Thank you to everyone who attended our Bon Voyage event on Friday, December 6!

The annual Bon Voyage party brings together inbound and outbound Global Exchange students. The event allowed FSU students preparing for Spring 2025 exchanges to connect with current international exchange students from their destination universities and countries.

During the gathering, students bonded over decorating gingerbread houses and cookies while conversing about life abroad. Outbound students were able to ask questions and gain insights about their upcoming experiences and inbound students shared highlights from their experiences as exchange students at FSU during the fall semester.

Thank you to everyone who attended the German Winter Holidays event last week! We had a great time co-hosting with the German Department. The group karaoke contest was the highlight of the night and we enjoyed making ornaments and learning about various holiday traditions as well.

Twenty-five students completed the Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC) this semester and were recognized at a ceremony on Dec. 6. The time, effort and intention they put into this program was celebrated by all those in attendance.

At the ceremony, there were congratulatory remarks from Dr. Tim Chapin, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy and Dr. Lee Metcalf, Director of the International Affairs Program.

Sydney Sherry, a junior pursuing a dual degree in Media and Communication Studies and Social Work, also spoke about her experience in the program.

The GCC is administered by the Center for Global Engagement and its academic home is in the Florida State University College of Social Sciences & Public Policy’s International Affairs Program. It includes three core components: academic courses, intercultural events and a sustained experience.

The GCC, administered by the Center for Global Engagement with academic oversight from the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy, is designed to help students develop the skills needed to collaborate across cultures. It requires students to complete academic courses, attend intercultural events, and participate in a sustained cross-cultural experience, such as studying abroad or engaging in a global internship.
