What you would expect for an outdoor afternoon ceremony may not be as formal as that for an indoor evening reception.

🤨 I need you to accept a hard truth? Are you ready?

Really, really ready? 👀

A keyword doesn't have to be just one word. It can be a phrase too!

A keyword is the **Search Query** that your clients are typing into Google.

Business planner and business planning are separate keywords.

Wedding planners and wedding planning are separate keywords.

Now, how do you research these keywords?

Ask yourself 3 questions:
✔️ What do you do?
✔️ Why do you do it?
✔️ Where do you do it?

Describe your service in 2 - 3 various ways. Think "coach" vs "coaching" vs "coaches"

Take all those variations you have and go to Google. Search for each of them.
What comes up? Does this match your website and content? Great...Use that keyword (phrase)!

If it doesn't match your content and services, don't try to force it.

The next step is identifying how to use these keywords on your website.

But don't cannibalize the keywords you currently rank for on Google.

🤨 Did you know a keyword is more than just ONE word?

A keyword can be a 3- 4 word phrase. Here are some examples:
✔️ What is event management
✔️ Is social media marketing
✔️ A growth mindset definition
All of these are keywords!

If you are still confused, think of a keyword as your search query on Google. When you go to Google to look something up, what do you type in the search bar? Whatever you type in the search is your keyword.

Now think about your clients
🤔 What are they typing into Google to find your services? These are the keywords you want to use to connect with them.

NOW that you (hopefully) understand keywords better, make sure you know these 3 things when you start drafting your list of keywords for your organic marketing.

💫 Relevance - just because it makes sense to you, doesn't mean it makes sense to your audience or Google. I searched for a "sales coach" one day and I was given sales pages to buy a COACH BAG from the premium outlets around me.

💫 Search Volume - You can have high search volume like 1 million searches per month, but those words will be highly competitive and you will get lost trying to rank. If you intimately know your audience, you can use a keyword that has 10 searches a month and it will convert because those 10 searches are targeted at the results they want.

💫 Competitiveness - The more competitive a word or phrase is, the harder it will be to rank or show up in organic searches. Use a mix of long-tail keywords (the longer phrases) and short-tail keywords (1-2 word phrases) to show up in searches for the words you target.

Keywords are more than just random phrases. They are the heart and soul of your client's pain point and problem.

A keyword tells you what your client wants to know. They go to Google and search for "XYZ Service" in "ABC location."
Emergency plumber near me
Wedding photographer in North Carolina
Social media manager near Orlando, Florida
Luxury boho chic floral designer for South Asian wedding experience

🙈 🙊 🙉 Ok...ok...that last one IS NOT a keyword! It's full of words that your client would never likely search for. They want a florist or designer, but all the other qualifiers are too much!

Informational keywords will tell the client more about what you do. Write a blog and explain how your service works.

There may be a step in the process that you see clients struggle. Write about it and explain why it's important. Tell them how you can help them overcome this problem with your support.

Each week I'll take an SEO term and break it down to give you the simplest way to understand and use it.

This week we are starting with a foundational building block of SEO strategy - KEYWORDS!

Keywords are short or long phrases that describe what you do and where you do it.

For example:
👉🏽 Wedding Planner in Orlando, Florida OR
👉🏽 Wedding Planning in Orlando
👆🏽Both of these are keyword phrases...(what you do - plan weddings AND where you do - City, Metro Area, State)

Keywords are essential to SEO because these are the words and phrases people search for on Google.

Another example:
Wedding venue near me
Where can I host a party?
👆🏽 Both of these keywords rely on YOU, the business, utilizing local SEO for someone who is searching for a specific location. And you probably want to show up in the Google Map Pack for these, but that's a topic for another day.

Yes, Memorial Day is to honor those who gave all.

Yes, Veteran's Day is to honor those who gave a lot and came home to us.

Yes, Armed Forces Day is to honor those who are still serving.

Every day, not just those three, is an opportunity to honor those who gave some and those who gave all.

Today or any of these days is not about arguing with people about which group should be celebrated.

If I want to honor those still living because they are living with the memory of those who didn't come home, I will honor them too.

If I want to honor those who are family and friends of those who gave all, I will honor them too.

Celebrate your freedom! Celebrate those who give us the chance to have it.

Remember them all.

It’s wedding day at and I have the pleasure of supporting to make this celebration come alive!

Mondays are for me!
I’ve come to realize how much I thrive in n routines. It may seem boring to do the exact same thing every day, but there is merit.

Consider Steve Jobs…he wore the same thing every day. Why? It eliminated the decision “What should I wear today?”

It allowed him to make one less decision and conserve energy. If you’ve ever stood in your closet or in front of a mirror and uttered those words, you understand.

I follow a constant routine every morning. Even though Monday’s are more personal than business, it still starts the same way.

Yoga 🧘🏽‍♀️

Yoga gets me moving and starts the creative process. I can stretch. I can push myself. I can assess my progress. Once I’m done, I meditate.

Now I am ready to start my day! If it’s a rough day, I might sneak in a quick 10-15 minute workout to focus and realign.

Any way it goes, I always circle back to yoga and my breathing to focus and get things done.

I am THAT MOM that I always said I never wanted to be.

Here I am, sitting in the car rider line to pick up my son from school.

Yes, I arrive at the school 2 hours before dismissal so I can be at the front of the line. We don’t do the car rider line every day; only on Thursday.

When he asked to do this, I was drowning in my own self pity and couldn’t imagine how I could take time out of my day to pick him up.

😯 🤯

Imagine that…my son communicated a change he wanted to make in his routine, and I couldn’t conceive of a way to make it better because I was too busy. I was on a hamster wheel…up all night, busy all day, and angry when my children wanted me to play.

So I found a way to wave a magic wand
🪄
And all that changed!

I adjusted my calendar to make it work. Now, I hot spot my phone and work on one project for 90 minutes to 2 hours.

I have my laptop, two notebooks, and my phone, and I work until the gates open.

My son is the first in his class to leave and they all yell bye to him because they never get to leave at the front of the line. Its funny because he loves screaming back to them.

It feels amazing to do what I want and prioritize people in my life. My business is evolving, and this is going to be an amazing iteration of it. I have some amazing coaches in my corner that have motivated me. I also have a wonderful community to keep me engaged. And the most important thing of all - I got REAL CLEAR on my finances and what I need to do to step into the next level that I want.

I’m saying yes to boundaries. I’m saying yes to things that should have been a priority a long time ago.

I’m saying no to things that don’t light me up. And I’m saying no to people pleasing.

It’s May 4th! I had a great idea for today too…

I wanted to post about Leia having the best buns in the galaxy today. So last night when I went to wrap my hair, I put it in two buns.

Turns out I should’ve waited for today to do it. I’ve been nursing the worst migraine all day. It eased up a little so I went out with the kiddos and managed to get this photo.

I’ll say I was planning ahead, but I didn’t think about the plan I was creating 🤦🏽‍♀️ Now I’m paying for it

So May the 4th be with YOU because I am out of alignment today.

Using “I help…” statements are ok. But if everyone is doing it, why not do something different?

Words have power. The words that you use to describe yourself reflect the mindset that you carry. Don’t get me wrong, I love helping people. But what I do is so much more than just “help.”

I can be your assistant where you take the lead and I fill the in crevices that you just don’t want to do.

I can be your brainstorm partner because you are such a skilled expert in your zone of genius and putting that genius in to words is not another task you want.

I can be your advisor because content creation is so much more than just “posting because everyone else is doing it.”

Take the leap today and do something different.
