Maternity sessions are moving up to be my favorite sessions, I think. š¤

Maternity sessions are moving up to be my favorite sessions, I think. š¤
Hey Iām still alive! š
Sam and Anthony had a sweet elopement-style wedding, with a ceremony at Providence City Hall and an intimate dinner at . I loved this day so much!
CHERYL AND EDMUND: another chance at forever.
These two 78-year-olds have known each other for 50 years but never had a connection, since they were both married and lived different lives. A couple years after losing their spouses, they āstarted having suppers together,ā as Cheryl told me. They developed a sweet friendship and ultimately decided to marry each other. Cheryl says, āweāll be lucky if we get 15 years together!ā They celebrated their marriage at their church and enjoyed a luncheon with their closest family and friends. š„¹ I canāt wait to share more from this special and rare sort of day. It filled my heart with so much joy!
I am real bad at social media this season. Weāre moved into our new place (where I grew up!) but itās still in process š and Iām just becoming more and moreā¦pregnant. SO MUCH going on. But hereās a post of two lovebirds to throw an update on the feed!!!
Ohhhh how I love in-home newborn sessions. Lifestyle for me are some of the sweetest sessions ever. No airbrushing your babyās skin or making an Anne Geddes comeback. I just like it real. Itās somehow sweeter. š„¹
Little Violet is the newest addition to the Bancroft family and I had the honor of documenting this sweet pea last Thursday when she was just a week old! How precious is she!? And this beautiful family!? š¤ So grateful for the opportunity to capture such special moments in time.
Sweet little in-home newborn sesh. I love lifestyle sessions so much- in the comfort of your own space- especially with a new little human!
Newborn sessions might mean taking breaks to feed or changeā¦or that your babe is gonna be super unhappy for most of the shoot š but itās totally fine- and totally real! Every newborn is different and every hour is different. I just love capturing whatever happens. And little Levi came around with some calm moments. š¤ what a sweet pea!

I havenāt posted in so long and havenāt been consistent with social media at all. š³ Part of me doesnāt really care, in certain aspects, but I also love to update and just share in general!
I havenāt always been the best with time management (my friends are nodding right now), but this pregnancyā¦yikes. I definitely cannot entirely blame it on that, but it maximizes it. Like a lot of things. For example, if I was emotional before (certainly was), then this is like turning the volume up to 500 instead of my normal speaker-destroying 100. Over the smallest thing.
So to be honest, I need to give myself grace in this season and give myself limits on what goes into my weeks. I have a lot of extra appointments for baby girl that I didnāt anticipate, normal life stuff, and business, and Iām just sort of squeezing everything in. And I know that is not good for me or anyone. I need to cultivate better practices. For myself but for all of you!
Forgetting to write things down in my calendar, running from appointment to errands to session to personal obligation all in a day, misplacing cf cards and various cords, etc. I just need to create more space. And this is totally personal and becoming very clear to me!
I wonāt be taking any sessions in October, of course. And aside from the weddings I have in November and December, I wonāt be shooting anything at that time either.
We are also moving, on top of all of the things, at the end of June š
and visiting family in Illinois for a couple weeks in July.
My focus this year is not weddings (though of course I have several and am still firstly in love with them!) but sessions- of all kinds! So please do book with me! I will just have limited availability, so please reach out.
And thank you everyone for continuing to support my small business š„¹š¤ and for being so gracious with me.
More maternity sessions this year. More family sessions. More lifestyle photos. More coastal locations. Anything and everything in between. š¤š¤š¤
Looking back through a very lovely wedding at one of my favorite venues, the barn at š¤ the day was stunning and I remember the sky being so cloudy and ominous at times, and yet there was radiant sunshine and an even more glorious sunset.
Love the colors and details of this day! The vintage wedding dress is my fav though. š
Oh itās been a minute since Iāve posted š³ but Iāve been super sick with this nasty cold everyone is getting and Iām on day 13, so Iām borderline going CRAY.
Iām here to say hello and make a post and tell everyone that Iām taking MORE FAMILY SESSIONS THIS YEAR!!!! Especially in summer! Especially beach sessions! I mean, any location will do, but beach is best. I normally take less family stuff during wedding season, but not this year. Iām looking at you, July and August! š So reach out soon to chat about a session for your family!
This wedding gives me the feels. If itās not the magnetic love between this couple or the zillions of perfect details (ie: custom !) or the prime location at The Cove Cabin orrrrr the perfect weatherā¦itās the unposed group hug both families engaged in at the end of the ceremony. š„²š„²š„²š„²š„²š„²š„²š„²(swipe to the end)
Letās take it back to Amy and Mattās glorious wedding day(s) in November. They opted for an intimate ceremony with less than 30 guests on a Thursday, followed by a dinner in the wine cellar. The next day was the big party with all of Amy and Mattās friends and family, back at LaBelle! I loved how this couple really got to have the best of both world. One day was crafted for a slower, more personal intimacy, and the next was pulling out all the stops for celebration! And by pulling out all the stops, I mean they secretly planned for a GIANT fireworks show for all their guests to enjoy! š„° One of my FAVORITE things about this wedding was that Amy and Matt hand-selected (over months and months) used books for each of their guests. Whether it was for a practical reason, an inside joke, a title that reminded them of a guest, or something else entirely, each guest had a personal takeaway that also served as a place card for dinner. HOW AMAZINGGGG!?!
May the two-day split wedding trend never die!
š¤š¤ Winter is the time for moodiness š¤š¤ Kim and Jeffās intimate wedding on Saturday was the perfect blend of moody, intentional, personal, and gorgeous. I canāt wait to share even more from this day!
February feels nearly as long as the 67-days-long January we had.

ššHappy Valentineās Day!šš
Hereās my honey and I, around this time last year when we announced our engagement! And got married a month later! š I canāt believe how fast time flies, but Iām more in love today than I was even in these photos. Thatās the goal though, right? Grow & grow. Even though every day might not be a win, itās the overall progress. š¤š¤š¤
Of course Iām thinking about sunshine on this snowy day. DREAMING about it.
EVERY. SINGLE. WINTER. I go back to this dreamy (and perfectly foggy) June cranberry bog wedding. Itās full of color, intimacy (ahem, Covid wedding), and a no frills simplicity that is teeming with love. Iām SO PUMPED to hear that color is a main trend this year. For me, it should always be. How many more monochromatic weddings can we handle?! š«£

MY COUSIN AND HIS GIRLY, JEN, GOT ENGAGED ON MONDAY!!!!!!!!!
I. Was. SO excited to be a part of this and document such an incredible step in their relationship! Even though we were 3 out of maybe 10 people outside on Monday (LOL IT WAS FREEEEZING), we made the best of it. Oh, it was *just* a casual photo shoot (š) Jen thought. Josh didnāt really get my cues, as we previously agreed on a keywordā¦I tried to yell THIS LOOKS *PERFECT* at least 7 times and had to resort to saying, āokay, these are the last shots and weāll be done!ā to get the point across š I mean, my fingers were bout to fall off entirely. āļø
OHHHH I am so happy for this sweet couple. To see my cousin where heās at now and with such an amazing woman is such a blessing! š„¹š¤

Such a sweet couple to end the 2023 wedding season with. Kaycee and Matt had even more exciting news as they are expecting a little one this summer! So many emotions were had on this wedding day.
When Kaycee and I had our final timeline call a couple weeks before the big day, she had a request. Kaycee had lost her mother in early 2023, and she had already bought her mother-of-the-bride dress for the wedding. Kaycee told me, āitās a little morbid, but Iād love a photo of my dress with my momās dress,ā and she started crying and naturally I did, too. I said it wasnāt morbid at all and I thought it would be beautiful.
Dad also came in to see Kaycee and I think he was being his silly self to avoid absolutely bawling š„².
Though a freezing day (zero feeling in fingers and toes), the warmth of love permeated through.

Happy 2024! Who was your midnight smooch? I was in bed, not sleeping though, because fireworks and a dog. š¤£
This year was actually my worst year on paper since maybe 2017, not gonna lie, in terms of business. I had less weddings than I usually do, by a significant number and it bothered me a lot. In the wedding industry and really in the small business world, we can always find ourselves wondering, *what am I doing wrong?!* For me, itās not about comparison or measuring sticks because community is actually my favorite thing. If thereās anything I could do better, itās probably get more involved in the photog/wedding professionals community and networking. But either way, the 2024 calendar looks slim from the jump. And Iām trying to stay focused on what I can do and what I have to do, leaving the rest unworried about. And maybe Iāll grab a little part time job as needed and thatās okay, too.
Personally, it was a lovely year for Jeff and I. Full of lifeās ups and downs as any year would be, it altogether grew us closer. As we approach one year of marriage in a couple months (!!!), I am reminded of the speed of time and the choice we can make to be slow ourselves. I hope to slow down a lot more as a human this year. (Just not business plz, haha)
Also posting this session so much because Boston at Christmastime is glorious and this couple is beautiful and honestly itās what I have saved on my phone rn and needed to post without taking 500 years going through galleries. š

Itās Christmas Eve and here in Southern Illinois itās 65 degrees š Iām not mad. šššalso the North End is always the perfect display of city holiday cheer!
ADORABLENESS ALERT:
Sheāifa and Vinny were officially wed at Worcester City Hall on December 15, with no bells and whistles, no rings exchanged, no formal attire. The unconventional choices were balanced in preciousness by their having the MOST intimate ceremony (just the two of them!) (and me, lol) andā¦ Sheāifa HANDKNIT both of the sweaters you see. Now I donāt know much about knitting, but they look pretty darn intricate and well-made to me! I AM IMPRESSED. I loved all of these moments!
Rooftops with views are pretty cool, but how about rooftops with views aaaand a beautiful couple? š
Hi, hello. Iāve been a bit MIA on here. Mostly because Iāve finally deleted the app from my phone! If I had a dollar for every time I said thatās what I wanted to do (but never did it), Iād have some cash.
For me, the problem with instagram is the *endless scroll* Iād find myself caught in, wasting lots of time. There are tons of things Iād rather be doing than spending hours on social media accomplishing nothing, but Iād get stuck constantly! Mindless things are so easy, right?
So Iāve had this idea forever to delete the app and just re-download it when I actually have a post created or have a story to share on my business account. Iāve logged off from my personal instagram dozens of times to take breaks, easy! But then Iād just find myself scrolling away on the business account, defeating the purpose.
So HERE I am, having something to post š which will hopefully give me motivation to create posts through the off-season. But weāll see.
If Iām spending so much time on this app, I canāt say I have no time for x or there arenāt enough hours in a day or I canāt possibly do x now. Time is a ton of choices and Iām over being bummed at how I chose to spend it.
ANYWAY LOVE YOU BYE!
