thick with custom dimensions) or cutting boards (3/4 thick with custom dimensions). DM me for orders.

This morning I’m across from Cafe Kubal downtown and it’s a balmy 37F or 2C. If you drive by before 9am honk and wave!

I just found out that the last of my father's siblings passed yesterday morning. My cousin Jim posted this great photo of all of them together and said it best, "Now they're all together".

I will always remember my Uncle Bruce as the guy that saved my life when I was about 3-4 years old. I fought my parents saying I didn't need my floaties and jumped in the pool. Well, I sank. My Uncle Bruce, being a man of action, palmed my head like a basketball and plucked me out of the water. It scared the hell out of me afterwards, but since then it's been a core memory of him. I will also remember his deep, diaphragmatic voice that shook your soul if you were a kid.

Dad, you get to play with your little brother again. Uncle Bruce, don't beat him too bad in football. 😉 Until we all meet again. ❤️

There's something magical about combining two of my greatest passions: photography and spending quality time with family. Yesterday, we embarked on a wild adventure to the zoo, and I couldn't resist bringing along my trusty camera to document every precious moment.

We go to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo quite often, but I rarely bring the camera so as to stay in the moment. Yesterday I did and although I didn't capture many images, these 2 were my favorite. And of course I had to capture one with my love and our kids approaching the "Nemo" Station as Ophelia calls it.

As a photographer, I'm constantly inspired by the world around me, and the zoo offers a treasure trove of captivating subjects and vibrant scenes just waiting to be framed. But more than just snapping photos, it's about creating lasting memories with the ones I hold dear.

Watching my family's eyes light up with wonder as they observed the fascinating creatures reminded me of the importance of cherishing these simple pleasures together.

So here's to embracing the adventure, seizing the snapshot-worthy moments, and savoring the beauty of family time, one click at a time.
