Hello, new friends! My name is Michael Payne, and I'm the MP of MP Events and Rentals! Wanted to say hi, and share a little more about myself!

I originally grew up in the suburbs of Chicago (Western Springs IL, represent!), went to Northern Illinois University for my Bachelors degree, Western Illinois University for my Masters degree, and then moved to Tahlequah in 2018 to work at Northeastern State University. Since moving here, I've fell in love with Tahlequah, "caught the Tahlequah bug", and enjoy constantly planting roots and building connections. I currently work at Kroner & Baer Pub, and have LOVED being a part of the Tahlequah community, especially within downtown.

I'm incredibly thankful for all of the encouragement and hype that this has received since I've launched! Unofficially, but maybe officially, I'm going with the "Let's get the party started!" tagline for this adventure, as it seems fitting in a fun little way, but also in a "let's do this, let's listen to those around me, and start a business, why not?". I wanted to start this business, not only for the opportunity and need of party rentals within the Tahlequah area, but also because of the MAGIC that happens when people come together, and I'm excited to be apart of more celebrations, get togethers, parties, and other downtown festivities!

Next steps (since you're reading this far!) for me will be receiving inventory and starting the process of booking rental gigs! Starting off small, but always excited about the possibilities. Y’all! I am STOKED to learn more about the Cherokee Nation Innovation Hub, and all the resources available to small businesses. Brainstorming spaces, office desks, conference rooms, and presentation spaces galore!

Such a nice resource here in Tahlequah, and i can’t wait to start using it! Located within the Cherokee Nation Building at 215 S Muskogee Ave.
