We are so excited to share that Sunday, January 26th, we’ll be having a Lunar New Year pre-party movie night + silent action for local documentarian Erica Nguyen as we present Shadow Weavers, along with a sneak peak of another story in the making, Phantom Roots.

Winner of the best New Mexican Feature Documentary by SFiFF, Shadow Weavers returns to Taos where the editing magic began!

About the films:

Shadow Weavers - Along the Peruvian Andes, a network of encoded messages is woven into every hat, where wool and straw become forms of communication and resistance. A Spanish/Quechua-language film that sees the hat as a vehicle for the land to speak.

Phantom Roots - A lyrical family road memoir in progress! Made by children of the Vietnamese diaspora, learning to come home to themselves through ancestral magic on a water stage.
