Instruction for Scottish Highland Dancing provided by Kelsey (Crane) Deklerk. Kelsey is a 4 time United States champion from West Jordan, UT. She has been dancing and competing for 18 years and has won over 200 competitions and championships. She has placed in many prestigious competitions throughout Canada, the U.S., Ireland, and Scotland. In 2006, Kelsey passed her teachers exam and has been ins

tructing students since that time. Since then she has relocated to Taylorsville where she is now instructing dancers from around the Salt Lake Valley.

Congratulations to our dancer who made the trek to Hawaii for the BATD Conference this year. She was one of our studio nominees for the BATD scholarship and was able to compete in the scholarship competition and attend amazing classes. Our reps gave it their all in Boston at the U.S. Championships! Jay came away with a U.S. Champion title! Jane 1st runner up, Mairi 4th runner up, Caroline 5th runner up and Maddie received judges placings in a world class, open Championship! Our 4 other dancers, from primary to premier, all received placements throughout the weekend. And though placements aren't everything, it's amazing to see all of the hard work come together in such an extraordinary manner. It was an incredible journey to take part in. Thank you to the team teachers who work with various dancers and make up such an integral part of their learning. I couldn't be more proud of all these girls have accomplished!

We had a blast at the competition this weekend. Local competitions are the best! It's so fun to be able to dance with friends and family nearby, and with all our friends from across the state. It was amazing competing with the record, 91 entered dancers!

Our dancers were incredible! It was especially fun watching first-time competitors, first competitions in a new category, as well as last competitions before moving categories!

A special congratulations to our beginner, intermediate, duet choreography, and two premier overall trophy winners. Plus, 5 top finishers in the premier dance off!

Our premiers danced incredibly at Regionals! A special congratulations to Caroline, Jane, Jay, Mairi, and Maddie on qualifying to compete in the U.S. Championships in Boston!
