The lore behind our efforts:

Collaborators DJ IVNX and DJ Veine felt that there was a literal void in the local dark electronic music scene. So much music was being neglected and ignored, and artists who remained on the outskirts of inclusion. They also realized there was little affordance available at the time for alt/dark scene DJs to take pride in their showmanship.

They had to create space for themselves in the voids that were. Through collaboration, they were able to blast through barriers, inspire others, and create a solid community of support and creativity. Not just for themselves but for every one involved.

Even though VOID was named out of a sense of irony and the ease in which the concept can be talked about in terms of music, production, promotion, and memes. The void is a unique and contextual experience to the individual. It can mean many things, and we value that VOID can be open to interpretation to those that hear it's call.

VOID started in 2019 as an online collaboration between DJ IVNX and DJ Veine to showcase the latest music in the dark electronic scene. They started with a podcast to share music to get lost in the void.

Before the pandemic, they managed break ground with the first live event in the dungeon of their stomping ground, The Castle. During the pandemic, they brought VOID to the virtual space, live streaming highly visual events at home and at the legendary Morris Sound Studio.

VOID is a passion project for the creative visions of the DJs and every one else involved.

Few things we're doing differently this time around...

🌘 A real fusion of styles and taste will be explored as DJ IVNX and DJ Veine will be spinning B2B all night

🌘 Lighting and sound will be more focused to create an all new intimate visual experience, giving you an true void to step into

🌘 We'll be bringing back a creative encouragement for dressing. Come dressed to impressed or come as you are, we will not be strictly enforcing a dress code

The call of the void is there for those who listen. To some, it’s the vertigo of possibility, the blank canvas for the nothing to be something. To others it can be an opening or a gap between what we know and don't know about ourselves, the anxiety of being.

To us, VOID is the something from nothing. It’s the everything and nothing. We saw a void and decided to fill it with what we thought was missing in the dark electronic music scene.
