The Center for Global Engagement facilitates international diversity, fosters global understanding and awareness, and enhances internationalization efforts throughout the Florida State University community. Join us tomorrow, December 6 from 5-7 p.m. in The Globe Auditorium for this special event featuring German holiday traditions, with the German Program of the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics.

Participants will create their own holiday cards, having the option to learn how to write a German greeting, while members of the German Program at FSU will give a cultural presentation and will sing holiday songs, read poems, and show short videos about German seasonal celebrations. The students of GER 3502 will give 5-minute presentations on a German food item or tradition.

Experience some of Germany’s popular holiday traditions with the German Program of the Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics on December 6 from 5-7 p.m. in The Globe Auditorium.

Cultural Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) can request to co-host an International Coffee Hour once an academic year. The purpose of co-hosting a coffee hour is to allow RSOs to share parts of their culture and organization with the people at Coffee Hour. Join us on November 17, at 4 p.m. in The Globe Auditorium for a special screening of “Intersection,” a film made by Ahmed Khleifi, an international student studying at FSU from Tunisia. The showing of the film will be followed by a Q&A session.

This film won the award for the Best Short Film in the National Tunisian Festival “Gages Cinema Fen” in the 5th edition.

Ahmed’s short film is one of his creative projects, with hopes of many more to come.

This event was part of the Florida State University College of Social Sciences & Public Policy’s Ruth K. & Shepard Broad International Lecture Series and The Center for Global Engagement’s Engage Your World Speaker Series.

During his talk, Preventing World War III: The Value of Diplomacy, Ambassador Thomas discussed the role diplomacy plays in the volatile political landscape in the world today as well as his career as a U.S. Ambassador.

Join us tomorrow, November 7, for the Going Global Showcase! This is an event designed to showcase students' international experiences around the world. During this event, students will have poster presentations highlighting significant components of their experience abroad, sharing them with FSU faculty, staff and fellow students.

This event highlights the international experiences of students who have participated in FSU's International Programs, Global Exchanges, Global Scholars, and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program awarded by the U.S Department of State.
