It’s time to enroll in the Tahlequah Public Schools Summer Arts program. This is for students who will be in 3rd thru 8th grade in the 24-25 school year. The two-week camp will be held at Tahlequah Middle and Tahlequah High Schools and run from 8am-4pm Monday thru Friday. Each camp will be presenting Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. The first camp will begin June 3rd with performance dates on June 14th and 15th. The second camp will begin June 17th with performance dates on June 28th and 29th. There will be a limit of 40 campers per camp so please choose your dates quickly. Cost is $125 per camper and includes a camp shirt and lunch each day. Any questions can be addressed to Amy Wright at [email protected]

We are so excited to welcome Damian D. Lewis to Quartz Mountain this summer as the Acting Instructor! 🎭

Damian Darnell Lewis is a graduate of The Juilliard School, and has been a working actor, director, and coach for over 34 years. He currently serves as the co-head of BFA Acting at the California Institute of the Arts where he heads the Speech department and is a regular director of the programs main stage productions. Lewis also provides private coaching to various actors, artists, public speakers, debate teams, slam poets, and rappers from around the world under his company's label, Reflect the Text. Through it, he has been able to provide voice, speech, acting, dialect and text analysis support to various theatrical and cinematic productions, such as "Blues for an Alabama Sky," directed by Phylicia Rashad at the Mark Taper Forum; and "STEW" at the Pasadena Playhouse, directed by Tyler Thomas. His most recent film projects include Netflix specials "Mea Culpa" and "6888," both directed by Tyler Perry.

OSU-Tulsa's Center for Poets and Writers is bringing you the tools you need to start a career in the film industry! Cherokee Film Commission is sponsoring students for both Demystifying Film Music, Motion Picture Storytelling at the OSU Tulsa Campus. Each of these workshops are geared toward adults who are interested in beginning their work in the film industry.

It was great seeing so many friends and alums at OkMEA! However, we wanted to clear up some myths that we heard while we were there:

👴 Myth: Graduating HS seniors aren't eligible for OSAI
👵 Fact: Graduating seniors 19 years old and younger can audition!

❌ My students aren't available during audition weekends.
✅ Auditions are completely online this year! Deadline is February 12 at 11:59pm.

💰 Myth: Financial aid is only available for the commitment fee if you're selected
💸 Fact: Waivers are also available to cover application fee(s). Please do NOT let financial concerns deter you from applying!

📆 Myth: I'm getting back from an event the day OSAI starts, so I can't go.
⏰ Fact: Selected students are expected to attend the full duration of OSAI. However, late arrivals and early departures may be arranged in certain circumstances. We still encourage you to apply!

Interested in creative writing? Here's how to apply for 📝

To apply to the creative writing program, applicants will submit a sample of previously written work and a new work created for this audition. Writing submissions may be any combination of poetry, fiction, personal essay, and/or an excerpt from a longer work. The sample of previously written material should not exceed 750 words and the new work should not exceed 500 words. The new work must include all of the following elements: an item of clothing, a sour taste, and a bridge.
