About Us

We serve amazing BBQ to friends and fellow food lovers, whether you grab a seat and sit in one of our many restaurants, order to go, or even have us cater your event. A passion for authentic BBQ is behind everything we do: our pitmasters get their hickory logs smoldering around 4 a.m. Then we start with top quality meats, hand-rub them with fresh spices, and slow-cook them to perfection.

Since Famous Dave’s founding in 1996, Famous Dave himself would spend hours crushing, grinding, and tasting fresh herbs and spices. He'd try them dry, boiled, sautéed... sometimes he'd just hold them in his mouth to understand all the flavor nuances of great tasting BBQ. Between BBQ pilgrimages, Dave would smoke tons of ribs himself often in reconstructed garbage cans loaded with hickory wood. He laughs when he tries to figure out how many millions of gallons of sauce he has cooked up striving to be the best! He honed his craft for 25 years before sharing his award-winning slow-smoked ribs with BBQ loving fans.

We’re honored to carry on his legacy to be consistently chosen as America’s favorite BBQ restaurant. We're also honored to have taken part in so many competitions, putting our BBQ up against what other elite pitmasters have cooked. To date, we’ve won more than 700 awards!
