RZA has inspired me in many ways. I’ve always been a fan of Wu Tang but when I got to hear. RZAs story it spoke to me. Initially he didn’t know music theory. The odds were stacked against him but he had faith and a vision. He reminds me of someone i used to work with that Is no longer with us today 🕊️ Shout out to Garvy for breaking down supreme mathematics and the story and beliefs of the 5%. I’ll always have a special place for him in my heart.

I highly recommend reading the Tao of the Wu
They also have a show on Hulu that shares the groups journey.
I dropped the link in the comments
If you’re a Wu fan, check it out.

Mastery isn't a destination; it's a journey. One that RZA embarked on with nothing but a vision and resilience. Where will your journey take you?

I think a lot of artists/creatives struggle with being creative and also needing to run the business aspect of their craft. So I had a conversation with AI to go over the similarities and I found the points it made very interesting. I thought I would share it with you. Here are the main takeaways.

Music and business, at first glance, might seem worlds apart, but they share numerous similarities and underlying principles that make them more alike than one might think. Both fields require a blend of creativity, discipline, structure, and collaboration, among other factors. Here's a detailed look at how music is similar to business:

1. Creativity and Innovation
Music: Creating music involves innovation, from composing original pieces to interpreting existing ones in new ways.
Business: Success in business often requires innovative thinking, whether in developing new products, services, or finding unique solutions to challenges.
2. Practice and Discipline
Music: Mastery of an instrument or vocal skill requires consistent practice, discipline, and dedication.
Business: Building a successful business also requires discipline in planning, executing strategies, and persisting through challenges.
3. Collaboration and Teamwork
Music: Ensemble performances and bands demonstrate the importance of teamwork, where each member's contribution is vital to the overall performance.
Business: Successful businesses rely on effective teamwork, where diverse skills and roles work together towards common goals.
4. Structure and Flexibility
Music: Music is governed by structures like rhythm, harmony, and melody, but it also allows for improvisation and flexibility within those structures.
Business: While businesses operate within certain structures (e.g., business models, regulatory frameworks), flexibility and adaptability are crucial for navigating market changes and seizing new opportunities.
5. Audience Engagement
Music: Musicians must connect with their audience, understanding their preferences and emotions to engage them effectively.
Business: Similarly, businesses need to understand their customers' needs, preferences, and feedback to successfully market their products or services and build brand loyalty.
6. Risk and Failure
Music: Pursuing a career in music or experimenting with new sounds involves risk and the possibility of failure, but also the potential for significant rewards.
Business: Entrepreneurship and business ventures come with their own risks and the possibility of failure, yet they also offer opportunities for substantial growth and success.
7. Performance and Presentation
Music: The way music is performed or presented can greatly affect its reception, requiring attention to detail, presentation skills, and audience interaction.
Business: The presentation of a product, service, or brand, and the performance of the team or company, plays a crucial role in its success and public perception.
8. Continuous Learning and Adaptation
Music: Musicians must continually learn, adapt to new music trends, and refine their skills to stay relevant.
Business: Businesses must also continuously adapt to changing market trends, customer preferences, and technological advancements to remain competitive.
9. Emotional Connection
Music: Music has the power to evoke emotions, connect with listeners on a deep level, and communicate messages beyond words.
Business: Successful brands often create an emotional connection with their customers, building loyalty and a sense of community around their products or services.
Both music and business are dynamic fields that thrive on creativity, adaptability, and a deep understanding of their respective audiences. Recognizing these similarities can inspire new approaches to business challenges, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Sounds similar right? If we can understand pattern recognition, we can find ourselves solving bigger problems in a simplified way. Take the template and use it for something else. See if you can tie your passion into your business and maybe that can spark up a new idea to bring your business/creativity to the next level.

As a beatmaker and DJ who is heavily influenced by personal development, mental health, and poetry, I have found that music is an incredibly powerful tool for expressing emotions and coping with difficult situations. For me, music is a form of therapy, a way to process and channel emotions in a healthy and productive way.

Whether I'm feeling sad, angry, happy, or anxious, there's always a beat or melody that can capture and express the feeling I'm experiencing. I find that creating music allows me to connect with my emotions in a deep and meaningful way, and to express them in a way that feels authentic and true to myself. It's also a great way to relieve stress and clear my mind when I'm feeling overwhelmed.

I believe music is a universal language that speaks to all of us, regardless of our backgrounds or experiences. It has the power to transport us to different emotional states, to bring up memories and feelings that we may have buried deep inside. And it can be a powerful tool for coping with difficult situations, whether it's the loss of a loved one, a breakup, or just the everyday stresses of life.

But music isn't just a passive tool for coping. It can also be an active way to work through our emotions and find healing. For example, I often create beats or remixes that reflect my emotions and help me process them in a healthy way. I've also written poetry that is inspired by my music, and that reflects my personal development journey.

I'm curious to hear from you. How do you use music to cope with difficult situations. Do you have a favorite song or artist that you turn to when you're feeling down? Have you ever used music as a way to work through your emotions? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences in the comments below.

In conclusion, music is a powerful tool for emotional expression and coping. Whether you're a beat maker, DJ, or just someone who loves to listen to music, there's no denying the impact that it can have on our lives. So let's continue to use music to connect with ourselves and others, to express our emotions, and to find healing and peace in our lives.

Shout out to Fatman Scoop for yesterdays session. He stayed dropping 💎 all night. Definitely some takeaways. He’s a real 1, authentic and has no problem sharing his L’s. He’s legendary to the dj community and even my generation. Till this day we play his hits. The beautiful part of it all is, He doesn’t let that get to his head one bit. Some djs felt that DJing is a young man’s game he came back saying it’s bs. It’s a good man’s game. You see have djs that are known for scratching, mixing, slamming which usually means they are heavily on the mic. Playing the right songs at the right time. Fatman Scoop just has that voice that you can’t shake off. He doesn’t blend. He doesn’t scratch. He knows how to rock a party without scratching or blending and he shares that with other djs. Meanwhile here most djs including myself want to know every element. What he focused on was his lane. I had to ask myself what is my lane and luckily other DJ’s felt the same.

They asked what does he mean by staying in your lane. He said. Your lane is what your passionate about. What resonates with you.

Artists let’s be real we are sensitive about our s**t. There are a lot of DJs out there that have access to the same dj pools (music) it’s an inner battle with wanting to play what you want but also keeping it relative enough so people can enjoy what you are spinning. I feel you. But the take away is don’t get lost in the noise. Be true to you. Whatever that may be.

So again shout out to Fatman Scoop
I appreciate the time you took to share the gems and look forward to hearing more about your stories as you share them with the community.

Those that rock with me and are diggin my version of the remix you can vote for me here. You can vote each day for any submission.

These votes mean a lot to these beat makers / producers. It gives someone a shot to be heard. I don’t even mind if you don’t vote for me but at least vote for somebody. It’s FREE. It’s just a second of your time.
You love music right? This is what gives beat makers / producers a push to get better. You have no idea how much a simple like or share means to artists especially if they are your people. Do you know artists and creatives get more support from strangers than what they do from their friends?

Check out the link, listen to the artists. Vote for the one you like. And if you’re not sure, check the original out and see which was the most creative.

Our Story

Open Format DJ & Radio Personality on 4PLAY 258 MAFIA RADIO Radio

DJ VLIVE was born in the Magic City of Miami, she came up during the hip hop revolution of the 90s. VLive was inspired by the sounds of Miami heavy bass artist's such as 2 Live Crew, DJ Laz, Uncle Al. This groundbreaking music along with learning how to play guitar provided the foundation for a lifelong journey with music and the desire to move people through sound.

Miami is an amazing place to be involved in music and VLIVE fully embraces the down and dirty sounds of the 305 as well as music of the past, present, and future from around the globe. VLIVE is constantly working on her sound in order to remain relevant but yet stay true to herself. Being a female DJ in a male dominted industry is a welcome challenge for her; she will work twice as hard to reach her ever evolving goals. She wants to be known as a hard working amazing DJ not a "good for a girl" DJ.

Not only is VLIVE interested in DJing she has found a passion for production and is well aware that she will always be a student of Music. When she performs her goal is to make those around her feel what they need to feel at the moment she drops the beat and find an escape from their problems.
