We’re switching gears from farm updates to interior design to bring you our latest Styled Inspiration Board. We love getting to do these for our interior clients so they can see a visual of what their space could be, along with a sourcing guide for all the new pieces they’re needing to purchase to complete the design (DM for design pricing). But today, we’re highlighting the nursery project for our own Keddington Dwelling.
We’ll be meeting our baby boy face to face in about a month and although the project list around our home seems to be never-ending, it’s always a necessary reprieve when we physically see the end goal to keep in mind while we’re living in a construction zone.
Recently, I’ve (Kelsey) been loving Colonial, Georgian Revival, Vintage Americana, and Academia design styles- probably because of all the stunning artisan millwork details, which is what Chad is SO great at crafting.
For this specific room, we are working with a tiny 6x9 ft space that just barely fits my oldest son’s twin bed and a nightstand. With our kids moving down to the basement soon, we’ll be converting this space in to the nursery- and luckily we can take our time since baby boy will be in our bedroom for a bit before we transition him to his own room. It doesn’t mean though that we can’t plan and dream and slowly acquire needed supplies and decor.
In the board you’ll notice all the major furniture pieces, which thankfully we already own! The leather recliner was an investment piece we purchased from a custom furniture designer several years ago that’s been in our living room but we’ll move to the nursery to have a comfortable feeding spot in his room. The crib was a hand-me-down from some dear friends and the dresser is the most recent FBMP find- an early 1900’s antique buffet that we’ll refinish to fit the room’s aesthetic. The wallpaper I found at a McGee & Co warehouse sale. I didn’t have a plan for it then, but I loved it, and knew I’d find a way to use it in a project.
Tell us what you think! What would you change and what do you love?
